About a hundred years ago grave robbing for valuables was rife. This graveyard looks like something like that happened. It’s so sad to see that these poor souls last resting places were disrespected and vandalised 😢 Thank you for sharing 😊
Hey Sue, this is epic, interesting to see inside the open crypts, how odd they were open! Wow seeing those remains underneath, just incredible, sad that its in such state of disrepair. Appreciate how kind and respectful you and GV are. great video!!
Oh my word, what a find !! The window with the vines wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery nor would the tree , absolutely fantastic . The whole place took my breath away , so much to see but a shame it was left for nature to reclaim . Thank you GV and Serenity Sue brilliantly presented xx
Completely forgotten by time but in it's day people worshipped lived, died happy and sad days. What a find to remember those gone. Thanx guys for the walk.❤😊❤😊
I'm a new subscriber. I live in Georgia, United States. Up in the mountains. There is a graveyard not far from. us, in which my 4th great grandmother is laid to rest. Fascinating that you go around to these graveyards. They are so beautiful. This one is amazing. Think how it must have been when the Church was still active and whole. What a feast for the eyes. The last grave being just such a short time ago. It must have been tricky digging that grave and getting the casket there. Must be such a feeling of peace in these graveyards. Thank you for making this possible. I do family genealogy research so seeing old graves really makes the research into the lives of people so real.
I love watching your videos. I used to love going to cemeteries and would drag my son with me when he was younger. Not sure he loved it. I am envious of your energy and walking pace. Amazing. Keep up the great grave visits.
So I was able to watch before my son arrived. OMG that was a crazy adventure. Thank you both for going the extra mile for us. You always amaze me with your discoveries!!!
Thanks so much Sylvia, it's important to make the effort to find these old graveyards, unfortunately for this place it's extremely dangerous but still beautiful
Thank you Sue and GV for taking us on this amazing adventure. Love the ruins of the church and the lovely stones. It's a shame that it has fallen into such disrepair. So sad for the people interred there.
Hi Sue and GV. What a wonderful find. Beautiful old Church and graveyard. Thank You both for bring us along. You two make a great team. Love from the USA!💚💚
You are so intrepid in your adventures, Sue and GV. This cemetery was an absolutely amazing experience, with your shots of the sky, clouds, moon, tree, the church window with creepers twining around the niche and all the textures of the different stones ... I'm raving, but truly thank you for a wonderful video.
Wow! Again an amazing find! I really enjoy these old old cemeteries as here in Canada 🍁 we don’t have any really old ones like you do over there! The tree growing out of the old church ⛪️ was just amazing! Thank you for the great video! God Bless you both! ♥️🇨🇦🇮🇪♥️
Sue, I really enjoyed this fantastic video. When my uncle was living, he use to troll old cemeteries and he told me that you can find out more about a person in death than when that person was alive. He loved the stories on the gravestones. This cemetery is perfect for a horror story or movie. We have a lot of dilapidated old cemeteries like this in the states. Unless there is a private organization or volunteers, the cemeteries are left to their own devises. I live near a neighborhood where the cemetery is in the back yard of a residence. The graves are back from the 1700's
Thank you for sharing your story, ahh your Uncle sounds like such a sweetheart, my family always brought me, I used to love the beautiful pepples and stones on graves, even brought some home one day, I thought they were gems, I got in big trouble too, anyway I think that's where my love started, as just a 6 Yr old..x
A dangerous place to walk around! You could fall through into a crypt and get seriously injured or worse. Pretty wild to find these open crypts, but sad that vandals did what they did. Epic find guys! 😊👏👍
It’s hard to imagine someone breaking into a crypt or coffin. Here in America I’ve seen cemeteries with pushed over and broken tomb stones. It is a good example of the lack of values in our society. I travel to many cemeteries with my Grandparents looking for relatives and admiring the beauty of the stones and plants. Here where I live in South Eastern Pennsylvania we have names of townships like Colerain, Donegal, Drumore, Oxford, Nottingham and Little Britain. I suppose you can guess where the folks who settled this area were from, including my GGGGrandfather from Ireland. Thank You Kindly for this beautiful tour! I would have Loved to see the church when it was intact with the lovely windows. I’ll bet the woodwork was splendid! Peace, Many Blessings and Joy of Being! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
