EXPLORING BANGKOK'S TOP SPOTS (Chinatown and floating markets)

- We loved this city so much we decided to stay a few more days. Our last few days before heading off to Tokyo were spent in Chinatown exploring everything this region has to offer. Yaoworat Road is the heart of China Town in Bangkok, it is full of street markets, gold stores, herb dealers, textile markets and a crazy variety of food. It is bright and busy and full of people, sounds and smells. Exploring the narrow alleys as well as the main street both by day and night gives a great feel of the area. We try some local delicacies and hope they are vegan lol!
We visited Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, what an incredibly beautiful place with has cool back story to the golden Buddha statue.
Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market was one of our favourite things we did during our time in Bangkok. It is just outside of Bangkok, not as busy as some of the more touristy floating markets, but it had great vibes and amazing value boat ride.
Then off to Tokyo baby!!

We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But now we are back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe and beyond!! CHANGE OF PLANS: we abandoned our van and are backpacking Japan now 🤣

I love that you both ❤ Thailand, the people are SO chilled out & charm in my experience. I love Asian food!! Beautiful solid gold Buddha!! I went to a Temple which had the biggest reclining Buddha & Buddhist monk fortune teller. I loved the canals & boat trip, people who live there are so friendly they greet you with Sawadee ka 🙏 Still can't believe espresso coffee was so expensive? Off the Toyko on Thai Airlines which was my favourite when traveling!! ❤

So enjoyed this! Had to laugh about the having to pack your bags bit as that's one thing I love about caravan life is never having to pack and all the worry about forgetting something! So much easier travelling in a van when you don't have to worry about fitting all the necessities into a 23 kilo bag! Pros of vanlife!

OMG guys i can't believe that buddha was covered in plaster for so long!!! WTF!! So cool to see this part of Thailand through your eyes - Meeks has been before but i haven't and it's really giving me all the feels. You're inspiring us with your crazy working hours too - maybe flying off somewhere random for a while next year might be on the cards - fudge the time difference! haha. although i think we'd go the opposite direction - much rather start work at 4am and have the afternoons free than starting in the middle of the night! Luckily Yen is at its lowest in decades right now, so cheapest time we could probably ever come, more expensive than Bangkok but actually cheaper than London, Vancouver or Melbourne right now. If anyone has ever dreamed of coming to Japan now is the time while the pound is worth alot more.
