Hello Mr. Appleton - no doubt the shape and position of steam ports as cast will vary quite a bit; presumably some will be so poor, in their raw state, that they will need some fine-tuning. Can you remark whether this is indeed the case, and how a faulty casting is put right, at this small scale? Thanks for your consideration.
@@keithappleton I hate to clog up your comments with pedantic quibbles, but to my so-called mind "wrong way round" means 180º out. That made no sense to me, the valve should be symmetrical along each axis. If you had said "sideways" I would have understood immediately. Please don't mind me, and continue making your interesting and useful videos.
But Seriously. Watching your videos really makes me want a small steam engine, awesome videos thanks
It is a bit of a disease I'm afraid . . . }:-)))

I show the way that I corrected a problem like this in the video I made recently when working on a Stuart Models Victoria Factory Machined kit.
@@keithappleton Hmmm 🤔. I’ll have a look…thanks! 👍
I was confused by the statement that the slide valve was 'wrong way round' until I realized that you meant 90º out.
Sorry, I thought that was too obvious to mention . . . .
@@keithappleton You can't explain too much for me!
I can't win, if I make the videos hyper detailed, then TH-cam viewers moan about that too ......
@@keithappleton It doesn't matter what you do Keith, some bugger would moan about it.🙄

Sudafed is good for a cold in the head, I guess at small scale ,lap and lead are negligible? Get well soon hope psa low.😊
Lap & Lead is valid in almost all Steam engines regardless of size.
@@keithappleton so incorporated in the design.