I have a granny, granda, two aunts and two uncles buried in the Foxford/Ballina area of County Mayo. The quantity of rain in the area does not help in preserving the graveyards from the weather.Good presentation in the video Sue.
Hi SUE a great video full of history really interesting shame place is falling apart but great history and Ireland has plenty of that sorry too see the desecrated graves.Keep up the great videos Sue and companion you guy's are wonderful.
Thanks Sue,GV for another enlightening walk.Sad that the crypts are in that condition but maybe no descendants left to tidy up. Sad if there is vandalism, anyway sleep well, everyoneor have a great day,god bless from ballarat in Oz,👋👋🙏🙏🇦🇺
The church ruins were beautiful. I’m always blown away by crypts open to the elements. So sad how there has been no care. And forgive my ignorance to how things were done back in the day but when there is a grave with the names of parents and all their children. Does it mean they are all buried there? If so that’s pretty amazing. Great video ♥️
@@SerenitySueGraveyards So since you do not use liners over there, ( I live in Oregon, USA by the way ) as the coffins disintegrate, all the remains mix together? Is that the idea for those large family graves?
@@SerenitySueGraveyards Thank you again Sue, for your time and patience with my questions. It sounds like burials over there 100 or more years ago were pretty much natural burials. No liners, no embalming fluids, pretty much everything goes back to the ground, except for bones, coffin handles, and what jewelry was buried with the deceased. No environmental hazards there. Take care Sue.
Love your channel. Just found it so trying to catch up. Visited Ireland about 50 yrs. ago and just loved it! Wish I could live there. I enjoy your channel! God Bless You!
Hi sue its a shame people can not leave dead people alone. Let them rest. Its good to see you and irish eyes have respect and always have. You both take care love from riky in aberdeen.xx
No problem great to see yet another good vid. You both take care and please say hello to the little man for me. And my daughter summer. She is 11.years and enjoys watching these vids. I heard you get a shout out from scott on tape. I watch him too. Lol.xx
I came across one of your videos and couldn't stop watching! You are a wonderful story teller and your accent is beautiful! I subscribed to your channel and am on a roll to watch several more! Thank you! 😊❤️🙏🌼
Over 9 thousand subscribers now and with Grave Visitations has another great video. Loved the Church of Ireland! What a tough cemetary to walk thru so glad Grave visitations was there. All those open doors and i get nervous about seeing bones and such. Until next video!
First time I'm watching this Sue doesn't seem like 1year ago since you were here I thought maybe 12months ago,😂😂on a serious side It's impossible for you to make a boring episode AYE ITS A GRAND CHANNEL 👍👍 thanks for sharing SUE 🙏🍀🎥 cheers Stephen 🍀🍀✌️✌️
I am so sorry I missed this. I am going to watch it I awhile. I haven't seen my son in over 4 months and he will be here soon. Love what I have seen so far....
Those stone crypts and buildings are super heavy. If there are heavy rains in the area, could cause the earth under the stone structures to weaken and break open and sink. Cemeteries are such curious and mysterious places. Great video.
I completely agree, now some people don't like it but most of my subscribers like myself are intrigued by what happens when we die. Not always nice finds into the crypts but this is educational and I suppose I am a little bit morbid. I'm simply fascinated by these crypts etc
At 32:16 there is what looks like a face in the stone that is over the crypt entrance. A very sad and haunted looking cemetery. Thanks so much and please be safe, the both of you! Blessings!
Wow Sue, that was certainly an adventure into the unknown! not a place to venture into at night as you could find your self down a deep hole with a broken limb or two. Thankyou so much, as always so interesting to watch. Take care and God Bless ♥
Who knows is right, I do understand natural decay in our older cemeteries but I can't forgive vandalism or grave robbing, you know me ill always take a peep inside but it sure makes me mad to see places left to rot and left to a certain few people who think it's OK to destroy and Rob from the dead.

Yes, it's a beautiful church if in ruins
About a hundred years ago grave robbing for valuables was rife. This graveyard looks like something like that happened. It’s so sad to see that these poor souls last resting places were disrespected and vandalised 😢 Thank you for sharing 😊
Hey Mazz, oh I seen it before on the McKenna Mausoleum, the coffins I could nearly touch, the lead coffins ripped open like a tin can, shocking
Wow beautiful and sad at the same time thank you both
Very welcome Tom, yes that's how I see it, there's beauty in this sad place, even as it looks now x

It was stunning, pity about the damage though x
Open crypts with remains? Unreal! Thanks Sue! ❤️

What a picturesque little churchyard, a bit sad that the crypts got broken into this badly. Still a beautiful sight to see.
