@@lds251 They didn’t really seem popular here, more in Europe Germany mainly. Alan was the main writer for the songs. Chip Hawkes was a help too. It was so sad for the band when Allan died. Silence is golden was one of their biggest hits. As you mention lots more on You tube

Can anyone tell me why Rick Westwood stopped singing all together. I noticed in the latter Trems videos, he does not have a mic even though he's playing guitar. He does not sing. He had the most beautiful voice in Silence Is Golden. I fear something went wrong with his voice. Anyone know for sure? So many videos, where everyone is singing except for him. Thank you

The Tremeloes almost ruined the career of the Dave Clark Five. The Five had recorded Do You Love Me and were about to release it. However the Tremeloes were in the same studio, heard the DC5 version, it sounded like a hit to them, so the quickly covered it. Since they had recently had a hit record and the DC5 didn't have any (yet), there version got air play.
They were fantastic.The sixties had the best songs groups and songs.What a wonderful time.
