I first watched this movie with my grandpa. I was 3 when the movie came out and I watched it a year or two later since at 3 my attention span wasn't that big. I watched it with my grandpa and it became our movie. I loved it so much that I watched it all the time and even got Tron toys. To this day I still enjoy watching this movie with my grandpa.

This movie just proves how important, directing, cinematography, lighting, editing and vfx are. People always talk about what happens in a movie but for me remembering how something happens or remembering a movie visually is also important too. It’s sad that the visuals are the only thing I can remember well for this movie. The director deserved a better script.
I don’t think it was a poor script so much as it needed a longer run time. It’s hard to feel immersed in this beautiful world if we only see a small glimpse of it. This also applies to character development. I would have loved a 3 hour run time.

Idk how much of it was an intentional design choice and how much was a natural consequence of the digital world having more CG so the effect was able to be integrated more, but either way it made for a noticeable and awesome extra sense of depth in that world. Hard to explain but it was dope. 😄
Agreed. Disney did the original when there was a major change in technique. The 3D in this was awesome. They did the 3D to make certain things stand out. Not everything all at once. A banister here, a car there, bushes. It was artistic.

The disc is suppose to automatically kill programs by a simple touch of the edges. But since Flynn isn't a program, all the disc can really do is scratch him.

First time seeing Sam rising up to the arena, with the soundtrack slightly increases as he rises, the audience cheering up and the entire arena changing shape to prepare for Disc Wars was probably one of the best scenes ive seen on the big screen. Honestly, im super pumped for Tron 3 even without probably the actors that did this movie and yes... Even without Daft Punk themselves (rip :C).

I'd love to live in the Tron world for at least a day. I hope someone or some company can build something like this. I don't think making those hovering glass objects will happen in our lifetime but the lights and the aesthetic designs inside Tron would be so cool to get a feel in. I feel like it could be possible to make a lightbike area and a disc wars area for people to take part in -- obviously without it killing anyone lol.

I was totally captivated by this film. I was lucky to go to Disneyland when they where promoting it. They had a version of Flynn's Arcade. Also rode Space Mountain while listing to The Game Has Changed on my headphones. It made the ride that much more awesome.
I REMEMBER THAT OH MY GOD! There were a bunch of stunt performers throwing the lightdisks and I wish I had more time to play in Flynn’s arcade, I just played rampage, it was so fun, good memories

I know I'm late to the party here...but this movie also included the fans. The sound of the crowd cheering in the backyard? That was actually recorded live at the previous year's SDCC in Hall H. The director asked the audience if they'd be willing to do it, and EVERYBODY got into the act. So the chants of "DISC WARS", "DE-REZ", and "RINZLER"...were real fans doing the cheering.

What the hell happened to tron. It could've easily been on par with star wars and star treck. It was such a unique and cool world. Love neon and black suits
If you don't know, there was also an animated tron show called tron:uprising. It got cancelled but it had a really good plot

3:54 I never noticed he tried to pull off that breaking-the-floor trick he used in his first fight but Rinzler just positions his feet to avoid falling through the hole and then the hole repairs itself as they’re fighting upside down. God damn this movie was so cool.
I'd love to live in the Tron world for at least a day. I hope someone or some company can build something like this. I don't think making those hovering glass objects will happen in our lifetime but the lights and the aesthetic designs inside Tron would be so cool to get a feel in. I feel like it could be possible to make a lightbike area and a disc wars area for people to take part in -- obviously without it killing anyone lol.
Even though it’s an American Football stadium Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas kind of has a Tron look to it especially at night.
The fact that he survived more than 20 secs in a fight with Rinzler is a feat

I was totally captivated by this film. I was lucky to go to Disneyland when they where promoting it. They had a version of Flynn's Arcade. Also rode Space Mountain while listing to The Game Has Changed on my headphones. It made the ride that much more awesome.

I REMEMBER THAT OH MY GOD! There were a bunch of stunt performers throwing the lightdisks and I wish I had more time to play in Flynn’s arcade, I just played rampage, it was so fun, good memories

I love everything about this scene. The designs, the colors, the music, the sound effects (that sound the discs make)... the crazy moves of Sam's opponent... it's all awesome
This was literally my favorite movie as kid. Sometime about how high tech it was and how sleek the suits looked made it awesome to watch over and over again.
Watched it back in the days in cinema as a teenager and I never got it out of my head. Was one of the best days of my life

There was a good laugh from everyone in the theater when Sam swore, "Dammit!" and "Oh, come on! Is that even legal?!" Such a great film, especially in IMAX 3D.

I know I'm late to the party here...but this movie also included the fans. The sound of the crowd cheering in the backyard? That was actually recorded live at the previous year's SDCC in Hall H. The director asked the audience if they'd be willing to do it, and EVERYBODY got into the act. So the chants of "DISC WARS", "DE-REZ", and "RINZLER"...were real fans doing the cheering.
