Yes last year my brother and I were able to ride...ONCE fireworks and drone show ended and cleared to open up... so 1030 we finally board park closed around 10 so definitive night ride. Also my first time to kings we had a4 day blast on our park tour schedules
The speed of Mystic Timbers is what makes it my top 1 as well. It never slows after the first drop, and that first drop is awesome the way it cuts back. Front and back seats both awesome.
Just got on for the first time this Sunday. Went on mid-afternoon, it was hot as hell out, and the trim brake didn't hit at all. So glad I got to feel everything it had for me. Some of the strongest airtime I've ever felt and that was in the front row. Bonkers
Fun fact: I just rode Backlot Stunt Coaster, The Beast, and Flight of Fear for the first time yesterday (Sunday). Flight of Fear was my first coaster that had inversions. And Backlot Stunt Coaster was my first launch coaster.
Mystic Timbers is a crazy ride. You never catch your breath. Orion is very underrated. Super smooth and fun. Diamondback and Banshee need retracking. They both rattle too much. The Beast is such a classic and unique.
My favorite roller coaster there is Orion, followed by Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, Beast, Banshee, Bat, Firehawk (R.I.P.), Flight of Fear, Backlot Stunt Coaster, Adventure Express, Racer, Vortex (R.I.P.), and Invertigo.

Awesome vid my man! I haven't been to Kings Island in like 25 years.....your list made me wanna revisit big time. Hope they keep the Racer around forever. Back in the day, before there were petty concerns like "rider safety", the restraint on The Racer consisted of one lone wooden bar that would click in place over your lap, not even halfway up your thighs. On the hills, when you'd get hang time, you'd be in danger of slipping up and out. You had to hold on to the bar. We used to joke, "How is this legal?" Ahhh....memories. That Woodstock coaster used to be called the "Beastie" I believe. And yeah, it was a fun little ride. I second your thoughts on the Beast being a different animal at night. The Beast is like a novel. It has plot. It has character development. And then at night, it turns into a horror novel. We always used to wait until dark to ride it during many summer trips to Kings Island. I'll show my age, before it was the beastie it was the Scooby Doo, the mystery machine was right out front! I also remember standing in line for almost 3 hours for the beast when it opened

Flying ace, aerial chase 13. Invertigo 14. Great pumpkin. (Didn’t ride) Invertigo’s layout and seating are great, probably 8, but the restraints beat me up. If it had something like B&M’s vest restraints, it would probably be #8, maybe even 7. But, until then, it’s on my never agin list.

The hype for mystic tembers was amazing, whenever I went to kings island before mystic tembers all I hear was “What’s in the shed?” Over, and over again. And I like the jumps are at the end and how it has “IN THE SHED” Written all over it. 10/10
Mystic Timbers is my number four spot, but my top four are photo finishes and practically tie. It's also the only outdoor coaster they keep open during WinterFest since their steel coasters could have valleying issues in the cold. I love how MT is basically as smooth as a wooden coaster can get without making the jump to the RMC treatment
When I went to kings island I went at 7:00pm so there was no lines, I think the bat was 2 minutes, adventure express was like 5 and all the others were 5 aswelll but at around 9:30pm mystic timbers was like 30 minutes
Mystic timbers is the only top five ride I have rode. The people I went with didn't go on diamond back I felt bad before I went on the Beast and I was too scared of banshee because that was the second ride I went on at the park in 2 years and Orion the same thing I was just scared.

