- Hi everyone, thank you for 13:49 of your time. In this video we restored and upgrade trashed Dell N5110. The specs after restoration and upgrades are i7 2670QM, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1GB Nvidia GT 525 and 240GB SSD. It's a bit older laptop but still very useful today.

I've owned one of these since 2012 and use it to this day. It's the i5 2450M version with 6GB of RAM, and I'm using it right now to write this comment. Unfortunately, it's also in need of a good internal cleaning (overheating) and a repair of a broken hinge, and your video is such an inspiration for anyone who wants to do these repairs at home. Thank you very much!
Mate, what you said is the exact same case with me! Works fine for me even until now. Turned 10 this October. I'm having the same issues with overheating, gotta have it internally cleaned. Cheers!
@@soumyashreebiswal14 a clean on the heat sink system and thermal paste replacement and it will be good to go! Unless from the fragile hinges, this laptop is very well built and a good computer even today.

I've had mine since 2011 but haven't used it much since the hinge broke. Shockingly, it can still play Fortnite and Rocket League at respectable frame rates. That processor is a trooper.
I donno how but somehow it is still running all these great games for all this years. It really was ahade of it's time ❤

But we love your work so please consider us. We may need to watch chapter by chapter like a novel so please mark the longer ones with chapters.
PS: Guys like Jerryrigeverything have crazy editing skills to shorten videos like while removing 10 screws he only uses a couple of seconds. Time lapse also works. See some of his videos and you'll know what I'm talking about. This is a polite request. Thanks.

I brought this laptop in 2011 and still working like a pro
Awesome job! I have the same laptop, and it's now in it's eleventh year, and still going strong. I've had it apart at least seven times (some mistakes made me go back in) to change the thermal pads/paste (I think this video shows just thermal past being used, but pads are better on one surface, I forget which), fan, base, battery. I was going to keep it going forever, but now I think it's time to get a new one before any new problems. But I'd love to upgrade it and keep it going, if I had the time...

I exactly have this model laptop and it still runs like a charm without issues. All it needs is change of thermal paste every 2 years. Changed the battery and keyboard at 8 year age of it. It's now 11 years old
I think these models will keep running until the next century

I find it unbelievable how much good tech we waste... Specially in the so called "developed world". I have always wanted to CNC a new aluminium body for an old laptop, give it a shiny new look. Shout out to Endless team who is re-using old hardware and re-purposing it for people who need them in countries where tech can't be treated as toilet paper.

This is exactly the laptop I had from 2011 till a year ago. I bought the i7 2630qm with 6gb of ram and nvidia 525m video card. It lasted me through uni and beyond. Everything still works great and it's just as fast on day to day tasks as my custom built pc. It used to overheat, even with new thermal paste applied, so I used liquid metal instead. It now barely ever gets above 90 degrees. It has its resting place in my living room for cuasual web browsing and video watching. Cheers!

i have had one since 2012. this laptop is still very capable even by today's standard. upgraded mine with 8 gig ram and 480gb ssd in 2015.

this laptop is kinda beast dude. I've used it from 2014 to 2020. Mine was i7 2670QM, 8G, 640G7200rpm. It was able to handle Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects in the same time. Altough the battery is sucks, 2 times get replace and then the IC charge is broken.

I have this laptop model, I bought it in 2012, I've ordered a new SSD that should arrive tomorrow, so Hopefully it would finally get its first upgrade after all those years lol
No matter if the framerate is pretty low, the important thing is the game is playable and no crash.

This video is great. I have this same laptop bought it in 2011 but it has Intel i5 and 4 Gigas Ram. Recently I bought and Asus TUF but I dont want to discard my "old" Dell Inspiron and your video was the green flag to update it. Mine has keyboard and display fully working so it would be easier. Hint: Always check the voltage on the CMOS 2032 battery. Show viewers voltage and simple replacement. Usually necessary on older laptops.
