    • @thetribalshow7664
      @thetribalshow7664  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They call it "Tumba" in local language. But this instrument is named after the number of strings, such as 'ik tara' as it has only one string and one is called 'ik' in Punjabi or Urdu language. This particular one you saw in video has three strings so that it is 'tin tara', Three is tin in our language.

    It smells like spirit for a reason. It isn't something to drink because drinking mouthwash to become intoxicated will get you real sick to where you go to the hospital or die since it isn't made to be ingested by the body by added chemicals such as menthol. small amounts will not hurt but if you drink a glass you will likely vomit it up or otherwise feel sick.
    from reading it seems as long as it is used as mouthwash to cleanse the mouth it is halal like hand sanitizers and the alcohol used to clean the skin area before blood is drawn for medical tests or an injection of medicine is done at the doctor.

    Even better than commercial mouthwash is rinsing your mouth with a 50/50 solution of water and 3% hydrogen peroxide. It instantly eliminates bad breath, quickly breaks down plaque, and whitens your teeth. Was the best recommendation my dentist ever gave me.

    You still need to brush (or miswak) to remove plaque. Mouth wash is used to get bacteria in the rest of your mouth and around your tonsils. Also what about tongue, do you guys ever use a tongue scraper of any kind?

    • @toomanyaccounts
      @toomanyaccounts 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      usually a toothbrush can be used on the tongue.

    • @kovi6203
      @kovi6203 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toomanyaccounts Can be, but it can damage (inflame) the tongue and sometimes can push bacteria further into the tongue. Usually though, brushing the tongue is simply ineffective.
      Or are you saying that is how they do it? Sorry if any confusion here.

    • @toomanyaccounts
      @toomanyaccounts 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kovi6203 no it is how must do it. usually the bristles are soft enough it doesn't cause a problem. if your tongue gets inflamed from a standard toothbrush then something is going on same with if you have pain from brushing your gums and teeth. the tongue is a lot hardier and resistant then you think. after all one does bite the tongue every few years which hurts and usually leaves a teeth imprint until the tongue pushes up that area.

    I feel.sad that people in other countries don't have access to proper mouth hygiene products. There should be a program to help those who want to properly care for their teeth. Now I understand why there is so much tooth loss and decay in other countries. Can you ask them if they want packages to take home of personal hygiene. Other things can be included. Deodorant and shampoos also, soaps. Especially for their children, who might be learning in school the ways we care for ourselves here.

  • @MGmirkin

    Definitely not to be ingested... The alcohol in it is not made for consumption. Also, some mouthwashs have fluoride now, which can be toxic if ingested in quantities larger than used in a little bit of toothpaste or a mouth rise (and then spit out).

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's typically used as part of a daily hygiene regimen...
      The idea being that one uses a toothbrush to clear away food and such, and the use the liquid to get in between teeth, loosen and remove any food particles there, and the alcohol also kills bacteria and viruses in the mouth and below/inside the gums where toothbrushes and such can't get to. In theory, to help prevent gum disease, etc.
      Though, a lot of people don't use it and just use toothbrush and toothpaste and call it good.
      There are also versions now that use things other than alcohol, so there's less of a "burning" feeling, but allegedly it still kills bacteria and whatnot without feeling like your mouth is entirely on fire....

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "cool" feeling afterward is from the 'mint' flavoring. It has a "cooling" feeling effect. Much like mint candies or cough drops make your throat feel cold while / after eating or using them.

    • @MGmirkin
      @MGmirkin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "The people who use it in daily life may enjoy using it"
      ...
      The alcohol variety? I honestly don't think **anyone** "enjoys" it. The alcohol mouthwash burns pretty bad as I recall. ;) Not really "enjoyable." Just something we endure in the name of trying to keep a healthy mouth and ward off gum disease, gum recession, tooth loss, etc.
      The non-alcohol version is better and much less painful, relatively refreshing feeling. There may still be a tiny bit of "burn" but it is far, far less and goes away quickly.
