Looks like a pretty fun ride, it's a good theme away from great. I bet it would attract more attention if they didn't just set up some tents as a theme.
The funny thing is that it's clear they tried to put some effort beyond just landscaping with rocks and trees, but they put so little effort into the scenery that it looks worse than if they would have tried to go generic lol. I suspect the area will look a lot nicer when the trees start to grow in and envelop the ride more (Something that is happening with the Hagrid coaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure), but that just makes me wish there was more foliage to better do that currently whilst the trees try to grow in.
I live in Orlando and we have a ride called Infiniti Falls here at SeaWorld. We have the same exact issue every week when I go to the park as a passholder I can never ride because the ride is constantly being shut down whether it’s because of a few raindrops or maintenance issues. Very unfortunate. Sorry to hear Texas is having this problem too.
Most log flumes are designed with specific water management and ride mechanics to minimize the amount of water that splashes onto riders. Here are a few reasons why many log flume rides don't get you excessively wet: Water Channel Design: The flume's water channel is often designed to guide water away from the riders, using gravity and strategic angles to direct water flow. Splash Zones: Rides may include designated splash zones that are positioned away from the seating areas or strategically located to control when and how much water splashes onto riders. Ride Speed and Motion: The speed and motion of the boat can influence how much water is splashed. If the boat moves smoothly and at a controlled speed, it tends to create less turbulence, resulting in less water being splashed out. Drop Shape and Height: The shape and height of the drops influence the splash created. A more gradual drop may allow water to flow more smoothly, while steep drops may create larger splashes but are often designed to minimize this effect. Seating Design and Placement: The design of the seating and how passengers are positioned in the flume also plays a role. Some rides have higher sides on the boats or barriers that help shield passengers from large splashes. Water Levels: The water levels in the flume can be maintained at specific heights to control the amount of water that can splash onto riders. Overall, the engineering and design considerations involved in creating log flume rides aim to provide a fun experience while keeping riders dry, or at least not completely soaked, which enhances overall enjoyment.
Got to ride it a couple of days ago on a HOT summer day and my group loved the ride. Went on it three times. For this being the first, it has great potential to make it longer, more of a story line and just better overall! Give it a A- Also, the water was actually sorta cold and refreshing!
This looks like a fun flume coaster. It seems like all the flume coasters are less roller coaster element and more log flume. Journey to Atlantis is one of my examples. The only coaster part of it is when you go inside the 2nd time and it's real short. Can't complain though these flume coasters are a lot of fun. I would love to ride this thing.
Thank you for sharing that! I loved the Bexar crossing! That park is actually the home park for my platinum pass. I live near Tampa now, so I go to Busch Gardens, Adventure Island and Sea World Orlando now. I may have to make a special trip back to SA to try that coaster!
Here at SeaWorld in Orlando, we have infinity Falls. The ride is constantly being closed down due to either the weather or maintenance issues. You could be waiting in line for two whole hours sometimes more and by the time you get to the front, they tell you the ride has been closed. It’s unfortunate because they close it so many times they might as well just permanently shut it down at this point because it’s barely opened! Hopefully the one in San Antonio doesn’t close as much as ours!
Could this system be used for a white water raft ride? I could see this being themed by Disney using Moana. After racing away from pirates, descend to realm of the deep (indoors and black lights), and geyser back to surface with elevator.
Potentially! Intamin has been getting pretty creative with raft rides. In Europe they opened one up that has a tilt table, rotating elevator lift, half pipe, and a drop-track sequence
Yes! Look up Infiniti Falls from SeaWorld in Orlando. They already have this. I ride it all the time minus all the times when they have it closed because they close it a lot. But basically it’s it’s a rafting ride and when you get to the elevator part it takes you up and you go down a slide.
Hmm, seems costly for not doing a whole lot more than a log flume out of the 70s. It could use more track up high like the ones of yesterday, a good chunk of the fun is riding up high for a few minutes
Looks like a fun ride with new elements. But water and technic/electrics dont go that well together so we will see how this wil be in the future. Think it Will be a lot delayed because of technical problems
For the money they wasted on that launch and idiotic elevator lift, they could have built the entire Knotts Berry farm Log ride, including the mountain.
Sure they’re unnecessary but it’ll generate a lot more publicity/revenue than your average log flume, I’d much rather go on a launched log flume than a basic one
Le layout manque d'interet mais le marketing etais surtout sur le flume lancées et la drop quasi vertical donc Six Flags a eu la superbe idées de la trimer
It’s an ok ride…kinda boring. If you are to have a catapult left, make it higher, then, have them suspended there for 10 seconds before the big drop, then have a big splash, where everyone gets soaked after the drop. Then, have a gift shop which sell $40 towels.
the long track to get to the elevator well is so boring its like another line before the final run. If it had some small hills een to work up to the hill then an elevator well doesn't really add anything but a boring two part ride. I'll pass.

This has some cool tech but it looks like a wasted opportunity. The launch seems misplaced, like it launches randomly, and for no reason, doesn't lead to anything particularly cool, just a strange bunny hop and then it's done. The vertical lift is cool but feels so bare. The big drop seems wasted because it leads to another bunny hop rather than a true splashdown section, and the theming is basically nonexistent. What little theming is there is super lame. Feels way too "modern minimalist" like they are tying to be like a cool modern campground or something. Idk, it seems like the cooler aspects of the technology were completely wasted in the actual execution.
How is this considered a coaster but a lot of people believe that Larson loops are not? I count Larson loops as coasters if a log ride with a weak launch and a bit of track is a coaster, then Larson loops should count too.
Trim brakes on a log flume is wild
