@@dravenvigil4790 Lol That's Southerners for you. Me and my friends used to crack each others knuckles. It's just kind of a "friendly" thing. Hard to explain. Haha
Why do people hate Phil so much? If it weren't for him Pantera would have remained a kind of heavy glam metal band. We never would have gotten Cowboys from Hell or any other kickass Pantera albums if not for Phil.
well, a lot of people blame him (somehwhat) for the death of Dimebag, including Dime's bro Vinny, the drummer. Long story short, Phil kickstarted his own band, Down, and told his band-mates he would return to make another album in about a year. He did not honor this agreement, and left his band hanging for (if I remember correctly) three years or so. Dimebag apparently became very depressed, and the remaining band-mates opted to quit, and form their own band, Damageplan. Unfortunately, someone in the audience at a show, most likely disgruntled about the break up of Pantera, shot Dimebag in the face, then immediately tried to hunt down Vinny. This is why many former fans don't like Phil, myself included, I don't know the guy, but his unapologetic attitude towards the break up of Pantera makes me think he's kind of an asshole. I don't hate him, but I will admit I do judge him a little disregarding his band.
That isn't because he was an asshole. He struggled with intense substance abuse and medical recovery for a part of those three years. Before you judge, please learn more facts instead of opinions. Thanks again.
I have seen this interview a million times... still my favorite Wiki Fact/Fiction. The look on his face while Phil tells the fire story for 10 years! Lol!!!
As he started telling the story of burning down part of his house i thought they had some soundscape in the background but no... the fire alarms are going off in the shopping centre across the road, the fire trucks are almost here by the sounds of it.... This dude has a powerful voice!

Phil's good people. I don't understand why people are all complaining about his attitude. I'm the same fucking way. Tired, high, old, former heroin addicts, drunk, belligerent, serious, arrogant, demanding respect. As we get older, we open up more. He's also been touring and recording for fucking ever. He's lived. He is still fucking living. So he's tired. He's himself. He opened up to this dude like he was Barbara Walters. Phil is just Phil. If you don't understand the guy, then don't fucking complain about who he is. He tells some great stories and is actually a great dude to get stoned with.

diceMEass hard lines sunken cheeks
Oh, damn that is a hell of a song. and it's kinda naughty too
I laughed so hard when he started popping the interviewer's knuckles out of the blue😂😂 lmfaoooo Phil is so fucking hilarious and fun
Yeah, unless he drinks white wine.
("Rrrring, lawyer!")
Same 😂😂😂
@@enforcement2 Nothing wrong with little bit of white wine.
The cracking of the fingers was so funny and random. Phil is so intimidating..
He’s really not.
cazza649 say it to his face, look him in the eye, then don’t flinch when and how he responds...
It’s a vulgar display of power
Phil is a dude I would want by my side during a zombie apocalypse.
Nah, he'd go too soon. He'd go punching them not giving a shit. I'd personally pick Dexter Holland or Milo Aukerman so they help out with homemade bombs, crops to feed ourselves etc. I'd be the muscle
@@jacquesmesrine8031nah Phil would die early but you know he’s going out ride or die holding them off, phil is 100% that type of dude
A dumb druck idiot? Ok bro.
dude had a tough life (pain, drugs, being dead for 5 minutes), so dont be so shocked... its fucking phil anselmo. be glad he's still around giving interviews for YOU.
He need not bother, he has nothing to say and it takes him an hour to say it. Braindead
Hey boon. Please allow yourself to shut the fuck up boy
That's what heroin abuse mixed with drinking for years does to you.
I've done everything he's done except tour all over the world. And I hate giving interviews. I only give them to good cause events.
Donald Bollinger hi there, lowest comon denominator
Graham: "Maybe elaborate if you like."
Phil: - Elaborates -
Graham: 😲
*Maybe
I wish he could slow down a little, he talks so fast I can't quite catch what he is saying...
XD
I know. I had to set the speed on 0.25 just to understand him.
And maybe a lil bit more low pitched voice, he has this HIGH voice! Its almost annoying...
BeardedButtCrack 🤣
Lmao!
September 23, 1994, Sentrum scene Oslo, Norway. The most insane concert experience I have ever had. I was 15, sober and no drugs. But I have never been so high! Thanks Phil! RIP Dimebag! ❤️
i had no time for this shit called... "finishing high school"
Listening to Anselmo reminds me of sitting through an NA meeting.
😂😂😂😂
If Phil was hosting a NA meeting, fucking A Right It would be the funnest, funniest, coolest NA Meeting Ever. I'd buy tickets to hear Phil talk about addiction and recovery. Fuck Yeah I would!! He's a pretty smart Dude. He's been through a lot of Incredible times, and a S. load tough times. I can only, imagine the stories that he doesn't talk about. 💯🤘
I'm a recovering addict. 7 yrs clean and still kicking ass.
Pantera helped shape my generation. R.I.P Dime 🖤
Phil, does go on and on but, I love him I would listen to his stories forever and, I'd Fucking love every minute. 😁🤘🖤🎧🎼
Keep coming back
imagine doing stepwork with phil?😂😂