My favorite part of banshee is how floaty it feels but i respect your taste!!! Mystic timbers is probably my favorite in the park too. Maybe diamondback. I like orion, but i’m still getting over my fear of heights and for some reason diamondback does not scare me but orion does
When I went I got a really rough rides on Banshee and Racer. Racer threw me around and jackhammered a bit, while Banshee gave me a headache. I probably just got unlucky lol.
I totally agree, except Banshee < Beast and the Diamondback > Orion. Something about that length and the forest of Diamondback just gives it the advantage.
I would love to see an RMC wooden coaster sometime soon. Even if it’s a ground up coaster once RMC is better at making them in a few years. If not, I would be willing to make The Racer an RMC similar to Twisted Colossus. Here’s my top 5 as a local regular: 1. Diamondback 2. Banshee 3. Orion 4. Beast 5. Mystic Timbers The only reason MT isn’t higher is because last time we went, I believe we either sat in a bad part of the train, or If my back was just stiff. But the ride just felt unbearably rough. We even rode the Beast (freshly retracked though) afterwards and it felt better than MT. When we go this year i’ll have to give it another shot because without the roughness we had, the ride is very thrilling and insanely fast. Your list is very good.
I honestly think the racer is the most hands up friendly coaster I’ve ever rode. Because it doesn’t really have any steep drops and you get plenty of airtime on the hills
Nice! My top three are - banshee, the beast, and diamondback. Mystic Timbers always has long lines and the ride is kinda short. I also kinda feel like it kinda of bland. Other than the back story and the shed is a little bit too similar to the beast. Like it’s a good ride and all and i respect that people say it’s the best. We all have our one opinions. It’s just i wish they added something else to the ride itself to make it more diffferent. But it’s still a great ride!! But this is just my opinion
Watching this in 2024! It kinda crazy because I watched this video when it came out, then went to Kings Island for the first time in 2024 and lots of the rides have changed with theming. Flying Ace Ariel Chase is no longer the name for the mini suspended coaster, and the color is no longer yellow. Adventure express had a new theme to tag along with adventure port and there is also much more!
I night ride on mystic timbers is MONEY! We just went last night and had a blast. The only way to really have fun at KI is to get fast lane, go during Halloween season, on a Sunday. Almost everything was walk on.
I haven't been to Kings Island for about 15 years. I would barely recognize this place anymore - the King Kobra, Son of Beast, and Vortex are all gone and massive gigacoasters have cropped up. Hopefully I can return in 2024!
Man, I miss the days of the backwards racer. There was nothing like and the extra wait was always worth it. Also, the banshee almost made me blackout with some of the gs it pulls. My top 5 are probably out dated because the last time I was at kings island they still had Vortex. That was my first rollercoaster with loops 😢
Don't feel guilty about loving those little PTCs, they are so much fun and you can feel the history in them. Woodstock is no Racer, but it is super fun.
I'm afraid of coasters, so the most I can handle is Mystic timbers. Here is my list of the 8 I've ridden! Mystic timbers, the bat, 8. The great pumpkin coaster It's a good first coaster, but it's not my type. 7. Flying ace It's a very great inverted coaster! It's not that good to make it higher in the list, though. 6. Woodstock express I remember I loved this coaster, used to be my favorite, but now, I don't think it holds that well. They should rename it to Beastie! 5. Backlot stunt coaster I love this coaster! But I think the ride is too forceful. 4. Adventure express The ride is rough, but overall a great coaster! I don't know how it got here though. 3. Racer You cannot go to Kings Island without riding the good ol' Racer. It's an enjoyable ride experience and the airtime makes you go airborne if you're a smaller kid. It's a great coaster, I love it, we all love it. 2. The Bat This ride is amazing. It whips you around so much! It's not too forceful and I love it. 1. Mystic Timbers The first time a rode it, I was so flabbergasted after I rode it. It starts fast and never slows down. It's a great ride we all love and I love. The appearance of Flight of fear, The Beast, Orion, Diamondback, Invertigo, and the other one I forgot look phenomenal, but I'm too scared to ride them.
It’s a shame KI couldn’t keep Vortex going and tore it down. Such a classic ride that would’ve complimented this amazing coaster lineup had they been able to maintain and restore it. I convinced my very young cousin to come on mystic Timbers with me. I didn’t really think it would be intense at all, so I told her she should come on it with me, and she did. It no joke scared her so bad, but I liked it lol
