Well its hard to look :D when you're screaming ;-) But yeah, Matt is such a great chill guy. You should check out his YT channel (if you haven't already).
i met Matt october 2018 along with the rest of the band, i can confirm hes exactly like this in person with fans. hes super chill and friendly as are all the band members. I got genuine handshakes and smiles from them all along with from the heart "Thanks for coming out and seeing us". Matt offered to sign our passes even though we didnt ask jokingly adding "Maybe itll be worth something one day" while chuckling. He took the time to address each and every fan that came through, learned there names, what their favorite Trivium song was, and wished them a great time at the show. As i went to leave i turned around and said " Hey Matt, best of luck to you and your wife with the twins" he grabbed my hand again, threw up some devil horns, and said "Thank you so much man, im glad you're part of our family". hes truly the classiest rock star.
Its been a while since you commented this, but it still shows you how they care about their fans. They know that we are crucial to their success and why their job is so great for them. They take care not to forget that.
Can confirm, have met them all several different times over the years and EVERY time they are all so genuinely happy to shake hands and talk to fans. Corey even bummed a smoke off of me waaaay back haha good times!!
He does streams on Twitch. He is really awesome. Starts off with 4 or 5 Trivium songs then does a acoustic cover that a subscriber picks then depending on the day its either gaming or basically chatting
Its an awesome band (my first tattoo was this band) if i can recommend you one album (all of them for sure) but my favorite one is shogun its a solid album!!!
I saw them when they toured with Slipknot and Coheed & Cambria. I had never heard of them before that night, but fuck did they absolutely kill it. I definitely know who they are now.
TheFrayedEndsOfSanity 01 I personally don't like them..... Travis Smith was an incredible drummer, now that he's gone the drumming is just boring to me. Also they're sound is way too mainstream sounding.....almost like Nickelback came and took over their bodies.
If anyone hasn't seen Trivium live yet, whether you listen to them or not, I'd highly recommend trying to catch a show. They're absolutely incredible live and Matt has 10/10 stage presence.
His screaming, as far as consistency goes, is on its own level now days. It's insane to see the work he has put in and the progress he's made over the years.
This is some good stuff right here! Everyone thought with Silence in the Snow that he completely gave up on singing because the band wanted to go "mainstream" but people forget he completely blew his voice out and couldn't sing like that anymore... now hearing that he actually KNOWS how to sing in that style, we'll hopefully hear the next trivium album in that style again! :D
Matt seems like such a professional guy that you could have a drink and a well discussed conversation with. I'd pay so much just to be able to talk to him about music for an hour.
I enjoyed how this guy performed his interview respectfully. He wasn't sarcastic and condescending like some interviewers are. Definitely worth subscribing to!
May not be a huge fan of the music Trivium has been releasing recently (I don’t care because I still have their old stuff), but I will always appreciate Matt as a musician and person Seems like one of the most down to earth and humble people, and I’d love to meet him.
He seems like a really nice guy. I wish someone would put some of these proper singing/ screaming techniques online cause I blew out my voice a couple of years too it's pretty sad.

I would advise against going the route of teaching yourself to sing by any kind of online lessons. I practiced for over a year with the "Zen of Screaming" and "Brett Manning's Singing success" by myself, without supervision and I screwed up my voice. The techniques in those tutorials are spot on but as an amateur you probably will not know what the hell you are doing. What an intelligent gentleman. Funny though, He remembers every band in every venue he’s ever played with but doesn’t quite remember what year he graduated high school. Metal.

There old bass player left and they got this kid from a band called Metal Militia who also played at Fuel Fest and sang and played Bass. And I've seen the band live a couple of times and loved it. I gotta say that a big part of why I gravitated towards the band is ... Man, I saw Matt when he was ridiculously young and Ascendancy wasn't even out fully, I think just a single on the Ozzfest CD I got every year from going. Must have been 2004 because it had As I Lay Dying as well on there. Dude put on a hell of a show even though no one really knew who he was. It just kicked ass and we had a blast, if he ever sees this, my friend Larry and I spent our mid to late teens obsessed with Trivium
