I do love that this is more than just a boat and small dock it is an actual harbor-looking build. Good on Lego continue making City actually feel lived in and like a working area.
I think it’s wierd that they shoehorned two harbor versions into one. Having a beach and seafood restaurant (wich also is ridiculously tiny) next to a cargo harbor is just stupid. Either make a cargo harbor set or a beach set. But here we are getting a incomplete beach and an incomplete harbor. LEGO did this better some years ago.
Had to look up this specific build only because it seems like it’d be a fun set next to the Ideas Fishing Shop. Expressing my thanks for a super informative video!

Lovely set. I am really fighting the urge to get into collecting city as well ... Not sure what the LEGO designers ate this year, but they are on a roll. Can't really complain about any of the sets they make (from friends to city and beyond). I do see the base is made really sparse with only 2 by x plates instead of using a bigger and more stable plate system, Seems my fear of it being less stable was real. Still nice set. A shame they are not very forward thinking, and they don't think to make the really good stickers as prints (the seafood plate and the crab shop sign for example ).
Also I think mashing two sets into one was a bad idea. Normally they make a fleshed out cargo harbor set and a beach set. Now we have two disappointing halves and everything is smaller. Take a look at the previous cargo ships. Also the harbor sets always had road-baseplates or road bricks integrated and thus a bigger footprint (a truck could drive on the harbor and haul the cargo the ship brought). This is just sad
@@xhearthfirex6571 I think this is one of those nice sets you can get at 30-50% off and just get 2 or 3 of them and mash them together (and add some of your pieces). I for one am happy they aren't using the road plates. Not sure if I like them as roads ... I like them for other things, just not as roads.
Hey Bricks By Mind. the City last had a cargo ship in 2011 set 4645 which had a ship you could float in the bath if you were a child, first look at this gave me (the ship) feel of a 1991 set 6541 but after watch you review this ship could be just about as long as the 2011 set but not as long, i wish i had never sold mine. You cant have it all.
Peter Venkman is a ghostbusters character - the hairpiece was introduced for both characters around the same time - the doctor used it in grey, venkman had it in brown

The bearded fisherman is actually the same one from the city Harbor set from 2012, its such a sick reference
beaches are cold sometimes, sweater makes some sense

I don't know why, but that little angled section in the build just adds a lot to it for me.

@@octav1600 yeah but it has to be at least at 40% better 50% so we can buy two of them at a reasonable price to be worth it

The side of container piece was introduced before monkey kid, i do not know the exact theme or year but they did appear in Nexo Knights before.
By the way that transparent-clear cup peice isnt new for this set,it was in the Harry Potter cmf series 2 with Ginny Weasley
