- In the shadows of falling darkness, wings of the night creature await their silent signal from the moon. Flying madly through a starless sky the frenzy flight of The Bat takes you by surprise and leaves you breathless, hanging in mid-air, captured alive. The Bat’s tracks are above the car rather than below it, and the cars hang down from the overhead rails. The Bat’s cars are designed to swing out to the side when the trains round the numerous bends and curves on its 2,352-foot long circuit at speeds up to 51 mph. The ride experience begins with a climb up a 90-foot lift. At the top, the train dips slightly before turning roughly 225 degrees to the right. The train then drops 70 feet into a valley banking right at the bottom as it begins to climb into a horseshoe element. The cars swing up and around to the left before exiting the horseshoe parallel to the same position during entry. Another drop follows into the same valley, with another banked turn to the right followed by a quick turn to the left before taking riders through a final series of sharp turns, each sending the train swinging from one side to the other before heading back into the station.
That lift hill gives you a whole minute to think about every choice you've made in your life
Pretty accurate, went I went on it for the first time I told My friend who pushed Me to go on it "I'm Afraid", but hey..I ended up loving it.
I remember when I first rode it I looked at my mom and told her I was sorry because I forgot to clean my room 😂she didn't even care about my room being cleaned

I was trembling when I first got on it, but man I was laughing like crazy when we went down the drop, and my friend said it was a strange feeling of going 51 mph when you're not in an enclosed vehicle such as a car and you're exposed to the entirety of the wind. I also remember everyone chanting go in rhythm to the anti-rollback up the lift hill
Probably will be closing was damaged by a derailment

The bat is actually really fun definitely worth a ride, especially to work up towards Banshee right next door.

the vampire ride is the one for sure. the lift hill on the bat looks epic , imagine being one of the first ever riders years ago..
I’ve been on a clone of this coaster in Canada. That thing is a freaking monster. Really wish another company would start making these suspended coasters again.
S&S could do it, only problem is that Arrow discontinued their suspended model before they were bought by S&S

Haven't been to King's Island in ages. Interesting to see all the development from the top of the lift hill. Used to be nothing but hills and trees.
definitely a great ride. Haven't been on many of this type of roller coaster, but probably my second favorite (to big bad wolf) but since Big Bad Wolf no longer exists...probably my favorite one that I've ridden still in operation.
Every time I ride it, i appreciate it more. such a good little ride. For The Bat's size, it packs a wild punch.

Exactly what I was thinking. When I saw this video, I thought, "is this the original?" But at the top of the first climb, knew it wasn't.

The Bat is CHAMPS!!! I rode it 4 times this year so now it's 184 all time rides with ONLY 16 rides away for my 200th all time ride mark....Hopefully I may make it before this Summer.
The best suspended coaster in my opinion. I think I rode this back in 2017, and absolutely went nuts for it.
Has the same layout as vortex at Canada's wonderland but vortex has better scenery.
Agreed! I’m going to Canada’s wonderland since I haven’t been there yet and kings islands which I have been there before this summer, so I will be able to find out.
@@synthesismike go there on may of you can that's when the lines are really short or on a school day and you should start off with behemoth then work your way up to vortex the Levi.

I know this is more of a kiddie coaster but no matter what this will always be my favorite since it’s what introduced me to bigger coasters, the first time I rode it I liked it so much I had to go again
This isn't a kiddie its more like a tween to teen coaster, banshee is more adult. A kiddie is like the pumpkin coaster

kiddie coaster nothing, this is way more intense than even Orion. Sure, Orion is tall and technically faster, but the Bat absolutely whips you around and feels like you're constantly going to collide with something. Only if you're purely just afraid of heights is the Bat less intense.

@@pirategamer6630 I rode them both, numbers don't always add up to intensity. A race kart usually tops out around 60 mph, you probably drive faster than that on the highway, but ask any F1 driver and they'll tell you it's as close as you can get to driving an F1 car when driven on a proper kart track. Bottom line, The Bat is not a kiddie coaster whatsoever and anyone calling that has definitely not ridden it.

That looks a lot better than Iron Dragon. When Iron Dragon was put in I remember thinking, and friends too, what a waist of time. It was very dull.
I always hoped the brake run would be a little less aggressive. It stops the train so fast that it hasn't even finished naturally coming back down from the last swing.
Yeah that was my reaction the first time I rode it. The final brake run is brutal.

Seems like a bigger iron dragon....I can't see the trains but based on the track and the Pilar supports it's a train that hangs like the iron dragon...

when it comes to steel suspended roller coasters at kings island, this is the best imo.... no it doesnt flip or anything and yes it is kind of a kiddie coaster but it is still alot of fun n thrilling

Definitely ride it. Once you get over the first hill, you are close to the ground most of the ride. And it's really short. 😁

Think that's got to be the slowest lift hill I have ever seen it took 1:35 to reach the top
It took forever to get to the top. And the drop was underwhelming. We took more time getting to the top then actually riding

No @@wbmccranie i mean a revamp of the iconic Bat commercial that H-B did 42 years ago, but with a Peanuts twist as siblings Charlie and Sally Brown being capture alive by The Bat.
The path to get to the bat was so long, if there were like a lot a lot of people, the ride won't even be worth waiting for how short it is.
But its a good ride

One time I was at kings island and I felt sick on banshee and then I was getting on the bat I was about to get off then I sat down and barely pulled down the bar and I was like no going back now

Me and my friend from work went to kings Island today we rode the bat it was scary. I prayed to Jesus going up the hill. I kept my head back tried too anyway. Kept my eyes closed.
As someone who is quite afraid of the drops on roller coasters, would this be a good ride for me or should I pass? I’m more of an adventure express person.
Its a great ride. Drop isn’t too steep, the ride isn’t tall and its short. This coaster was made by the same people who made Adventure Express. Arrow Dynamics.

I relate soooo much. i have quite a big fear of heights and hills on roller coasters but somehow still force myself onto them. and adventure express is an awesome ride!

I heard about the derailment that happened sometime last year. God and to think I rode this over a year ago! To be fair my brother actually made a comment about how it did seem a bit rickety and it swung too hard. Glad nobody was seriously injured (I think)
yeah, i think what youre talking about is how on june 24,2022 a wheel came loose, nobody was hurt and everyone got off safely

If you look at a side by side vortex or the bat they are the same thing just vortex has better scenery because it is near a mountain and a lake.

The original Bat was taken down and replaced by Vortex. (sadly vortex got removed in 2019 i think)
This is another version of The Bat, except the layout follows the Vortex at another park. (Idk what the name is, go answer that in the replies)
