The guy she’s singing with is Jeremy Michael Lewis, a singer that was in another acapella group that she met through the Sing Off (different season) and started dating and actually announced their engagement a month or so after this video came out. The relationship ended about a month before their wedding was to take place however, and she is now happily engaged again and has a beautiful baby girl. The young lady in the black dress hitting the high notes up into the atmosphere is Kate Lott. She is phenomenal, as are all of Voctave.
Oh my goodness, Viking! Such a beautiful and beautifully emotional reaction. Thank you for being so vulnerable. I think you have earned a fun song to follow. Please watch The Wizard Of Ahhhs by Pentatonix and Todrick Hall. It is pure fun and sure to make you smile.
I watched it for the millionth time about an hour ago and cried the whole way through. I’ve watched like 3-4 reaction videos since and the waterworks have not stopped. You are not alone.
I was lucky enough to see Voctave in concert last year, they are absolutely impressive! I’d recommend their “Disney Princess Medley” if you really want to see the ladies do their thing!
Voctave's "Disney Princess Medley" would be a good next stop, but you can't go wrong with Voctave. For a metal-loving Viking with daughters, consider the all-sister trio from Monterrey Mexico "The Warning". Start with the music Video for "Evolve". The Warning Army will descend and lovingly guide your journey from there.
Loved your raw and honest reaction, just wonderful!!! No apologies needed. ❤ Voctave (sadly) is not as well known as they should be. Their richly layered arrangements are specifically crafted by Jamey Rey (he sings tenor/baritone with them) for each voice, knowing their strengths and what needs to be showcased for the song. Every single one of their beautiful songs will hit you in the feels because they are a masterclass of harmonies and dynamics and just pure vocals (no percussion or beatboxing - only one song I can think of with instruments, Remember Me). Princess Medley showcases the women, Heroes and Villains (their newest video), the men. You Will Be Found is something beyond special as well and The Prince of Egypt Medley is perhaps their best (audio only but you won’t care) work. They have other amazing collaborations and spectacular Christmas music too. Please keep Voctave in your rotation, you won’t be disappointed!!
Voctave is amazing! They always make me cry because it’s just so beautiful what they do with their arrangements and voices. They have more great Disney medleys but I think you would really enjoy their Great Movie Medley! ❤
Voctave is wonderful! You should definitely check out more of their songs. The woman singing those incredible high notes is Kate Lott, she has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard.
The first time I heard this lovely medley, every nerve in my body was quivering. And then as they built that hair-raising, dissonant chord just before the heavenly resolution of "I can go the distance." I came unglued. Thanks for posting your on-point and astute reaction. You, my friend *are* a Viking - and not in spite of your emotional intensity - but because of it.
Absolutely beautiful reaction! And so you know you're not any less of a Viking just because you show emotions. You're a modern Viking not an axe swinging 'Neanderthal' 😉. We all have different sides to us ❤ Just keep being you!!!
Voctave has it's own channel and they are amazing! Those two sopranos are amazing... everyone really is awesome. This medley specific is very emotional and it very nice to hear your story linked to these songs.
Amazing! Voctave is one of the best choirs to ever live! Really!! If you liked this one, try Disney Princess Medley, Holy Night, Prince of Egypt Medley, Mary did you know... So many good ones...
OMG! I am a mom to a daughter (same age as yours) and "I see the light" is one of my favorite songs ever. I'm right there with you! 😭😭😭 Love it but it gets me every time. Love your reactions and your pure emotions. Hugs
Yessss! And I already have a suggestion for you to follow this reaction! She did another collab with Voctave - Show Yourself. I’m not aware of any official video but even just the audio you can really hear her voice mature and change
Yes beautiful for sure! The group behind them is a Voctave! They are amazing. They are from Florida and tour all over the US. Many singers are also with the Voices of Liberty from Disneyworld and some are Barbershop Quartet singers. They are worth checking out. Check out the Disney Princess Medley and their movie theme song medley and other great pieces.
I haven’t even gotten through your introduction yet and I’m already wiping away tears, because I know the feeling you are talking about very well. I love your big heart!
As a bass singer, I can't describe how much I adored *FINALLY* hearing someone recognizing the quality of those dudes there. Kate is certainly wonderful, but come on... look at how effortlessly those guys hit and control those notes!! Also, thanx... I started crying before they even started singing, because I sang that song a lot to my babies. Anyway, thank you for sharing this, it was a wonderful experience!
This is beautiful. If you would like a real treat, listen to Kirstie several years later singing "Show Yourself" with Voctave. It's really good ! Thanks
So glad you checked out Voctave and loved it so much. They have so many beautiful songs but I think you'd like The Disney Princess Medley (all women in the group solo), The Villians/Heroes Medley (all men in the group solo), and their Great Movie Medley.
