- Mark Morton and Willie Adler demo their RA-100 and Mark V rigs while playing through new songs on their latest album Resolution.
Watch them play 'Ghost Walking', 'Desolation', 'The Number Six' from Resolution and 'Set to Fail' from the previous album Wrath. - เพลง
just watching Mark Morton looking several times to Willie...its a prove that they play as a team and not to see who's better....this guitar duo is special...
Painkiller488 X well said my friend
No its a competition who play better and faster. He is looking at the other guy a little like when you have a test in school.
the fact that he never looking back at him tells me that he doesn't give a fine damn fuck
its kidna ironic because he looks at him to prove he is better than him, that he can play without looking. There are interviews where he says he intentionally during shows would stand in front of willie looking at him to show he could play without looking while willie cant. Just some friendly bullying going on, boys will be boys
THAT'S RIGHT BRO INCREDIBLE PAIR
its scary how tight they play together
Its like they are being controlled via remote its insane
When you've played with someone for decades like they have, it just becomes natural
Joseph Madden you took the words right out of my mouth buddy
They got integrated Bluetooth pairing thing going on
First thing that came to my head
Mark, Willie, and Campbell are sooo underrated, it's ridiculous. Same as Troy, Brett, and Bill in Mastodon. Both bands even with drummers (Brann and Chris) who are freaking insanely good at their craft. Metal isn't just noise, it's so complicated, groovey, and fascinating. Metal head for life!
Amen! Such skill involved in it.
True.
Both these guy's are so under rated it's unreal
+Johnny Durex the guitar work on As the palaces burns and ashes of the wake absolutely brillant
Can't forget resolutions. Wow.
They suck shit.
And their live sound is fuckin' atrocious.
stormblast973 upload a video of you playing better...or shut up. Stupid trolls...
》 VENGEANCE 《 not even an interesting troll...
When I started playing back in the 80s my mentors stressed the importance of lead and speed. Dammit kids, rhythm is where the power and emotion is. I don't even like heavy music, but these two gentlemen raise the hair on my arms.
So this is why this band has the best guitar tone in metal.
Also, their playing is TIGHT!.
Diego Pujol I hope you've heard of Periphery since you commented haha
@Science Fiction stfu
Besides dimebag
@@aslanobrien7618 dimebags tone was next level shit dude
Mesa boogie all the way
10 years later and my mind is still blown!
I can’t believe this video is 10 years old. I remember watching this when I first starting learning guitar and my mind was blown, still blows my mind.
Thanks random youtube algorithm for reminding me this exists.
Haha same here dude - it just popped into my mind and here I am
Same!!
Im getting cramps just looking at willies hand.
My therapist: Willie's picking hand isn't real, it can't hurt you.
Willie's picking hand...
If I had a dime for every time I've watched this I could buy both their complete rigs and possibly the house they are in.. This is so awesome!! \…/\m/
Thanks, jason goldfinger - glad you dig it!
+MESA/Boogie do you know what the settings on the mark 5 are?
Sorry, chauncey666 - the settings we're not noted during the making of this video... :(
yeah its at the end of the video lmao. 6:43
Thanks, oldGnRrocks1 - Hadn't watched thids one for a while. Nice!
If the Kaijus ever attack, we'll need these guys to pilot a Jaeger.
I don't play guitar or any instrument for that matter but god damn this makes me smile. Love lamb of god!
start playing you will love it
This duo's collobration is really beyond this earth Lamb of God is one of the best metal bands ever.
I've watched this so many times and it gets better every time
These two create quite the tight and orchestral barrage of metal. Great playing.
My two most favorite guitarists on earth, and to hear them play together is so fluid its like liquid silk
They are both so synchronized with each other its fucking amazing.. They are connecting musically like Don Felder and Joe Walsh on Hotel California
Willie Adler has a unique way of playing but dude is a SICK guitarist and has written the dopest riffs ever. Him and Mark Morton are like a well oiled machine and their chemistry compliments each other very well \..../\m/ and they are CRIMINALLY UNDER FUXKING RATED \..../\m/
Mark Morton has always been one of my favorite guitarists! one of the chillest too!
the Desolution openning riff is so damn fucking fun to play, always gets me pumped up when i start playing, with the two chugs willie is hitting while hes about to play the riff, damn awesome.
The riffs in Ghost Walking are sometimes mind-boggling to me
+Ty Manning mind bottling to me too ;)
Those riffs slap HARD
3:00
That opening riff for Desolation is fucking BRUTAL!!!! I would've loved to be in the room when they put it together... Their faces had to light up like Christmas trees when they played it for the first time.
A half step down and they still play set to fail! Im so happy.
its so awsome to look at willie's head stock to see with the corner of my eyes how much coordination they have with their hands...damn
They are such a tight unit. Rest up guy's we're getting hungry for a new album
Insane how good they are
Willie's picking hand is just, it's so wrong haha
higler420 I was gonna say, Is that weird to anyone else or just me?
but he can play, that's all that matters.
