- Don Haskins creates history by selecting seven African-American players in his basketball team named Texas Western Miners. The team gets criticised by everyone, but they try to win against all odds.
Movie name: Glory Road (2006)
The hate and endurance these people had to go through is just nothing short of amazing, I don’t think it’s even normal, such an impeccable mental strength those boys had to survival in such a hostile environment. They’re unsung heroes
Has this level of hatred changed?
Yeah
@@LaRosa121 nope
@@LaRosa121 NO! They just do it in secret and covertly behind the scenes like housing and jobs etc...
A little but in an imperfect world it doesn't look good 😔
The MOST IMPORTANT PERSON TO SPEARHEAD BLACK PLAYERS PLAYING AT AN ELITE LEVEL...KUDOS & THANK YOU COACH DON HASKINS 🙏🏾 ❤🎉
Necessity often forces people to look outside of conventional norms (UTEP had a hard time recruiting perceived 5* recruits). Such an odd thought process people had back then. UTEP won the championship 1966 when the conventional wisdom was black people can't succeed in college basketball. Yet, the best players in the NBA were 2 black people: Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. With Russell being the key component of the Celtics 11 championships.
The best true stories of all time. Don Haskins really made national championship history
One of my favorite films, still got it on dvd. Great film…..so deep man.
What's the name of the movie
@@jerinvalentine07 Glory Road
Really underrated film
Don Haskins and all his players changed basketball forever. How gutsy were they 🦾💪🦾💪.
Very inspiring movie I watch this about 10 times
The player called Roy in this video is actually called Nevil Shed.
I remember watching this in class in 8th grade 2 years after the movie came out. A lot of the movies we watched in that class were amazing. This was one of the best, even though some white kids tried to make jokes about it.
Do you remember the name
@@philipchang4453 it’s in the description. Glory Road
Roy's name was Neville, not Roy. If you knew the movie you would know that. And the second party was a house party, not a club. School president, not school board chairman. There was no division to win. The foul was called on Lattin, and it was a technical, not Willie. Rupp never encouraged his team to get dirty. Six obvious, and glaring mistakes makes me wonder just what you watched, the Coles Notes version for dummies??
Probably a ChatGPT summarization of the movie. That's what I think.
Love this film and recap. Thank you.
What the movie called?
@@686-NeiiTekaeko movie is called Glory Road.
Thanks and blessings to all that paved the way. JMO
Tariffic movie I've seen it about 12 times. I hate all the garbage that they endured but it showed how anybody could play if they worked at it.
Love it. I love being from El Paso 🔥
This was a great movie and constantly recommended .....other great sports films are Invictus and 42. These films have the message of "justice" .....

They dont know what the black genes are capable of in this sport at that time.
Lol I swear 😂😂😂😂,and funny enough it takes a high level of cognitive ability to do what black basket ball payers do.
@@tomieke4717 dm black genes lol
What Black humans are capable not genes.
Yuck. Youre comment is so gross.

@@willardmatsaudza3101 And now they are the face of Basketball and Football
To all of the racist folks
Let that sink in
@@Antonio-fj5gs The sad part is that young black men eagerly play for all these ex-Jim Crow schools whose alumni and fans are still massively racist.
Yeah. All what y'all needed was a white man telling you how to play.
Let sink in that