Good list. My personal opinion is that the Beast has become basically un-rankable. It's a rare perfect ride for what it is, so it kind of belongs in a Hall of Fame separate from other coasters. It's like trying to rank "Casablanca" among best movies. There may be better movies out there, but there's only one Casablanca, and there will always only be one Beast. So I leave it alone when ranking. Aside from that, Mystic Timbers is the best, and Adventure Express holds a special place in my heart. I could ride it all day.
Great video. I would like to ask because a lot of people say it. Where are you guys experiencing a rattle on banshee or diamondback? I'm so confused. But I always ride back row on both so maybe I'm not getting that so much
I'd put everything on this list in front of Invertigo, we call it the day ended because of how rough it is need to demolish it haha. Mystic Timbers has easily become my favorite I think
Spot on man, this is my EXACT ranking list. Be interesting to see where Soap Box Racer will fit in there too. Mystic for the win! More rerideable that Steel Vengance in my opinion. Not as intense but sometimes that's ok. Brilliant coaster.
I absolutely love Banshee but its micro-tremors give me the worst headache ever. I thought the Beast was bad (only ride I've ever cracked a phone on), but Banshee consistently gives me a headache. I have not been back to the park since Orion opened, but I'm extremely disappointed they retired Vortex and Firehawk - two of my absolute favorites.
@@tylerdouglas5193 Yes Orion is much more scary. The drop is intense, it's much faster and has more aggressive elements. Banshee just has a lot of inversions. And inversions aren't that scary, although they can lead to a lot of positive Gs just go for it its a lot of fun
It seems like almost every channel puts Mystic at number 1. It blows my mind how a GCI could be better than a hyper and a giga or even Beast. This must be one incredible wooden coaster
I thought it was okay after the first ride. Now that I have ridden it 6 times, I like it much better. I can't rank it higher than Orion, but I've ridden Orion 7 times.
Wow I'm surprised I just road mystic timbers yesterday and felt it was just ok I wouldn't say waiting longer than 30 minutes is worth it plus I'm nearly 300 pounds and my lap bar had a lot of play I felt like I was slipping out of My seat so honestly it's now a coaster I refuse to ride and personally I think it's the overall appeal but flight of fear is my favorite ride
Just got back from the park and had a great time on a monday with short waits. 1. The beast. Riding smooth now .even with too much brakes on certain parts its still one of the best and unique rides in the world. 2 mystic timbers. It felt good upon my first ride but with every sucessive ride it felt better. Im a back row person but i noticed that coaster seems even better towards front. 3 diamondback i love the layout and angle of the hills great for the back getting sucked over the tops. I do feel like the coaster seems a little slower than years back. Still great though 4 orion. Great speed and a couple good airtime. Very smooth and comfy 5 flight of fear. Unique ride with great beginning and end 6 racer. Used to love it but feels way slower than many years back. At least it doesnt break your back now.
There is no other experience like riding the Beast at night. Blows everything else away. During the day, still a great ride but 1000 times better at night.
I went back to Kings Island and got to ride Orion, Mystic Timbers, and Diamondback several times Weird thing happened. I came away liking Mystic Timbers more and Diamondback less. Diamondback rattles alot and is not smooth. I moved it down on my list: 1. Orion 2. Mystic Timbers 3. Banshee 4. Diamondback 5. The Beast 6. The Bat 7. The Racer 8. Backlot stunt coaster 9. Flight of Fear 10. Invertigo
Mystic Timbers is my favorite of all time with the Beast a close second. I actually like Diamondback better than Orion. Kings Island needs to take the big boy seat and add an RMC. Sooner the better.
Everyone has their favorites. I like Orion much, much better than Diamondback. In fact, I like Mystic Timbers and Banshee better than Diamondback as well.
I've been to KI 3 times in the past couple of months. Mystic Timbers is an amazing ride, but the ending is terrible and just like FOF the wait times are usually the longest in the park. I'd say my top 5 rides are 1. Banshee 2. Diamondback 3. Mystic Timbers 4. Orion 5. Beast
@@cltcoasters Shed is a ploy to let the second cart get set. The last few times I've gone, it just played music and barely was themed. The ride is always a fun experience just the shed sells it.

