Another fine job, Dale. You are helping train others to keep old bikes running. Would never have thought of machining bushings!

Thanks again for the comments James, it's about the only way to fix these old bikes. How long would you have to hunt to find NOS ones? Thanks for watchin.

Back in high school, 1973 or 74 maybe, I made bushings for my TS125 out of oilite bronze. They were available as aftermarket items but I wanted to try it in metal shop. They completely removed that hinged feeling in turns and were especially helpful in TM400s and Kawasaki triples.

Great story, I think I would have used bronze also if this was a race bike or used hard, but just putting it back as it was in this case.

Thx. Dale, enjoy watching and learning, I have owned and repaired a few Japanese motorcycles, i guess the ones I owned in the 70s have gone up in price because of the basic simplicity of repair and durability for enjoyment, I currently own a newer Husqvarna enduro and it's a fiddly thing to work on. Thx again and will keep watching.

Hey, thank you Shawn, yes, I got back into the old enduros about 15 years ago, and all was cheap and plentiful, now the prices are through the roof and the parts have all but dried up. I just have never had the desire to own a newer dirt bike, of course they handle and probably run better, but they just don't look like motorcycles anymore and I really don't think I have what it takes to work on them. The newest one I have owned is a 1979 model. I would love to own an old 70's Husqvarna, but the prices just don't allow it. Hey thanks for spending time with me in the shop.

You know Dale to someone that doesn’t have the tools you have that would cost us probably 300.

Oh probably...but at least if the bushings are no longer available, you can repair them
