Which should be completely understandable. 1, Chris is a HUUUUUGE Megadeth fan so this is a dream come true for him. 2, Megadeth is fuckin legendary. They're one of THE BIGGEST bands on earth, bar none. When Mustaine asks you for something, you don't say no lol. Especially once you see the paycheck ;)

      Their last album debuted at number 6 on the billboard 200 even though many people hated it... so imagine how many they'd sell if everyone loved it. I could see them getting a #1 record debut in the near future. Yes, despite the massive drop in album sales for musical acts worldwide thanks to the internet and piracy, Megadeth still sells a shit ton of records. They're one of the biggest metal/rock bands in the world, at the moment.

    I had the privilege to meet the guys in LoG many years ago, and also rather recently. The first time I met them was on their first Ozzfest tour. John, Chris, Mark, and Willie were cool as hell and very chill, and laid back. Randy.........was a really, really big DICK. He was drunk as hell, and his bandmates eventually told him to go in the bus and "do something useful like passing out in the Fkng bus, and stop acting like an asshole!!!" The last time I met them, all the guys were really cool and chill, and Randy was especially down to earth and friendly.

    • @theblondesiouxsiesioux
      @theblondesiouxsiesioux 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a punk rocker, Lamb of god has always been one of my favorite metal bands because of the nature of their songs, and it makes sense cause Randy was/is a punk.
      P.S. Many punk rockers, myself included, do like a decent amount of metal (usually thrash metal, though, these days it seems like black metal is one a lot of 'em like, but whateva) and every punk always has atleast one metal band that is near and dear in their heart. We just obviously prefer punk music and to a greater extent like the lifestyle and culture. A decent amount of punk bands have obvious influnces from metal bands, and a lot of really good punk bands have said metal influences.
      Anyway, don't really know where this comment is coming from or going to but figured I'd still say something lolz.
      Have a great day.

      As a punk rocker I can vouche that a lot of punks are dumbass idiots, I can vouche a very high number of them are probably posers who don't have any idea what they're actually talking about and won't be punk for very long, and some are actually legit mentally ill. But I can also vouche that there is also a decent percentage of punk rockers that are very intelligent, very well spoken individuals. You just need to get to know them, as most punks have social issues and rough exteriors.

    I was mildly inrigued when my friend showed me New American Gospel in high school, but I wasn't really hooked until I later saw the video for Ruin on headbangers ball and then that same month heard 11th hour on the Freddy Vs. Jason soundtrack.
    That's when I became so hooked on what seemed like a genius style that I had to get As The Palaces Burn. That album, start to finish, is one of my top 3 to this day. Ashes Of The Wake was my soundtrack while I was joining the Army, which probably reveals my compartmentaling mind a bit since I agreed with Randy's views on principle, but was still volunteering to join the Iraq war... on principle.
    I bought the Burn The Priest album at an FYE with a sticker that said "File under 'Lamb Of God'," and only liked one song. I bought NAG around the same time and loved the structure of one song, but couldn't stand the coffee can drums and Randy's unintelligible and high pitched vocals on most of the songs.
    Palaces and Ashes are LOG to me. I don't dislike their new stuff, it's just not as emotionally relevant to me because of when, how, and why I found and loved those albums the way that I did and still do. And since I own those albums, I can enjoy them whenever I want without demanding that the band release new music that sounds like their old stuff. Because they have their end of what they do, and I have our end of what they do. I'm lucky enough not to have to live it, so I can stay happily stuck in the past.
    They can't, or else they'd become another Megadeth. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    He says people can't have been fans since 7 years old... I'm 38, so I was a teen when they were burn the priest, however; I've been a metalhead since I was exactly 7. My parents listened to hard rock and early metal, and my 16 year old neighbor introduced me to underground metal with their permission in 1988, when I was exactly 7. He'd give me dubs of all his newly acquired cassettes, and I was listening to stuff from Europe, and the Florida death metal scene.
    Randy highly underestimates the ability of children. Sure, 90% of them are probably full of shit, but that still leaves 100 in every thousand telling the truth.

    • @xjesusxchristx
      @xjesusxchristx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not to mention anyone who's parents were listening to them when they may have been 7.
      And he comments about being from a local scene... Yeah well guys like me who grew up in the days of tape trading were hearing local bands from all over the world. Whats his point? I heard the Burn the Priest release here in Vancouver... When you're into underground metal you search these things out, and end up in world wide trading lanes. People still do it today, but the internet made it far easier.

    I don't know what it is about Randy but I've always been strangely fascinated by him? His appearance, voice, mannerisms. So strange, yet so interesting to me. Quite the character 😂

      you don't have to be a metal head to make metal music. metal is just how you express yourself in music and how you combine your influences (from all genres) into something that is your own.

      well if he came from punk/hardcore background... he's more LIKE a punk at heart. and he is a singer in a band for living and that's Punk lifestyle too. so all good for me he doesn't need to be a metal head :)