I dont know whats wrong with me but I feel like Mystic Timbers is seriously over hyped, even before the retrack I feel like the Beast just blows it out of the water. MT's fatal flaw for me has always been its length, I feel like the best part of most wooden coasters is how much longer they usually are, and for MT I just dont get that. I think I also just have a sour feeling from having to wait in the shed for 7 minutes the first time I rode it. I will say the sustained speed is definitely Mystic Timber's strongest aspect but I would still probably put it at 5 or 6 for a KI ranking.
I watched this video before my first trip yesterday. I rode most of these rides and agree with 90% of your ratings. However Invertigo was the worst roller coaster I've ever ridden. It was such a violent ride we had to leave the park. I'd put it on the list as a warning, not a ranking.

The pacing is immaculate!
The pacing is phenomenal. I can't rank it higher than Orion. However, Mystic Timbers is better than any other coaster at KI.
....That being said, the more I ride MT, the better I like it.

An RMC would be an amazing fit! Nice top 5 btw. When you go back I strongly suggest riding Mystic in the very front row

I honestly think the racer is the most hands up friendly coaster I’ve ever rode. Because it doesn’t really have any steep drops and you get plenty of airtime on the hills

Nice! My top three are - banshee, the beast, and diamondback. Mystic Timbers always has long lines and the ride is kinda short. I also kinda feel like it kinda of bland. Other than the back story and the shed is a little bit too similar to the beast. Like it’s a good ride and all and i respect that people say it’s the best. We all have our one opinions. It’s just i wish they added something else to the ride itself to make it more diffferent. But it’s still a great ride!! But this is just my opinion
Putting mystic Timbers over Orion and The beast is criminal
Watching this in 2024! It kinda crazy because I watched this video when it came out, then went to Kings Island for the first time in 2024 and lots of the rides have changed with theming. Flying Ace Ariel Chase is no longer the name for the mini suspended coaster, and the color is no longer yellow. Adventure express had a new theme to tag along with adventure port and there is also much more!

I night ride on mystic timbers is MONEY! We just went last night and had a blast. The only way to really have fun at KI is to get fast lane, go during Halloween season, on a Sunday. Almost everything was walk on.

The Beast, at night, is the best ride you have, period. Bonus points for front car.
One time my friend surprised me with fast lane passes and we rode Orion 23 and 31 coasters in total, it was amazing
I haven't been to Kings Island for about 15 years. I would barely recognize this place anymore - the King Kobra, Son of Beast, and Vortex are all gone and massive gigacoasters have cropped up. Hopefully I can return in 2024!
Man, I miss the days of the backwards racer. There was nothing like and the extra wait was always worth it. Also, the banshee almost made me blackout with some of the gs it pulls. My top 5 are probably out dated because the last time I was at kings island they still had Vortex.
That was my first rollercoaster with loops 😢
Don't feel guilty about loving those little PTCs, they are so much fun and you can feel the history in them. Woodstock is no Racer, but it is super fun.

8. The great pumpkin coaster
It's a good first coaster, but it's not my type.
7. Flying ace
It's a very great inverted coaster! It's not that good to make it higher in the list, though.
6. Woodstock express
I remember I loved this coaster, used to be my favorite, but now, I don't think it holds that well. They should rename it to Beastie!
5. Backlot stunt coaster
I love this coaster! But I think the ride is too forceful.
4. Adventure express
The ride is rough, but overall a great coaster! I don't know how it got here though.
3. Racer
You cannot go to Kings Island without riding the good ol' Racer. It's an enjoyable ride experience and the airtime makes you go airborne if you're a smaller kid. It's a great coaster, I love it, we all love it.
2. The Bat
This ride is amazing. It whips you around so much! It's not too forceful and I love it.
1. Mystic Timbers
The first time a rode it, I was so flabbergasted after I rode it. It starts fast and never slows down. It's a great ride we all love and I love.
The appearance of Flight of fear, The Beast, Orion, Diamondback, Invertigo, and the other one I forgot look phenomenal, but I'm too scared to ride them.
It’s a shame KI couldn’t keep Vortex going and tore it down. Such a classic ride that would’ve complimented this amazing coaster lineup had they been able to maintain and restore it. I’m excited to see what they build in its place.

I convinced my very young cousin to come on mystic Timbers with me. I didn’t really think it would be intense at all, so I told her she should come on it with me, and she did. It no joke scared her so bad, but I liked it lol
Orion, Diamondback and Banshee are my top 3 but I do still love the Beast and Racer
Not my order but well justified. Agree that the roll at the end of Banshee is my favorite part of the ride.

Good list. My personal opinion is that the Beast has become basically un-rankable. It's a rare perfect ride for what it is, so it kind of belongs in a Hall of Fame separate from other coasters. It's like trying to rank "Casablanca" among best movies. There may be better movies out there, but there's only one Casablanca, and there will always only be one Beast. So I leave it alone when ranking.
Aside from that, Mystic Timbers is the best, and Adventure Express holds a special place in my heart. I could ride it all day.