If you haven't heard the following 2 singers give a listen. You WILL NOT be disappointed, I PROMISE!!!!! David Phelps, OH Holy Night---beyond any other tenor on earth😊😊😊 Lucy Thomas----18 from England. She does some AMAZING songs you won't believe. Such a young talent going places.
TH-cam just recommended this video to me out of the blue... I have to agree that these are beautiful songs and the rendition of the medley is so soulful. The girl with the high notes is just mind-boggling. And finally, I can go the distance is also one of my absolute faves 💜
I may like (er, 'Love') 'PTX' the VERY BEST... I may appreciate 'VoicePlay' and 'Home Free' as being very special... I may recall 'Manhattan Transfer' so very fondly... BUT But, I'd say 'Voctive' has to be the most 'Professionally Gifted' A Cappella group of them all!
Oh, your reaction gave me goosebumps from the beginning to the end. Thanks for sharing your personal stories with these songs. This was emotional and beautiful. 😀
This is one of the best Voctave songs of all time, and now I recently rediscovered it from this, finding your video randomly in my feed - hadn’t listened to it in a long while. This arrangement is absolutely top notch and the harmonies are next-level amazing. Really awesome to see a reaction like this from a metal head. Your vulnerability in this video earned a subscribe from me!
Oh my gosh!! I have watched this many, many times and continue to hear new things. Loved your reaction because music is meant to reach down and squeeze your heart and for you, it clearly does! Keep going! ❤❤
I just found your channel and have gone through most of your reactions to this point. I love your Joy and it is so infectious that I cant stop smiling as you discover these songs that I know and those that I am just now discovering. I think you would love all the songs by Voctave and they will blow you away as much as Pentatonix to the point that I cry almost every time I hear most of their songs from pure Joy! Love the videos and look forward to hearing from you from now on! Side note, epic bad ass men are those that can show and feel emotion!
Just a thought...How many generatiions do you think real Viking men would last without the capacity and willingness for love? You don't owe us an explanation. Just listening to you speak about your children makes it a great reaction. The fabulous Kate Lott and Tiffany Coburn are both powerhouse sopranos but both can light on the high notes as delicately as a butterfly on a rose. The baritone in the dark red shirt is the amazing Jamey Ray who founded Voctave and writes all of their musical arrangments.❤ 😊
Great reaction - "liked" and "subscribed". Voctave is amazing. You ought to check out Voctave's "Disney Princess Medley", which features each of the ladies as a different Disney princess. And if you're willing to completely blow away any macho Viking image you might possess check out "Where Are You Christmas?" by Voctave (yes, it's a Christmas song so you might want to react to it during the holidays). If "Where Are You Christmas?" doesn't hit you HARD in the feels and have you reaching for the tissues then there is seriously something wrong with you! Please react to both of these!
First, dont ever ever apologize for being emotional while being in the presence of great art. That just shows that you are an open minded person, that can appreciate beauty. My personal favorite part of this video is when the two leads are shaking their heads in disbelief, because of what Voctave is doing. Second, if you really want your mind blown, you should see some of Voctave’s videos. I cant even discribe how insane it is. Their Disney Princess medley is my favorite, but also O come, all yeh faithfull is a song is a good song to react to. But you cant really go wrong with this group. You have no idea, i promise you!!
It can not be helped :p. I’m trying to be less sensitive to other’s perception but it can’t always be helpen. Getting better at it though ;). Voctave is one of those groups that I will revisit every once in a while when I’m the right mood for the best possible reaction ;). Rest assured… more to come!
@@VikingReactsThe lady whose voice is singing those high notes is the little blond on the far left as you look at the group of singers. Her name is Kate Lott and she makes the songs for me. How she can hit those notes without going shrill is beyond me. My mother was a classically trained soprano like Kate, she also has a way of covering those notes that renders a pleasing sound.
