I have collected the sandalwood box and Iam delighted. To me it is worth every penny I paid for it - thank you for talking about it in the video. AZCA Auctions don't do shipping, but they did put me in touch with a trusted partner, who very honestly advised me that if I had the time a train journey to pick up in person would be much less expensive. So I did that today. A couple of the people I met have worked with Woolley and Wallace who I know you generally like. My impression is that they are a quite new business but definitely one to watch. And they are really nice people to deal with by email and in person, which counts for a lot.

Peter, Thank you for highlighting the unsold sandalwood box in the AZCA sale. It touched a very tender spot following a recent bereavement. For a while it will be a sacred resting place. I'm pleased to say that I followed your advice to be polite and reasonable, and they have accepted my offer just a shy of the low estimate. I needed to get ahead so went in higher than you suggested but 'the heart wants what the heart wants'.

The Azca auction was a disaster, most lots passed, even the ones with bids!

I have just been to AZCA to pick up the sandalwood box in the video. I took Peter's suggestion to make a post auction offer and they could not have been more helpful, working over the weekend to get a response from the seller. I think they are quite a new start-up and there might have been a delay moving to their permanent location and that could have made things a little less streamlined than they wanted.
