    Genuinely wondering what they would score if they were to compete at the olympics with this routine. I'm guessing something like 3/200, which would nicely show how impressive this sport is.

      To be qualified for the Olympics you have to be one of the best at the other competitions and you at least need 150/200 but if the would be judged in the Olympics standarts they would get 1/200

      @sparkletinkercat3458 3 ปีที่แล้ว +169

      It takes a lot of force to be able to lift people out of the water like that. The hardest one I have done when I was taught by two olympians was a pyramid. Very difficult.

    • @caroaraujog
      @caroaraujog 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Depends on the sport. I´m guessing it´s different with team sports, but in Rio 2016 Gwen Jorgensen was an accountant and Michelle Carter was a makeup artist. In México Olympians get a small lifelong monthly stipend once they´ve won a medal, and before that athletes are supposedly supported by the Conade (government institution)with a stipend and payment for coaches and travels to compete.. but for years they´ve said the conade doesn´t deliver. I think the institutions in each country behind athletes is the reason why some countries win more medals.

    • @bomsnose
      @bomsnose 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      depends. i know many olympians who have day jobs. or some work as trainers etc. edit: but yes, most get sponsorships

    • @pratfallpratt8998
      @pratfallpratt8998 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For synchronized swimming, they really don't get paid and as far as I know they're not exactly raking in sponsorships. Maybe some free gear once in a while, and I know they have thier own pool out in CA where they train. There's a national association that probably helps pay for them travel to the olympics and funds the national team, but they rely a lot on donations. The US team members in particular are quite young this go-round, iirc before Bejing a lot of the national team members retired and they built the national team back up from scratch, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of them still live at home. Though there's also the unfortunate fact that the sport is pretty expensive to get into, with team dues and gear and travel. As a result, in most western countries it's also an incredibly white sport (I'm of course largely referring to countries like the US and Canada where our diverse population is not reflected in the demographics of the sport due to socioeconomic links to race and ethnicity, this generalization of racial homogeneity doesn't really translate to Latin American or Asian teams as far as I know but if you're from those regions of the world or a another western/european country that's more diverse than their artistic swimming team appears to be feel free to chime in your thoughts). It is changing somewhat in the US, but very very slowly, especially at the elite level because the time cost of training is so high that it's nigh impossible to work a real job. It's probably a safe assumption that most of the women on the US team come from upper middle class backgrounds, so their families can afford to support them as they train full time into their 20s.

    When normal people joked about having normal everyday people trying these sports next to the professionals to show how difficult these sports can be.
    Here we have the try guys 😂

    When the guys were complimenting the girls at the end about how genuinely difficult their sport is, how strong they must be, I saw a couple shyly say thanks. I could tell from their faces that their words meant a lot. They deserve more credit as atheletes for sure

    Honestly really impressed with the guy's routine! I think its the sport they have the most natural talent in 😂

    Another riotous video. Having Team USA to guide and instruct The Try Guys was inspired. This is a laugh out loud video.

    I hearby nominate the Try Guys to be the "normal people for scale" for all Olympic sports.

    Please do the paralympics. We need more inclusion and respect for disabled athletes, and the sports we do.

    • @rowanw1312
      @rowanw1312 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But none of them are disabled?

    • @DreamBelief
      @DreamBelief 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rowanw1312 that doesn't mean they can't try para sports. There are actually quite a lot of people without disabilities who participate in para sports regularly. There are also events or places where people get to try them out to see what they are like (for instance, at the Australian institute of sport visitors can try out wheelchair basketball). Sure, they won't be able to do certain events, but there are many they could do easily

    Wow this showed me something I wasn't expecting. The coaches have different country backgrounds. I would of thought each country had coaches from the same country. This is very cool and I didn't realize.

    I like how there are multiple panels of judges. It's probably more stressful, but at least one panel doesn't have to try and focus on everything at once.

    What I learned from the series is: if you can’t be graceful, be hilarious!
