    ----------------------------------
The realm of a cappella music has witnessed a magical alignment of stars. Voctave, the 11-member a cappella group renowned for their intricate harmonies and arrangements, has collaborated with power couple Kirstin Maldonado and Jeremy Lewis for a musical performance that is nothing short of enchanting: a medley of Disney love songs.
Hailing from Central Florida, Voctave has built a reputation for their musical versatility and innovation. Known for their creative arrangements across various genres, from Broadway to Disney, jazz standards, and even Christmas music, the group boasts a unique sound. It is a blend of classical group choral techniques with barbershop and gospel influences. Their origins are deeply rooted in Disney, with many members being performers from the Voices of Liberty a cappella group at Walt Disney World's Epcot[4]. This connection makes their venture into a Disney love medley not just appropriate but also profoundly fitting.
In this melodic collaboration, Kirstin Maldonado and Jeremy Lewis feature as the lead vocalists. Maldonado, a member of the Grammy Award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix, brings a rich musical background to the table. Her experience in creating intricate harmonies aligns perfectly with Voctave's style, making her an ideal lead for this project. On the other hand, Jeremy Lewis adds his unique flair to the mix, blending his theatrical experience with his vocal prowess.
The medley, aptly named the "Disney Love Medley," is a harmonious fusion of timeless Disney love songs. The intricate and beautiful aural tapestry Voctave is known for serves as the backbone of the medley, providing the framework upon which Maldonado and Lewis lay their vocal talents. The result is a musical masterpiece that pays homage to the romance and magic Disney is famous for, through an auditory journey that is both nostalgic and innovative.
As the performance unfolds, the seamless blending of voices and the sophisticated arrangement highlights the musical brilliance of all involved. Maldonado's and Lewis's lead vocals gracefully weave in and out of the beautiful network of harmonies provided by Voctave, creating a musical experience that is both heartwarming and exhilarating. It's a testament to the remarkable potential of collaborative music and the power of song to traverse boundaries and bring together unique talents.
As a first-time listener and an acting coach, I've had the privilege of experiencing this exceptional performance and sharing my reactions in a TH-cam video titled, "Voctave (Feat. Kirstin Maldonado & Jeremy Lewis) - Disney Medley: Acting Coach First Time Reaction". This reaction video dives into the intricacies of the performance, commenting on the vocal dynamics, harmonization, and the emotional depth that this collaborative piece brings to the table.
This collaboration is more than just a simple medley of songs; it's a love letter to Disney, a celebration of music, and a testament to the power of collaboration. It's a remarkable showcase of talent where every note, every harmony, and every voice serves a purpose, blending together to create a magical musical experience.
So, come join the musical journey, and immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Disney, as brought to life by Voctave, Kirstin Maldonado, and Jeremy Lewis. It promises to be an experience filled with love, joy, and a fair share of Disney magic.

Voctave always has a beautiful and joyful sound. Jamie Ray is a singer in the group and does their arrangements! Kate Lott is the high soprano. Each of the members is exceptional. I would love if you added Voctave to your rotation!
They have some of the very BEST holiday and Christmas music.

These are vocals that truly make you believe that there are gifts from our creator that make us simply "feel". I love Voctave. I used to be a singer/actor at Disney World and many of these folks were part of Voices of Liberty at EPCOT. Their Christmas stuff is incredible (Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Mary Did You Know featuring Mark Lowrey the song writer) and their Prince of Egypt Medley is simply unbelievable and breathtaking. Thank you for this WONDERFUL reaction. Love your channel.

Thank you, Gary Life, for your comment and for being a subscriber for a year! I appreciate your kind words and your connection to the vocals in the video. It's truly remarkable how certain voices and performances can touch our hearts and make us feel deeply. Voctave is an exceptional group, and it's fantastic that you have a personal connection to some of the members from their time at Disney World. Their Christmas music and Prince of Egypt Medley sound incredible, and I'll definitely check them out. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the reaction and love the channel. Your support means a lot to me. Thank you again.

You can really tell that many of them were in Voices of Liberty - there are usually a few moments in a lot of their arrangements that sound very much similar to that style (for instance, when Voctave sings "Destiny calls you, you must be strong" in You'll be in my Heart.) Jamey really is a talented arranger and knows how to best use each voice in each song.