Viking, I have to say. This is one of the best reactions you've done. Just because you're an Epic, Badass man does not mean that you can't have emotions or feel things. I'm sure the same Vikings that went down in history as brave warriors had tears in their eyes when their daughters were born, or when their little girls had those rights of passage in their life, including getting married or moving out. Love is universal and everyone feels things. The same warrior who would go out and fight animals and men would hug and cherish their children that they came home to, knowing that they were able to live to cherish the things they were fighting for. Don't ever think that it's a detriment to let that part of you shine through. That being said, I am a certified Pentaholic, a Home Fry, and a Voiceplayer, but I absolutely LOVE Voctave. I don't think we have a name for the Voctave fans yet, Voctavites sounds a bit... odd, but whatever, I am one. Kate is the AMAZING soprano and she gives me chills EVERY TIME with her amazing high notes. Likewise, the entire group crushes everything they do and while so many talk about the big 3, I believe that Voctave and bunch of others are so deserving of love too and very few react to their songs. BYU Vocal Point is another group that crushes song after song, as does Rip Chord and many, many others. For a truly amazing trip, check out Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and featuring the amazing Geoff Castellucci, whom I know you already know and love. One note in that one is so amazing that you can literally see the camera shaking from it. Actually, Peter Hollens is known as the "Master of Layering" and has songs that are only him, yet it sounds like 50 or more people are singing as he layers his own voice on the arrangements. For amazing bass, you should also check out some of the things from The Bass Gang who all met on TikTok and perform completely separately together as they all live in various parts of the world. There was a GoFundMe to allow them all to meet up IRL to make music and it reached the goal, so hopefully we'll hear so much more amazing music from them in the future as well. Cheers, brother!
@@VikingReacts YES!! Voctavians sounds great! Also, I need to correct an error, Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens features Tim Foust from Home Free not Geoff. Still, it's amazing and well worth a listen.
I'm a little late getting around to watching and commenting on this video, but I wanted to say thank you. I have never looked at that song in that way, and when you flashed the pic of you and your kids, I immediately started crying. My kids are 22, 20, and 16 years old now, and the two oldest live far away. There were a lot of emotions coursing through me in that moment, and I needed that release. So thank you.
I love that we can see how much you are enjoying this. If you like this voctave Disney princess medley is amazing I think you’d love it. Thank you for the videos you always cheer me up I can’t help but smile when I watch you.
AGREE! The princess medley features the women. You can check out their recent released video Villains & Heroes Medley which features the men. Both are AMAZING!
I would like to have a much longer arm to reach way over there and pat you on your back and say, “There, there.” I love that music touches the emotion in you, as it should. Loved your reaction, as always. Peace …
As a "Swedish Viking" I can officially say, Lets have some Mjöd and cry some together... I have a soft spot for this songs and Voctave in general too :) ❤👍 Skål !
Great reaction Mr. Viking. Nothing wrong at all with being vulnerable and showing emotions - I'd argue that if you have the ability to show how and what you feel - you'll be much stronger!
I DON'T cry when listening to music, so I was totally surprised to find myself choking up throughout this medley. I have heard and enjoyed it so many times in the past, I couldn't possibly count. (I've been a Pentaholic since their first appearance on the Sing-Off in 2011.) But I'll never view this performance the same way again. I kept seeing little Julia's open eyes and, more significantly, my oldest daughter, Katelyn, who was 15 months old and sweetly sleeping on a hotel bed in China the first time I saw her open her eyes. Darn it, my eyes are swimming again! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and gifting me with such a wonderful memory and a new association to it. My girls are both off in the world, Katelyn across the country in Boston serving with Teach for America, and her sister, Kelsey, all the way in Macedonia, serving in the Peace Corps. You brought them both home to me for a few minutes this morning. Thank you! "Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength." --Saint Francis de Sale
Their Prince of Egypt Medley is a masterpiece. Even if you dont do a video for it, treat yourself to a listen and letbus know what you think. It is a treat my friend. Skol!
Beautiful reaction, my friend. Strong men can share their emotions. I encourage you check out more from Voctave. I consider them to be the finest "commercial" choir in the business. Between "Disney Princess Medley" and "Disney Heroes and Villains" you will hear each member in a solo capacity.
I dont think there is a music video out there of it. But speaking of beautiful songs about birth. Jon Anderson (of yes) wrote a song called Animation that is just stunning about Birth.
what a lovely reaction, I would love for you to react to the “disney princess medley” which focuses on the girls, and the “disney heroes & villains medley” which does the same but for the guys, both really awesome videos that showcase the talent of these beautiful people.
Perfectly beautiful and appropriate reaction for this- joy, tears and all! Good for you in allowing yourself to show the emotions that you are feeling. This medley is gorgeous for sure.
SKOL! Love hearing someone use that word....as a fan of the MN Vikings, we say it frequently! I have watched maybe 100 reactions to this song. This song continues to move me but your reaction has made me a sniveling idiot right next to you and I knew it was coming! GREAT GREAT GREAT Viking!