I love how he started cracking his fingers lol
Zachary Levier that was a little odd lol
@@dravenvigil4790 Lol That's Southerners for you. Me and my friends used to crack each others knuckles. It's just kind of a "friendly" thing. Hard to explain. Haha
He was like
"lets git this pussy squirmin for the camera".
And he did.
I fear this man, even behind a screen.
Why do people hate Phil so much? If it weren't for him Pantera would have remained a kind of heavy glam metal band. We never would have gotten Cowboys from Hell or any other kickass Pantera albums if not for Phil.
Very true, I think it was Dime and Phil that really took Pantera to that Next Level
Who hates?
well, a lot of people blame him (somehwhat) for the death of Dimebag, including Dime's bro Vinny, the drummer.
Dzh123 because most people are mindless pigheaded drones who will believe any bullshit shit-stirring journalists will churn out
I feel like my throat is hurting while listening to his voice😱😮

He sounds normal! lol
pud It sounds normal lmao
hahaha.. phil is normal in that speed..
Thank you for this.

@Seth Organ different band. Anselmo wasn't even on that stage
Seth Organ dude, wrong band. That was Damageplan, not Pantera.
@Seth Organ you seem angry
Felt bad for this poor kid.
I'd like to go back in time and hear 14 year old Phil screaming "FIRE!"
Omg, right?
Would've made a fire pantera song
I have seen this interview a million times... still my favorite Wiki Fact/Fiction. The look on his face while Phil tells the fire story for 10 years! Lol!!!
"I only burnt a great portion of the house" Lmao
Set the speed at 1.25 , thank me later .
MrHeezz what happens?
Phil's voice is just perfect at this speed
its perfect. then i couldnt help going to .5 and laughing my ass off
I think drugs makes him .25X slower than normal people. Thanks for the tip man.
0.2x bro.. not 0.25x
considering that normal people talk 1.25x faster than phil, then phil is (0.25/1.25)x slower...which is 0.2x
4 minutes into this interview Graham really started regretting setting this interview up...
You spelled seconds wrong.
@@messyfilms6325 I think it went pretty good until 2 minutes in: You wanna fight me??
@@messyfilms6325 u want a graham cookie or something.
As he started telling the story of burning down part of his house i thought they had some soundscape in the background but no... the fire alarms are going off in the shopping centre across the road, the fire trucks are almost here by the sounds of it.... This dude has a powerful voice!

Power Metal and Cowboys from Hell are my favorite Pantera albums. Amazing how Phil's speaking voice is so low yet he did such high pitched vocals on those albums. Power Metal is underrated and I wish Phil would acknowledge it.
even in interview, his voice are sooooo heavy and gravelly
I love how real he is
I respect it but it's a little sad since it's obvious he's high on opiates
Yaaaa, i figured he was high i just didn't know what.
Eddie Parada I thought he swore he was clean?
Adam Nihei he is Clean off hard drugs and hard liquor. You can't put herb or beer in that category but yeah technically no but then again yes i mean no one truly knows but he's still alive lol look at ozzie!
Billy frye Two great musicians.
Phil "I only burnt a great portion of the house down" Anselmo
By the time he's done answering I've forgotten the question and I'm really confused
Lol. Great interview. Phil is an entertaining guy, he's got a dry sense of humour & I think he's often misunderstood bless him.
Slurring your words tends to cause people to misunderstand you
But really, one of the better people on earth right now I would say...
My God, he's such a good storyteller...I love Phil. Great in person as well!