@@tnae I didn't think there was another guy whose first response to these unbelievable singers would be tears. I have a quirk in my brain. I do not get goosebumps as a response to thrilling events whether it's a sporting event where some unexpected ending that turned the world upside down happens. Say a one in a million ending happened, or as a response to an unexpected piece of music reaches in and grabs your emotions. I would say 98% of the responses would be to get 'chills' or goosebumps. I only get those when I am cold. For the other, I cry. I have been that way since I was 5. I was a 'hit' in jr. high and high school as you might imagine.
Well enough about my strangeness. I was pleasantly surprised by your response because I was having the same response even though I've seen this video 50+ times. Kate Lott who is the high voice soaring over the others is such an amazing voice. She reminds me of my mother who had a similar vocal profile.
Anyway I just wanted you to know there is at least one other person out here that can appreciate your initial response.

There is a great pre-video snippet with Kirstie and Jeremy around the piano w/ Voctave doing a run through of the song. Kate hits, belts, and holds a high note and they both shake their heads. Jeremy had a big grin in most of these shots , too.

The song choices often get over looked they represent 3 types of love: romantic, maternal, and self love. Kirstin is a Disney Princess. Jeremy did great but is also Kirstin's ex fiancé. The last note Kirstin holds gets me every single time. Oh and Voctave is amazing as always.

This is Voctave's most viewed video on their YT channel, and possibly Kirsten's most viewed Non-PTX video.
Also, promoting PTX, they did cover of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (from The Lion King, by Elton John). Nice arrangement, costumes, and music video, and it has also a separate Behind The Scene vidoe.

One of my all time favs from any group. Mind blowing harmonies. Kirsten actual came to Jamie Ray (founer of and arranger for this group) and asked if she could do a song with them. They were pretty new at the time and were thrilled to welcome her. Her boyfriend at the time, Jeremy, had been part of another group and Jamie wrote a part for him as well. Jeremy had left fulltime singing to become internet marketing guru and actually advised this group on coming up the name Voctave and expanding their online presence.
When you get a little closer to the holidays, check out Voctave's version of "Mary did You Know" featuring the author of the lyrics of that song. Have tissues nearby.

I actually enjoy watching Jeremy at the finale of this song. Actually, whenever Voctave comes in strong. He looks so excited and amazed, like he can't believe what's he's hearing around him. It's adorable. 😆

Voctave always gets to me, too. I think their Princess Medley makes me cry every time in the best way! They just dropped a very well produced heroes/villians medley a few days ago. I would also love to see you swing around to VoicePlay again -- maybe Valhalla Calling or Greatest Showman. Also, the bass of VoicePlay, Geoff Castellucci just released I See Fire from The Hobbit. I think you'd really enjoy these more theater-like costumed productions.

Loved your reaction and how you pulled out so many nuances most people don't hear on their own. I love everything Voctave does and now consider them the best of the best in Acapella. Please keep reacting to Voctave. I loved watching both Kristin and Jeremy smiling in disbelief listening to what is going on around them.

Most of the singers from Voctave are former Voice Of Liberty from the American Adventure at EPCOT. They have a very specific sound that was created by Derric Johnson. Their music is VERY difficult for someone isn't trained properly.

I know it's been a minute... I really enjoyed your facial expressions and body language. You were clearly impressed! I always smile watching Jeremy and Kirsten as THEY are blown away by Voctave. The passage you called out uses off-beat syncopation, and SOME of the harmonies are dissonant. Jamey Ray (the arranger) is masterful when it comes to backing vocal brilliance. Voctave brings tears to MY eyes as well. They are amazing. Great reaction!!

When you spoke about the dissonance, it’s syncopated a-harmonic dissonance between three distinct harmonic groups. If you listen closely, the sound has been mixed to make the left and right channels notes harmonise between groups a half step after the preceding one, while being dissonant within their own pair.
Insanely hard to mix, never mind pull off live. Mind blowing.

What a wonderful reaction! New subscriber here for more Voctave! This is a great rabbit hole to fall down and Voctave literally can give you goosebumps and bring you to tears with any of their songs. Their arrangements (by Jamie Ray, one of the tenor/baritones) are simply out-of-this-world-amazing! He knows each of their voices and caters his arranging accordingly. Two great examples of this are the Disney Princess Medley, and the Disney Heroes & Villains Medley (the video of it just came out yesterday!); but I have to ask that you PLEASE, please react to their Prince of Egypt Medley (audio only) but just WOW! AND, their phenomenal rendition of You Will Be Found - tissues required for both. When it's time any of their Christmas arrangements are fantastic and they have many other Disney and Broadway options too.

Great Reaction! New subscriber! Looking forward to what else you have. More Voctave please! They were incredible! And all that without a Beat-Boxer, old school the way A Capella and Barbershop were always done before but with refinement and precision, like a vocal orchestra! Just incredible!
And may I just give it up for Jeremy too. I know most people came to heart her but his voice was like velvet! OMG! Why did he not continue with singing? Very good performance all round. This is why these people can make a living by singing, they are all that good!
