One of the best films ever made and sadly underrated. The soundtrack the visuals and the upgrade from the first movie is astonishing Tron Legacy will always be one of the best pieces of cinematography.
For me... well, I really love this movie, like you say, The soundtrack the visuals are beautiful... The lack was on the guion, the characters (but not the actors, cause they were great)... but the history could be way more deep.... that was the only and big lack on this beautiful movie if they had improved that, this movie would be complete... But any way... I love this movie : )
I was onset mechanic for this movie and my bike used in closing scene , the jumps were made on old 73 XL350 Hondas that the effects crew made up as Sport Classics .. the view you get on the approach to and during the jump was a steady cam mounted to a KTM ... a really coool setup ... also they recorded the sound from mine and used it in the tunnel . My bike on the camera truck in the closing scene.. along with 3 stock SCs donated by Ducati were used for the most part .. it was a great experience and Vancouver the perfect city to have shot this movie in ... it was shot in 2009 and released in late 2010 .... we had to sign non-disclosures :)
That is awesome! I have been a huge fan of this movie since day one and I have loved the way they use bikes in it as well. So cool of you to share your experience with us. Cheers!
The whole movie, Tron Legacy, is one big eye candy IMHO. And I absolutely adore the soundtrack. Daft Punk is one of the best classical music artists of this era, including the funk and synth parts.
I saw this film on the day of release in December 2010 and after seeing this scene and the Sport Classic I just had to start riding bikes. Since then I always dreamed of owning not just a Sport Classic but a Tron Sport Classic. And now after 7 years of hard work and hustling I managed to pick up my dream bike last month and yesterday made the tail light conversion to make it just like the one on screen. I guess it shows if you focus your efforts enough on something some pretty cool things can come out of it.
somehow this scene makes me cry in tears but they are mix of joy/sadness....this is catharsis i think.... the music, the shots, the sound, the motorcycle, the lone guy riding and doing stupid things in life, who cannot find his path and is just running away trying to escape it's empty life...i can relate a lot,
7 years ago I was 16 years old and had just left the cinema to see tron legacy. And I knew that one day I would buy a motorcycle because of this scene. I have family problems (I lost my father when I was 5 years old) and personal, I was always very lonely. I never finished my computer science school for financial reasons. I did not have conditions at the time for anything. In July 2017 I bought my first bike. I tired of listening to the soundtrack of tron and imagining myself walking with sam flynn without destination. That was part of my life. Now i can ride like sam flynn.
Marcos Costa same here buddy. went to watch this in theatres with my family at age 11 and came out to learn that my godmother had lost her long battle with cancer. that day changed me and i looked to this movie not as a terrible memory but more of something that will stick with my heart forever. i was starstruck by this scene and and soundtrack and i’ve wanted to ride ever since. i get my riders license this month, and hopefully my first ducati by the end of the year :)
The powerful music evokes an emotional response when combined with this scene, even without a personal connection to cars or motorcycles. That's my opinion ;)
I like this film. But, best of the best...... I mean. Blade Runner 2049 exists. (not the time when this comment got made but interstellar existed, and Alien, and 2001, the original Blade Runner, even Akira which is an Anime)
+Husker Funny you said that. At this very moment I've made that decision. This was a scene that has stuck with me and I came here to see it for that reason.
I literally bought a ducati monster because of this movie. I was 20 when this came out and went.... YEP... hahaha. I still have it and will probably never get rid of it. I made it all cafe racer style with nice clip-ons and a full Ohlin suspension.
This is an amazing scene. I love how "sam come back" fades while the music is introduced. Love how he snakes through the traffic and how the camera angles catch them perfectly. Love the bike and love how he gets away from the cop :D
The visuals and the background score from DAFT PUNK respectively made this scene from Tron: Legacy movie a masterpiece. An innovative way to say how crazy one can drive over the thirst..
I just get my motorcycle license. My love for bikes started because of this scene when I was 8 years old, and I actually own a 1981 Yamaha XJ400 I keep going back to this video at least once a month, and my dream bike being a Ducati Sport Classic, I'll be back once I'll have achieved this dream
Some day in my life I wanna Ride a bike like that with same music. I never felt like this before but that's my Fantasy and dream. One of Beautiful moments I have seen and can't expalned. #Tron Legacy
This is the most spectacular cinematographic few scenes that I have been fortunate enough to witness as my time here in this life. I seriously feel this is one of the most iconic entrances to a movie and character. Daft Punk was the perfect choice. I wish I knew better cinema lingo to more accurately describe how amazingly beautiful these 30 seconds of brilliance are to me.
+skratch man I couldn't explain it better than you. This scene is fantaastic. By the way the first minutes of this movie are perfect including the tower scene. later the movie is shit but just to watch those scenes worth the movie. a perfet combination of music and images ...m mm damm it's like an orgasm to senses
same. it's jarring how the bike goes under the granville bridge underpass and then emerges from waterfront rd on W cordova. no wonder the police couldn't catch him lol.
Same here. I was in college. I loved motorcycle already but this scene is what inspired me to buy a Ducati. Ah! Nostalgic scene! Beautiful bike. I suppose it’s a GT 1000 sport Biposto, yea?
@@desmochai No, it’s a Sport 1000…based loosely on the 750 Sport of the early 70’s. The GT 1000 is based on the 750 GT of the same period. Two very different looking bikes

its like in ballet.. music and motion in perfect sync! would you argue those stupid guys in leotards should just make 4-5 big steps instead of doing triple axels?
I bought a Ducati and a bluetooth connection for the helmet, and would play this song on loop while riding around Austin at night. Felt like it was going to get me in trouble lol. This brings back so many memories and makes me tear up a little actually

This is a simple scene on paper. But cinematography and absolutely fucking unbelievably good soundtrack from Daft Punk hits somewhere in the subconscious and makes this scene into a hillarous one. Just shows how powerful cinematography and soundtrack are.

You know It's so uplifting and reassuring to see a TH-cam vid filled with positive respectful comments instead of anger and trolling etc. I wish more clips and scenes on TH-cam inspired that, amazing but simple scene that gets you emotionally but you can't really say why. Very underatted film, well done Disney you got this one very right!
The only modern bike that nowadays comes close to this look is the Triumph Thruxton R. Google "Bulldog Thruxton R". The new Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer is OK but the The Thruxton R has more of a true Cafe Racer look.
I can't. The price of the classic Ducati Sport 1000 is way out of reach. This movie popularized it. I like a Ducati Monster 821 that I recently rode though. The video got me thinking about Ducati's again. This time I won't have to worry about doing $1000 valve services every 5000 km. Of interest there is a company that makes Tron like helmet light kits. I'd wear one of those for the Tron effect alone, but having dozy cage drivers be able to see me would be a big plus.
i came across this scene on TV n checked it out here on youtube. SInce then, i've been seeing it almost daily....n i booked myself a Monster :D Its one hell of a video with the perfect background music, direction, stunt....everything....
this is a textbook case of "how soundtrack can promote a scene to a next level".
Right! That scene never ceases to blow me away.
The scene would've worked exactly the same without it, maybe even better

not sure why but the beginning of this is emotional, I guess because my motorcycle and my car is my escape, my therapy.
Nicks Corvette Stop 4 Wheels move the body. 2 Wheels move the soul.
The powerful music evokes an emotional response when combined with this scene, even without a personal connection to cars or motorcycles. That's my opinion ;)

Maybe because of what scene proceeded it.
Because we know how it feels. Beautiful scene