Great video. I would like to ask because a lot of people say it. Where are you guys experiencing a rattle on banshee or diamondback? I'm so confused. But I always ride back row on both so maybe I'm not getting that so much
I've never felt that people are talking about. But also I hate the vest restraints on banshee
Banshee’s rattle was strongest for me around the sixth inversion, and Diamondback’s was after the turnaround

I'd put everything on this list in front of Invertigo, we call it the day ended because of how rough it is need to demolish it haha. Mystic Timbers has easily become my favorite I think
Spot on man, this is my EXACT ranking list. Be interesting to see where Soap Box Racer will fit in there too. Mystic for the win! More rerideable that Steel Vengance in my opinion. Not as intense but sometimes that's ok. Brilliant coaster.

I absolutely love Banshee but its micro-tremors give me the worst headache ever. I thought the Beast was bad (only ride I've ever cracked a phone on), but Banshee consistently gives me a headache. I have not been back to the park since Orion opened, but I'm extremely disappointed they retired Vortex and Firehawk - two of my absolute favorites.
As much as an RMC coaster would be great for KI. I would love to see a wing coaster like gatekeeper at CP built at KI.
I think 6-2 are all better than mystic Timbers

@@tylerdouglas5193 Yes Orion is much more scary. The drop is intense, it's much faster and has more aggressive elements. Banshee just has a lot of inversions. And inversions aren't that scary, although they can lead to a lot of positive Gs just go for it its a lot of fun

It seems like almost every channel puts Mystic at number 1. It blows my mind how a GCI could be better than a hyper and a giga or even Beast. This must be one incredible wooden coaster

Wow I'm surprised I just road mystic timbers yesterday and felt it was just ok I wouldn't say waiting longer than 30 minutes is worth it plus I'm nearly 300 pounds and my lap bar had a lot of play I felt like I was slipping out of My seat so honestly it's now a coaster I refuse to ride and personally I think it's the overall appeal but flight of fear is my favorite ride

Just got back from the park and had a great time on a monday with short waits.
1. The beast. Riding smooth now .even with too much brakes on certain parts its still one of the best and unique rides in the world.
2 mystic timbers. It felt good upon my first ride but with every sucessive ride it felt better. Im a back row person but i noticed that coaster seems even better towards front.
3 diamondback i love the layout and angle of the hills great for the back getting sucked over the tops. I do feel like the coaster seems a little slower than years back. Still great though
4 orion. Great speed and a couple good airtime. Very smooth and comfy
5 flight of fear. Unique ride with great beginning and end
6 racer. Used to love it but feels way slower than many years back. At least it doesnt break your back now.
Forgot banshee.... my fave b and m inverted .... great layout and exteme amount of gforce

There is no other experience like riding the Beast at night. Blows everything else away. During the day, still a great ride but 1000 times better at night.
I went back to Kings Island and got to ride Orion, Mystic Timbers, and Diamondback several times Weird thing happened. I came away liking Mystic Timbers more and Diamondback less. Diamondback rattles alot and is not smooth. I moved it down on my list:

5. The Beast
6. The Bat
7. The Racer

Mystic Timbers is my favorite of all time with the Beast a close second. I actually like Diamondback better than Orion. Kings Island needs to take the big boy seat and add an RMC. Sooner the better.

I've been to KI 3 times in the past couple of months. Mystic Timbers is an amazing ride, but the ending is terrible and just like FOF the wait times are usually the longest in the park. I'd say my top 5 rides are

@@cltcoasters Shed is a ploy to let the second cart get set. The last few times I've gone, it just played music and barely was themed. The ride is always a fun experience just the shed sells it.

@xplqn3tt it's actually at 4 but I feel like that's where it fits for me. I could maybe argue putting it ahead of mystic but the other two I wouldn't consider. Just in my opinion of course
my favorites are easily flight of fear and banshee
I dont know whats wrong with me but I feel like Mystic Timbers is seriously over hyped, even before the retrack I feel like the Beast just blows it out of the water. MT's fatal flaw for me has always been its length, I feel like the best part of most wooden coasters is how much longer they usually are, and for MT I just dont get that. I think I also just have a sour feeling from having to wait in the shed for 7 minutes the first time I rode it. I will say the sustained speed is definitely Mystic Timber's strongest aspect but I would still probably put it at 5 or 6 for a KI ranking.

I watched this video before my first trip yesterday. I rode most of these rides and agree with 90% of your ratings. However Invertigo was the worst roller coaster I've ever ridden. It was such a violent ride we had to leave the park. I'd put it on the list as a warning, not a ranking.
