Just placed an order for this today. Was almost certain I will go for a Synology model but ended up getting this. Definitely looks like it has better hardware than comparable Synology NAS’s.

The unit does not have a thunderbolt port as you said, it is a usb c connector at 10Gbps speed.

I think DSM overall has more features and is robust and I really do prefer it. Maybe I need to do some more videos comparing the two?