Great VOCTAVE...I think you like the highest possible standards in music and singing. Me, too. Nightwish, Floor Jansen, is fantastic in Symphonic Methal and the best in the world. VOCTAVE is the best in the world in acapella singing. They also work with Gospel musicians and singers (Sandi Patty, David Phelps and Mark Lowry) and a composer David T. Clydesdale.
haha wow- metalhead - what a great reaction! voctave is the best - always takes us back to a great disney moment! disney is the best! they sound just like the old disney movies harmonies we loved in our childhood ! aww nice- and congrats too - now u have a daughter - u gotta play disney princess medley for her too ! much love to u and urs - thx and love to u and urs
Had to switch accounts just to comment on my phone. I am glad to see one of my favorite reactors do a song I've watched almost every reaction made on TH-cam. It's a great medley The Disney princess medley is a must watch as well. It is incredible, just without the feature singers. Also, the wizard of ahhhhs is a video I've watched tons of reactors and a video you have to watch over and over to appreciate the effort. Anyways, thanks for the reaction. Skal!!!!🍻
They are not background singers. They are absolutely great individual singers. The soprano is not of this world good. Disney Princess Medley is a must.
In all actuality though I bet Kirsten wishes this video would just disappear. That is her ex fiance singing with her. Who pretty much used her to further his career.
The guy she’s singing with is Jeremy Michael Lewis, a singer that was in another acapella group that she met through the Sing Off (different season) and started dating and actually announced their engagement a month or so after this video came out. There's a number I was trying to decide between to showcase the sopranos of Voctave... but I think the Disney Princess Medley might be the best

Thank you!

Their Prince of Egypt Medley is a masterpiece. Even if you dont do a video for it, treat yourself to a listen and letbus know what you think. It is a treat my friend. Skol!
Voctave always move me. Someone Like You is my favorite!
This medley makes me tearful every time lol
I’m wondering if anyone had never heard of Voctave until Viking Reacts! ❤
Such a beautiful and heartwarming reaction 😊
Beautiful reaction, my friend. Strong men can share their emotions. I encourage you check out more from Voctave. I consider them to be the finest "commercial" choir in the business. Between "Disney Princess Medley" and "Disney Heroes and Villains" you will hear each member in a solo capacity.
YES!!! I was going to suggest the same! So, so good!!! 🎶❤
Congrats on hitting 20K!!
Thank you so much 😀
You should check out their Disney princess medley it’s so good
I recommend keeping the Voctave train going. Check out their Prince of Egypt and Disney Princess medleys.
I dont think there is a music video out there of it. But speaking of beautiful songs about birth. Jon Anderson (of yes) wrote a song called Animation that is just stunning about Birth.
Loved this whole video Viking❤ so wonderful and thank you for sharing your emotional connection to these songs
I have seen the original video many times... but thank you for you... a heart-felt addition.
You are so kind! I'm just happy whenever people enjoy what I do and share...
what a lovely reaction, I would love for you to react to the “disney princess medley” which focuses on the girls, and the “disney heroes & villains medley” which does the same but for the guys, both really awesome videos that showcase the talent of these beautiful people.
"It's Disney before Disney went too far" Brilliant assessment! I want to use that quote haha.
Great reaction. I have the same reaction EVERY time I watch this. ❤ More Voctave please! I second the suggestion for Disney Princess Medley.
Great review. I suggest listening to the Great Movie Medley, Disney Princess Medley, O Holy Night and O Come all ye Faithful as well.
Love you for your pure heart! Vikings have those too ❤
Jeremy is a machine at the end.
Perfectly beautiful and appropriate reaction for this- joy, tears and all! Good for you in allowing yourself to show the emotions that you are feeling. This medley is gorgeous for sure.
You should go down Voctave’s rabbit hole too!!!
Clydesdale.
“Here we go.” ❤️
haha wow- metalhead - what a great reaction! voctave is the best - always takes us back to a great disney moment! disney is the best! they sound just like the old disney movies harmonies we loved in our childhood ! aww nice- and congrats too - now u have a daughter - u gotta play disney princess medley for her too ! much love to u and urs - thx and love to u and urs
Skal!!!!🍻
I just loved your reactions, thank you for this
They are not background singers. They are absolutely great individual singers. The soprano is not of this world good. Disney Princess Medley is a must.
Recommend Kirstin’s acoustic version of her original, Break A Little. Link: th-cam.com/video/ZQdR8v5C6t4/w-d-xo.html
@vikingreacts you really need to listen to Philippine Madrigal Singers: Paraiso. They are fantastic.
Do you know that Dan Vasc has a cover of "Ill Be in Your Heart"?
I love your reactions!!
In all actuality though I bet Kirsten wishes this video would just disappear. That is her ex fiance singing with her. Who pretty much used her to further his career.
not tp mention Jeremy didn't breath for the last:
:21 seconds. Barely made it
