      @@Friendlychicken2030 CRC QD Contact Cleaner 02130 or 03070. If you need something more aggressive, CRC Lectra Clean 02018. Just be warned that it will instantly destroy and discolor plastics like ABS, Polycarbonate or plexiglass. It's usually safe on thermoplastics and resins used on circuit board components. I use it to clean off capacitor residue from leaked capacitors, which it does way better than isopropyl alcohol.
      If you need to clean connectors, Deoxit Gold G5 or CRC 2-26. Both are safe for energized parts, just make sure to wipe the excess off.
      There are other brands of cleaners out there, I'm just most familiar with these since I use them all the time.

    Great job. Please disregard all of the snarky and unrespectful comments. You do great work and this was an entertaining video. Who cares if the computer is a little bit old...the point was obviously never to 'save a computer' but to show how it could be done and to show the skills it takes to make an trashed out computer look and run brand new again. Again, GREAT work!

    • @ElysetheEevee
      @ElysetheEevee 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "...A* trashed out computer...."
      You only use "an" before words that start with a vowel sound. A "T" creates a consonant sound, so you'd use the article "a" before it.
      I think most people here are simply describing observations. Basic comments that don't outright praise someone aren't always negative. I haven't seen very many comments at all that are truly being "snarky" or unproductive.

    I restore/build computers for a living and I can say that this was an IMMACULATE job. You certainly deserve the 1M.
    Ps.: As constructive criticism, the mention of the 1M mark over and over and over kind of took away from the video because after a few times it starts to get a bit off putting…

      The level of dust in this laptop isn't fake. I've done computer repair for over 25 years, and laptops do get this bad when neglected. If it was used by a mechanic, that makes it even worse. I have a mechanic buddy that I do IT support for, and his systems regularly get this bad from being in a dusty garage exposed to the elements.
      College student laptops are the next worst, being shoved in all sorts of bags while running, thrown about everywhere. They get pretty broken real quick.

    The restoration is great but why do you not connect the keyboard and the Power Button?

    • @RestorationDivision
      @RestorationDivision  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for this insight and accuracy. First, this laptop does not need to connect the power button, because the power button does not have a cable that needs to be connected somewhere. Actually, this button is soldered on the motherboard. I hope this ambiguity has been resolved for you by referring to the video again. Otherwise, you can contact me through the email listed in the About section of the channel, so that I can answer your questions in more detail.
      Regarding not connecting the flat keyboard cable, you probably did not watch the whole video. The fact that the part related to connecting the flat keyboard cable to the motherboard is not available in the video, does not mean that the keyboard is not connected to the laptop! right?
      Just because I didn't want it to be a repeated shot in the video, I stopped recording this part.
      In the part where I close the door on the part related to the flat keyboard cable, the C frame is not yet connected to the laptop. But after connecting the C frame to which the keyboard is connected, I opened the cover on the back of the laptop again and connected the keyboard flat cable to the motherboard.
      I hope this explanation has guided you and you will enjoy this video and future videos.♥♥

    None of the keys or trackpad has clean spots where the laptop was actually used and the back and screen have been removed not broken off. I have 7 years experience repairing laptops and I call shenanigans.

    You have to be crazy to restore a Lenovo laptop, the worst plastics on the laptop market. Good job but not worth it, the cost exceeds what you get.
