Coldfusion is 20 years old and i have never heard of it before. Havent seen one person actually use it, but its still operating. Flash, used universally, made the games we love and made our childhood. Still extensively used but the second it started to decline in numbers its death was announced and will be forcibly deactivated
Yeah, Coldfusion tried to solve a problem but did it the wrong way. Secondly, it was proprietary, which does not hold up in the tech world. Most tools used today are open source and free to deploy. A lot of today's infrastructure is built around and with open source software. PHP was one of the languages that killed it as it was easy, open source and didn't require a proprietary editor to get started.
Actually, one of the main things that contributed to its death was the vulnerabilities and exploits. Here is a comprehensive list of them: www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-53/product_id-6761/Adobe-Flash-Player.html Also, Adobe refusing to patch some for up to 9 months (iirc) didn't help.

The difference (I think) for Photoshop Classic is you pay a big fee upfront and then own it forever. The Photoshop CC version is paid through a smaller monthly subscription. If you stop paying you can't use it anymore.
I saw this from Reddit and passed it around at work to our IT team and other creatives. It's SUCH a simple and effective overview! Thank you for your hard work.
*My journey from 29 to 29,000 subscribers in 10 days with this one video. This comment is written here to give inspiration to anyone in the creative world who is holding back* This video took like an year to make on and off. In total I may have spend like 10 days of continuous time to make it but I stopped making it mid-way last year because it got significantly more complicated and time consuming than I initially anticipated. Also, things were not going according to the plan, like the voiceover quality was not upto the mark and the idea of the "puppet character" also went wrong. The initial idea was to make a quick video solving this confusion which I knew people had. I thought it would get like 20k views from people searching for it.Then when the project got too complicated, I started feeling like it is not worth the time and effort. And, without any subscriber base, I didn't think people will even come to know about the existence of such a video. So, I stopped making it. Then, last week I got some free time so I decided to finish it off anyhow even at lower quality standards than my initial expectations as I had already put so much effort last year and I didn't want it to go waste, that's how this project got completed. Even then, I was thinking that this might end up becoming an eyesore among the planned upcoming videos which are in more interesting topics. I think one of the main concerns of many creators is this question - "Is it worth the time and effort? Will anyone even watch it?". And that is an understandable question as making a quality video requires a lot of time/effort/investment, so everyone calculates if it is time well spend or not. But if a channel already has a subscriber base, then the creator can be sure that it will be viewed by that audience and hence they are more confident to put the time, effort and investment. For example, If I knew this video was going to be this popular, I would have made it much better. *Future* - I plan to make video essays on various interesting topics with the mantra of *"Quality > Quantity".* It is not going to be about Adobe or software or anything particular, instead it would be the kindof videos that can be enjoyed by basically everyone. Basically, it would be information rich enjoyable videos. I also plan to make more videos explaining complex things in simple words. If you enjoy such high effort videos, I would strongly recommend to subscribe with notification bell turned on, as I post less than once a month which means TH-cam is unlikely to show it in your feed due to lack of quantity. *PS* - Some people wanted that adobe periodic table image to be used as a wallpaper. So, I have uploaded the original images of some 16000*9000 resolution here. I created this in illustrator. Some of the icons were not even available in adobe's website in good format, so I had to make them - With title - ibb.co/ThznTWx Without text title - ibb.co/C6wMM9x
It would be really cool to see an in-depth video of each one. I'd subscribe to that. You can make each icon on this vid a link to another vid of yours that explains that particular Adobe product in more detail. Sounds like a start of a good series to me. Awesome explanation by the way, super helpful!
I've subscribed and I look forward to learning more from your work. Is there any other channels that you would recommend that have this kind of outlook on software, industry, coding, etc? You just made me realize how hungry I am to expand my knowledge base. I'm a lead tech engineer looking to get into the software coding business.

I disagree. You are not paying for every software individually. Even if they closed 2-3 of those softwares, you would still be paying the same amount per month for the subscription. So many softwares, looks complicated, but actually makes sense. Instead of cramping every single feature into one software and confusing users, better have bunch of softwares for specific tasks interconnected pretty well. So even a beginner or non-professional can use them.

When you are doing better job than Adobe's own marketing department...
I mean these are mostly for professionals, yeah it was nice seeing this video and getting to know Adobe products but how many of us are really interested in buying it? Why would Adobe invest in marketing when there's little outcome? They're not selling shoes!
@@MamadNobari
You've got a point. But also I firmly believe getting the public dependant on their products by turning a blind eye to piracy was an unspoken part of their marketing strategy.
@@MamadNobari - I remember pirating Adobe Photoshop back in the day. Then, about 15+ years ago, I got a legitimate copy of Adobe Photoshop CS, and eventually upgraded that to CS3. I've been paying for an Adobe CC subscription for the last two years. I don't even know what half of the stuff does. I actually found this video because I was looking for InDesign tutorials, because Microsoft Word has seemed antiquated the last two books I've put together.

Here is a comprehensive list of them: www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-53/product_id-6761/Adobe-Flash-Player.html
Also, Adobe refusing to patch some for up to 9 months (iirc) didn't help.

*My journey from 29 to 29,000 subscribers in 10 days with this one video. This comment is written here to give inspiration to anyone in the creative world who is holding back*
This video took like an year to make on and off.
Some of the icons were not even available in adobe's website in good format, so I had to make them -
With title - ibb.co/ThznTWx
Without text title - ibb.co/C6wMM9x
It would be really cool to see an in-depth video of each one. I'd subscribe to that. You can make each icon on this vid a link to another vid of yours that explains that particular Adobe product in more detail. Sounds like a start of a good series to me. Awesome explanation by the way, super helpful!
I've subscribed and I look forward to learning more from your work. Is there any other channels that you would recommend that have this kind of outlook on software, industry, coding, etc? You just made me realize how hungry I am to expand my knowledge base. I'm a lead tech engineer looking to get into the software coding business.

Adobe XD is really nice, I have my classmate that knows how to draw but doesn't know how to code, so he can't design, found this video then he was able to bring the design to me. But the add-ons on Adobe XD sucks, you can't export it as a different format to be used in PHP or kotlin/Java.