+StormshadowGames Sure can! It really amazes me how you can almost hold the pick anyway you want, and as long as you practice your ass off it won't really matter. Look at guys like Marty Friedman, Misha Mansoor, Ola Englund and Willie here... they all hold the pick really odd, but you cannot deny their talents.
+higler420 I think Marty has the weirdest style I've seen. I've tried to do it and it just makes 0 sense to me. but hey, he can shred like a mofo with that, and to him, that's proper picking technique. it's just whatever works for you, is what you should do
+StormshadowGames Yep, watching the old Cacophony vids with him and Jason are insane, and then seeing him riffing away with Megadeth and still picking like he does, obviously it works for him. But he was going to practice enough to make anything work.
This guys are pretty tight...No matter how go you are NOTHING beats good old fashion rehearsal with the people you are working with.
Ghost walking is my favourite easily. Such a classic at this point, destroying my self trying to learn it.
I don't even listen to lamb of god but I keep coming back to these videos of Mark and Willie. The chemistry is great, their sound is pretty raw but the tightness is there !!! These 2 guitars riffs look to be so fucking fun to play.
i jammed for two hoirs after watching this..so inspiring
dont talk stupid
+thehomefront whats wrong with you dude?
Hoirs
This really says alot about mark and willie because prior to these videos being filmed they asked their fans what they wanted to hear in these videos and from what i remember mark played every song that his fans asked him to play. Both are great guys and great musicians. Thanks for being so loyal to your fans.
willie is beyond sick as a guitarist the way he holds the pick is a little unorthodox, but in my opinion makes him more unique adding to his mystique.. \.../\m/
Eh, Marty Friedmann's pick hand also looks like "WTF is he doing", but if it works, it works...
@iRockOnline Some of the best guitarists out there have horrid pick holding technique
@iRockOnline I know he's cringe, but Stevie T has a vid that made me aware of certain guitarists that are some of my faves. unfirtunately now, I can't unsee it. haha. Gotta love these 2 guitarists skills.
Thank you both for teaching me everything i ever learned on guitar. It means the world to me...
Willie Adler is self taught and he came up with the hardest songs on Lamb of God! Forgotten (Lost Angels) Crazy sick riffs he comes up with. Mark is excellent in solos! They stick like a magnet! They compliment their weaknesses greatly. Love it
their tones blend so well!
one of greatest duo guitars on the planet
I come back to this video all the time, have been for awhile. I swear, it gets better with every listen.
Every two years i watch this fuckin video, amazed every damn time at their teamwork
The Number Six riff catchy
Long live LAMB OF GOD
could listen to these riffs all day.❤
laura gallcher Me too, especially with you by my side 😍
Edwin Rivero cringe
Edwin Rivero creepy as fuck
Willie has an unique approach to playing and yet he manages to play these awesome riffs and melodies.
brilliant playing. doesn't matter what style of music you like to play.i'm an old guywho plays anything he can manage.anyone who criticises this music is jelous.or has no idea of how difficult it is to get to this level. thank you boys.
Willie's picking hand makes me uncomfortable
Ha!
Yeah. If he is just starting at playing guitar I would say he’s doing it wrong.
You could say the same about Marty Friedman but I don't think there's anyone going to be telling him that he's doing it wrong... :)
Will and Marty. I'm sure Adult Swim could make a weird cartoon from that.
@@Swampster70 Rick and Morty
Will and Marty
@@mysteriouscilantro2841
I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me. I know Rick and Morty were on Adult Swim, hence the joke about Will and Marty being a possible joke on that channel...
I'll just plug the fillings in my teeth into the output sockets of my Mk 5:25 for more enlightening entertainment.
There is no denying that Mark is perhaps a better guitarist *overall*. But Willie is definitely a great one as well. I know from The Making Of Sacrament that Willie is the one that usually comes up with great riffs. But he is not quite good at solo like Mark. And Mark's solos are prone to be kind of "blues" style...haha. They are definitely great guitarist! I love Lamb of God so much.
That's the beauty of bands like that, the strength of each compliments.
If I remember right, Mark has a music education while Willie is self-taught, which would make sense. Willie has a great ear and feel for playing, Mark has more theory and technical knowledge.
Yeah i can tell, it's the way willie picks. It has to be hard trying to palm mute.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how they are able to play seemingly seamless together.. definitely a phenomenal duo..
Willie is my favorite. I like his unique playing style.
It so enjoyable watching them play and enjoy it. Makes me smile the whole time.
Hands down the best dual guitar players! So technical and yet so clean and tight
That riff from The Number Six that plays at the start is probably, combined with the outro from Floods, my two favourite riffs ever
Everytime I think I'm caught up to mark and willie I watch them play another song and I realize I'll never catch up
this is one awesome group. Saw them in Myrtle Beach SC and they rocked out. My Favorite group.....LOG forever.
They are perfect together! Awsome riffs and solos
I've never seen a tighter guitar duo. Goddamn!!!!
Это вызывает уважение. Два человека, которые так синхронно играют... Это достойно аплодисментов.
Thank you for panning hard left and right. This is amazing
I love these LOG riffs ... Just awesome
Willie is a beast and he has unique picking tecnique
Am I the only one who thinks that willie's grip on his pick is weird as fuck?
