What it's really like to crew a WORLD RECORD attempt | South West Coast Path Ultramarathon

- When asked if we would support a world record attempt around the south west coast path of England, of course we said yes! But guys, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into by agreeing to crew an Ultramarathon!!
The coastal path is 1014km long, a world record to beat of 10 days and 12 hours. It is incredibly beautiful and brutal all at once!! This was one of the toughest things we have ever agreed to, and so much happened that we have had to split it into 2 videos!! Let's just say that it takes a different kind of human to pull this off, and we couldn't be happier that we were asked to support Dave as he made his attempt!! We may be exhausted, stressed and hungry, but we are happy to be of service!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. So after waiting for six months for the borders to reopen in Ireland we have finally hit the road in June 2021 and spent 90 days enjoying vanlife in Spain. Then we spent the next two months enjoying vanlife in Croatia before heading onto Serbia which stole our hearts. Now we have journeyed from there into Turkey where we are meeting lots of fellow vanlifers.

Yeah we seen bigbury bay, had to drive to the ferry ports on both side. Only wish we had more time to actually explore places, but it was usually just pull up, cook, feed, clean, work, drive 🤣🤣 never even got into the sea once!! But seen them from a distance hahaha.

Wow this is amazing. And Dave is crazy hahaha. I've walked bits of the up and down cliffs on that walk, it's a bloody killer, so hard going, they do a run down there called the Grizzly. What a challenge. Hats off to him and the Awesome Support Crew ❤

Thanks so much guys 🥰🥰 we put a ridiculous amount of love and energy into the post production of this lol, so really appreciate you enjoying the edit. Our filming got a lot more sporadic as the exhaustion set in lol!! The more and more sleep deprived we got the harder and harder it was to make coherent sentences 🤣🤣🤣 we quite enjoy making stuff documentary esque! But weird to try and merge informative behind the scenes and Philly and Keely vlog style together lol. Hopefully we manage to pull something together for Sunday's video in our exhausted state haha

So exciting watching this one... local to me (Dorset)..three weeks ago my friend did the Jurassic coast challenge 100k and I was blown away by her tenacity..

Oh my word turning the van was seriously so stressful numerous times a day 🤣🤣 the roads are tiny lmao crazy beautiful, brutal landscape. Well done to your friend! 100k seems insane to me. (I don't even register mentally the distances Dave does 🤣🤣) like I honestly think people who do marathons are mad, so this is all just mind blowing hahaha
Crewing is a challenge all in itself .. well done guys ... now if you could just make your way up to Portrush and help me during my month-long running challenge that would be awesome :) Safe travels ... and looking forward to Part 2 (great story telling by the way)

Oh my goodness. I never say things can't get any worse cause they can, but for crying out loud what an absolutely horrendous start for john's Guinness world record challenge. Absolutely love a spot of wildswimming!!! Believe it or not, considering we spent the entire time along the coast we didn't get a single swim in lol. Absolutely flat out crewing our tutoring or editting. Literally the most intense time of our life 🤣🤣🤣🤣

🤣🤣 I thought that clicking was like the lights and stuff as it happened after trying to start it lol. Yes that was the morning we called you 💗💗 you're a wee legend for all yer advice. Yeah we did and we revved it loads and stuff. It must have worked a little for it to have started again, he said when trying to jump a van like ours it might take like 30/40 minutes of charging.

Dave must have been smelly after the running . So you are basically a support crew not much fun unless your being paid like a job . You might say no to the next crazy idea you volunteer for that doesn't benefit you.
Martha is still recovering from that cheesy smell 🤣🤣🤣 people should do things to help other people often, not only to benefit themselves 🥰🥰 (maybe not quite such major things haha) time does not have to be transactional to be time well spent 💗💗 this is a bonding experience like no other for our family, that's worth it a lone.
