A fun toddler toy is a colander and pipe cleaners. You can weave them in and out of the holes in the colander and they are fun to pull out and for your toddler to stick in and pull out himself too. Hours of fun and great for hand and eye coordination and sensory also etc.
Concerning toys: easy jigsaw puzzles are always nice. Lilia loves her lego duplo sets. And she goes nuts about sticker books. They are really nice to get children into critical thinking and talking about why things go in a particular spot. My daughter loves to play board games now, too. A magnetig fishing game, a first memory game and a game called fädelraupe (thread caterpillar) where you thread small wooden pieces on a cord according to what colour you roll on a dice. As Kieran loves imaginative play he might enjoy a play kitchen or grocery store. A tool box with nuts and bolts is fun as well. Montessori would introduce pouring exercises now and you can easily make them yourself. Start with big things like dry pasta, then corn, rice, semolina and then finally wet things. Another typical exercise envolves using spoons. You prepare a tablet with two bowls. Put walnuts (uncracked) into the left one and have Kieran use a big spoon to transfer them one by one into the right one. Trust me, it will keep him busy for hours. You can spice the exercise up by letting him use different interesting tools on a variety of spooning material. you can also get Kieran involved in daily chores around the house. But the best you can do for his development is expose him to kids his age. Find a playgroop or consider daycare for a few hours during tge week. At one point kids will naturally seek out peers and staying home with only their parents just is not enough anymore. In my experience this happens around two and a galf years.
Good morning Stefanie, I popped on your Etsy shop and ordered a couple things for my little great nephew who is due this month. I love your sleep sacks , have one I have used with my last grandson and then with my other little great nephew who I take care of during day ..... just wanted to say that 😊 and love your videos ❤ and as a mom I understand how you are feeling, my boys are grown with kiddos of their own now but it was always bittersweet as they grew and developed and becoming more independent, hard on a momma's heart for sure .... you are proud of them but miss that needing you too ❤😊
A toy I will forever recommend is magna-tiles they're a little pricey but worth it great for open ended play and they're good for all ages and the baby can't choke on them
Hi have you tried having him cut pieces of play-dough with toddler scissors of course; it’s great for cognitive and fine motor skills as he figures out how to open and close the scissors enough to cut small pieces. My son loved it! 😊
My youngest graduates from high school next year! When you watch them grow to this point or beyond, it’s amazing but bitter sweet. It’s all apart of the process but I get that feeling. 😢 We just want them to need us always. ❤
You have a smart little boy on your hands Stefanie! Kieran is so adorable! He’s growing so fast! I’m sure you will find something that will peak his curiosity! Onto the next adventure!
I have 6 Grandchildren and they all love magna tiles!! I have now purchased 3 large sets. I gradually added the sets as my Granddaughter’s creativity levels increased!
Wow this is so true! I never realised until you said it Stefanie. Now I'll be more mindful when I play with my daughter and take time to enjoy sitting with her even though there's always things to do at home. I don't want mkss out while she's growing up
@@janellemiller1195 i think this may be the only year we can. Usually we put everything in the garage around early October, but we have a La Niña event this year... so a lot less rain than usual ☺️

My grandkids loves the magna triangle 🔺️ toys. They built many things with them. As a former teacher, I find them to bring out kids creativity. They are plastic magnetic toys. Used to be pricey but now it's not.
We had this same issue with my niece at age three and we got her an aqua water doodle mat! It’s little water pens that only make color on the mat, off the mat it’s just droplets of water. There’s also stencils that come with it to trace shapes.
@@JasmineSuggs-w3c he got a bluey water art book for his birthday and he ended up taking it into the bath with him 😅.... thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it☺️
I noticed from time to time in the background on the TV you have Baby Einstein playing for the kids. I too play Baby Einstein for my son Stanley who just turned 2 over the weekend. I've been playing it for him since he was a few months old and he still loves it. I've collected maybe 20 DVDs of Baby Einstein that I've found from various thrift stores. I also remember my sister played Baby Einstein for her oldest son, who is now 23 years old! Damn I feel so old, where does the time go?!
Hi Stephanie l think by the comments you hav e quite a few suggestions. My youngest grandchild is 12 so l was having trouble thinking back that far. Kieran will always need you he is just learning very quickly. Love that material you were using. Thanks Stephanie ❤❤
Really enjoyed this video Stefanie, your gifts for your friends last baby are precious 💕 I know my grandkids loved Lincoln 🪵 logs too, they played with them for hours. They are big enough so you don’t have to worry about the kids chocking on them!🫶 Much love from Debra in Maine 🦃☕️🍁
You should look at playmobil for your son, my 2 yr old daughter’s fine motor skills are through the roof and she can play with all the fine little pieces of playmobil. My 5 yr old daughter and 2yr old always play with playmobil everyday playing imaginative playmobil has a version for toddlers to help them grab better, I could imagine your son really liking that if he’s starting to use his imagination.
Stephanie it just means you are a good mom, but I do believe our children will always need their parents even if they don’t think so. Hope I’m making sense. Love your videos. God Bless your beautiful family. 🤗😅
My granddaughter loves Magna tiles. I think you are a great mother and your kids are so cute, but I have never heard your son talk. This is not a negative comment. I was wondering about it. I am a retired preschool teacher and I know that 3 year olds talk a lot. I love watching your videos. You are a very creative seamstress too. I used to make clothes for my daughter when she was young. She is 44 now. The time really flew by. Have a great weekend. Marie

That's good. He is recognizing shapes and colors. Yes I agree a day care program 2x a week would really help his verbal skills too.

Magnetic blocks are great and easy to clean up.
Lincoln logs are a great idea or if you haven't introduced duplo (the Legos for the littles) now would be the perfect time.

@StefanieandKameron also the duplos have stepped up their game I did a quick Google search and they have construction heavy equipment.

Lincoln logs or the Green Town Eco House block set