+Ethan Belknap shit yeah, that's the first thing I noticed.
Isn't that trempicking?
+Ethan Belknap Ever seen Marty Friedman's picking hand? I swear, if you just get used to it, you can play with the craziest techniques.
My Name is Chef true true.
+My Name is Chef yeah seriously I think marty is the worst for that! he rips though love his work
I can't play guitar, but I love watching their left hands slide up and down the necks, they make it look so easy. God bless Lamb of God
Awesome playing, and these two amps sound fantastic together!
Okay, Willie is my favorite now that he has a Tigers hat on!
6:17 best part, love pinch harmonics!
These guys are just so great together I love trying to play their stuff
Amazing duo
How can these guys play the same exact tempo without a metronome or drummer and like fucking masters? ohh yeah its called FUCKING SKILL!!!!
+andre rist As long as the other musicians are perfect tempo-keeping machines, you should be good. Otherwise you kind of have to or at least nod your head or something. It becomes impossible not to when you play polyrhythms though. There's a video on TH-cam somewhere of Al Di Meola going ape-shit at another band member for not tapping his foot. It's pretty funny to watch but I understand where he's coming from.
the way they play, it says it all..how much they must practice a day, it's like they spend 20 hours per day for Getting the perfect grip, and keep getting better
Its realy cool when you see two guitarists playing a badass riff \m/
I just hope that Willie and Mark read this! "You're the reason why I still love music so much. please keep the shit going!!!
KILLIN IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still to this day writing riffs more complicated and complex than anyone else
they probably did thousands of shows live with multicam, yet they looks so decent in front of camera,i like it
Man this is still awesome
LOL this makes my dog bark hes so metal
6:16 Mark's face lol
Haha
^^
Every riff to every part of every fucking song they wrote is just top notch
yes honey yes! I just saw Lamb of God for the 2nd time @ the fox theater in Oakland. I love them so much! for your Malice is my favorite song.
No riffs from Ashes of the awake, damn.
It's the best album from them🤘🏼
absolutely ridiculous, seems impossible for 2 guys to play so tight. but they do it.
thanks for posting. it gives me some kind of inspiration
These two are underrated both are so fucking bad ass. Two of my favorites!
3:25
Mark: Alright Willie, next song!
Willie: Wait... just let me finish it...
yeah, give me a few minutes and I will post the tab to all that
Meu irmão vei, a cada quatro anos eu venho aqui e vejo esse vídeo de novo e fico impactado como da primeira vez. A sincronia dos caras é perfeita...
i could watch these 2 do this for hours.
Amp, cable, guitar and they deliver the same tone that's on the album!!!!
I guess Mesa has something to do with that...
Yeah... I'll just stick to playing drums
dylan diaz If Willie Adler made you feel intimidated about playing guitar.... You need to watch Chris Adler on the drums ;)
bce5150 Alot of lamb of gods riffs are hard as fuck to create a decent drum lick to if you listen to just the riffs and not the drum track, it forces you to create your own beat, especially if you dont already know what chris plays on that track. Their riffs are pure complicated gold \m/
Bed Head Absolutely! I'm actually a guitar player, but I have an totally humbled by Chris. Cool Trivia : Chris was actually a guitar player until he was 21 before taking up the drums. This is why he thinks he plays alongside the guitar as opposed to strictly with the rhythm section and is constantly striving to fill in any pocket left in the guitar landscape..
watch?v=nWR-Ag90xis
dylan diaz an honorable decision.
I have so much respect for people who can play guitar and are that good!
Damn this is just too good to be real.. the tones complement each other so well, they play so tight it's unreal.. world class duo, the riffs are out of this world, i mean, come on just listen to the six riff out of the mix.. just fucking perfect. Big up!
Not into LOG lyrics or vocals but, these two were "Born" to play together... Willie you rock. Always camo... do you kill for food?
Listen to instrumentals of LOG
These guys sure play a lot of muted single-note riffs. I don't hear them chugging on power chords much.
Yeah, they have never been a chugga chugga band.
Alex Wright
and yet still sound heavy as fuck atleast in my ears :D
they sound great none the less
Amazin right!
6672rock black label is pretty chugga chugga
I never really got into Lamb of God but I love watching these guys play
Love this band!! They all play together amazingly, and play really good live as well! Chris Adler is one of the best drummers of the last decade hands down!
No one is gonna mention that they played Ghost Walking on only one string
Some of these riffs... just wow. You have to be so fucking tight as guitarists to play those riffs at the same time. Goddamn Mark and Willie are just fucking perfect.
This is what you get and expect, after years of training, truely dedicated and badass guitarists !!!!
both are fantastic
Saying Willie has shitty technique is like saying Picasso has shitty technique. Just because its not the norm or what have you doesn't mean he isn't a genus because he is a fucking badass metal guitar supergod
ThirtySecond Exposure *cough* *cough* MARTY FRIEDMAN *cough* *cough*
Mark reminds me so much of Zach Galifianakis..
Haven't watched this yet. Already like it. And now I press play :)
So articulate, and on time its insane.
