Once you discover this part of our history and the extent to which the streetcar network had coverage over it really puts the blue and green line to shame.

Amazing video! I miss the streetcars so much! The light rail just isn’t the same.

His voice reminds me of Roger Ebert. This is so well done!

This was great! A suggestion: Could you include an image of current conditions, e.g., of the overhead shot at the Capitol, for those of us not familiar with the Twin Cities? I'm from Pittsburgh and your videos remind me of my youth. Well done...

Really cool video! Seeing the Montgomery Wards building brought back a flood of memories hanging out with my hot rodding dad in his 34 Ford in that parking lot. Was the beginning of the end of Wards, but the car dealership across the street too. Can I turn back time to 1988 again?

US highway 12 and 52 went down University Avenue to Washington Avenue. The Milwaukee Road Depot at 3rd Avenue and Washington Avenue was the Junction of US 8, US 65 and US 12 and 52

Never rode on a street car, although I'm old enough, but have ridden lite rail and was very impressed, very comfortable and avoid high cost of parking downtown.

Is it accurate to say the line was abandoned--a mere five years after the infrastructure was rebuilt by the state highway department? It was asset-looted in a $1M fraud by corrupt private ownership. Fact: TCRT's own consultant, Bingham, recommended retaining much of the public assets we see here.

Rode bus to Chicago for the experience. Horrible experience, took forever, very uncomfortable, train shook from side to side.
