I personally think all the clutter and randomness makes it even easier to play with and incorporates a fuller play experience within one set than a TON of other new city sets. Great video still!
Yea I think overall it’s better for young kids who want to play out a seaside scene. However I would have preferred these to be split into 2 sets, keep the combination feature but a slightly bigger ship with more containers would be great.
@@coraldiamond1922 you said it perfectly. I think if it had just been a larger cargo harbor and ship it would have been amazing. I think they should have left some of the other scenes in the set for separate set add ons.
In my home city (Porto Portugal) the most popular beach (Praia de Matosinhos) is right next to the biggest port in the region 😭 for me the build makes sense
@@TheBrickQuest i also agree with your thoughts on the rest tho, the playability of the green container ship from all those years ago is superior and it floating beats the most recent ship
I completely disagree with your opinion. I think the clutterness is really cool and interesting for kids because they can have many different storylines in the same set. Also, the fisherman's crate is supposed to go in the openable compartment at the bow of the ship. He sells his fish, which makes sense, and the cargo ship transports his fish to other places. Also the jet-skies are supposed to be imported by the cargo ship and then purchased by the little shop in the building, where people can then rent them and use them at the beach. The crab can be caught and used for food in the restaurant. These are just some examples of cool storylines, and personally I think I would have had a blast with this set if I were younger! It also makes it much more flexible and interesting to be able to split and rearrange the set with the different tiles. For example if you look at the map there is a set that perfectly matches the building outline, and also has connectors which can connect to this set. It is the Lego city: 60417 Police Speedboat and Crooks' Hideout, this is a really nice touch made by Lego and also makes sense because the set has containers where the criminals are. I had the old lego city harbor set when I was younger and it was really good, but I think I would have had much more fun with this one to be honest!
This is such an AFOL take on a kid's toy... you seem to be measuring it only against nostalgia-tinged expectations of what harbor sets were like when you were young, as well as adults' expectations of realism - rather than on its play value, variation, gender-neutral appeal, etc. where this set brings something new to the table for its intended target audience.
@@yuotueb you make a good point. It is cool! Just wish it was more of a larger cargo ship and harbor and then the Restaurant and other pieces were separate set add ons. Still has some fun parts to it though.
@@TheBrickQuest yeah especially since the restaurant doesn't even look bad, and as a stand alone set maybe if it was a bit more complete would be awesome
Sure it seems random but i feel like its a good thing. Theres a beach on one side, theres a harbor on the other, it doesnt make sense to go together, so it gives you the opportunity to build something in between the sides to justify the story.
I plan on using the different aspects in other MOCs with the crane getting duplicated, maybe three in a Harbor MOC. I will also super size the ship and use the rest of the set and minifigs in a city
The lack of a truck to haul the cargo containers limits the playability, like what are you supposed to do with the containers? Let them hang on the crane? Had the 4645 Harbor which was amazing as a kid but I think I'll still pick it up eventually due to my obsession with the City theme.
Ya. Your right! Would have been nice to see a truck and some other cargo dock items. But I get it, any long time city fan or fan of the harbor sets will probably want to grab this one. It does have some cool elements.
I haven't really checked in on what Lego has been doing with their city sets but I'm a little confused on why Lego doesn't really make floatable boats anymore
Ngl i felt like you focused on what its NOT rather what what it IS, what youre getting for your money in person including inflation, eye test, playability. I personally have this set and adore it, 110 is a fair value in todays market and i genuinely feel that the money that i spent is worth it and it can go well for a kid wanting a boat set or a moc building incorporating this in a city.
I can definitely see where you are coming from. It is cool! I just wish they had changed a few things. Just my opinion on the set but I know a lot of people will buy and really enjoy this set! If you enjoy and like the set that’s all that really matters. Thanks for the feedback!
Its not a butter fly catcher i don’t know if you live near an ocean but I do and we call that a net and we use it to catch crabs and fish under the water like just a net in a stick, like a butterfly catcher but you catch fish
It’s funny you say that because I actually wondered if that was the case after the fact. I guess I just thought butterfly catcher because she was on this park scene sidewalk.
@@TheBrickQuest yeah no matter what LEGO ends up making great stuff even if there’s missing parts they end up sending a very kind note to you and giving you the extra parts I ended up getting five others, including a café, the speed champions, McLaren and Gwagon, which came with the new double long key slope, which also appeared in the tuxedo cat that I have along with the car poly bag for a parking lot and then two gifts with the purchases and all of it is built besides the port
Butterly net looks more like a fishing net. There’s lots of pleasure boaters and fishers at ports, so it is actually accurate. Do you live near any ports?
its an interesting set, way to expensive for the price alone, it would of been better if they added trucks instead of ski boats and the store i have no idea why that's there lol
Your right. It’s a kids set but it’s also $110 which is a hefty price tag. It would have been cool if they had given us just one big shipping harbor, with trucks, cargo, maybe a couple shipping buildings etc.
i think they should’ve named this set marina or something instead of harbor because i’ve been to a marina in morocco and it seems way more accurate of a name
look you clearly haven’t been to a place on the Erie canal cause up in rochester thats normal least tugs on lake ontario but it’s not too far a stretch
Dude im sorry but this take is straight up boofin like its a kids toy for kids in the city theme, its got a nice looking boat and some cool buildings it allows for so much play and has some normal city building stuff, good set
I can see what your point of view. It is more geared for kids and does have some nice looking elements. Just wish some of these parts were separated into different sets and the harbor was more of a large harbor/shipping dock by itself. It does have some cool elements though for sure!

He said the set is confusing and poor (which is true), but then he gave 19/20 (so it's a 9/10 set?), which was extra confusing!!!
Good catch! I didn’t realize I said that. Build experience grade is out of 40. So 19 out of 40. Thanks for letting me know.
I was thinking the same thing, the only thing more confusing than the harbor is his rating system.
In Europe it is often normal to have harbor near to beach
