This was really good! I was super impressed by how creative you made every page, it’s so clear you put a lot of time into it. I’m doing A level art right now and I love it! I’m actually going into law but art is just a way to distract myself from the really hard subjects I picked 🙏🏼 keep it up, you’re really good!
Amy Zhuang I can make another video on what they want specifically but basically they want to see you use different media and different styles and talk about where you got your inspiration from I.e. the artists and to analyse the work both the artist and you do like why they used that media and colour etc and what they are trying to portray
If it’s not for you, it’s not for you. But if you do enjoy art, personally I’d say just aim for a C. The more C’s you get the better. That is, if you want to get a reasonably high level on a college course. I learned he hard way. I’m on a level 1 art course and I honestly think a 14 year old would find it easy. It’s so boring, I learn more from half an hour of TH-cam tutorials then I’ve learned in 6 months of this shit. Though, I don’t know if the higher courses are any better, but from what I’ve heard, level two is only marginally better. Apparently level 3 is when it starts getting good. But I’m not going to go for another year and a half just to find out.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm a mature art student and missed out on GCSE coursework etc. It was great to see your planning and the layout, how you developed the theme etc. I do agree with some of the other comments in that what you presented was immense, but what I took from it was the structure, and that will help me a lot. Thanks for posting.
Wow how good are you?! I normally don’t write underneath videos but I just had to let you know how amazed I am from your creativity and ideas. You are so inspiring and I love your artworks, hats off!!!
Can you please do a video explaining the difference between the exam book and the course work book/ breaking down gcse art? I would really appreciate it as I am due to start soon and I still don't really understand it- loved this by the way! 💗
It's so weird, I'm doing gcse art at current time and my art teacher says we don't do enough to even fill one sketchbook over the full two year course, we use the same one all the way through. I believe mine must have a lot more pages I'm pouring hours into it because I want a grade 9. I have done much more than the rest of the class and am about to start a new project. The last one was Flowers and whilst my pages aren't too bad, I don't particularly like them. I want to lay out my next project in a much more pleasing way. I'm currently working at a grade 7+
i’m in year 10 now doing gcse art and i do not regret taking it. At first in year 7 and 8 i wasnt the best, but gradually ive become much better and i am producing higher work for my target. I’m now getting 8’s and 9’s when my target is a 5..
SO. I used to go to DESC. In year 8 at the Remixed Exhibition (I think that's what they called it), I based my "inspiration" off of your work. It was so gooooooddd!!!!!! Congrats on your full UMS!!
Hey! I've just got my intital marks back for this section of the course so that I can try and go over and refine everything over Christmas and get the best final marks in it that I can. I've lost pretty much all of the total marks that I've lost on AO4, which is described as 'present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of visual language'. I'm not exactly sure what this is wanting me to do so does anyone know how I can boost my marks in this area as it is really dragging me down. Thanks! PS Your art is absolutely amazing omg 😍
studyingwbu thanks! And I think perhaps it means to create your own work or your own version of an artist's work and it has to have a meaning behind it. So if you check out my other video with tips to get an A* in art I list a bunch of questions you can answer which would cover the 'realising the intentions' part. I think it basically means they want you to interpret your own art, i.e. if you use blue paint you did that to signify sadness. This is what I think anyway... I may be wrong! But hope it helps x 😊
Jughead Jones you have to have a lighter and a cloth/towel you dont mind ruining. Just light the edge and quickly dab it out with the towel. When it catches fire dont let it burn too long cus then the flame gets bigger. Do that all around the edge. Also, do it to the background before u actually draw/paint on it so if u mess up u can just do another one 😊😊
I am kind of confused what things do we need to submit to the examiners? Like how many sketchbook? Please can anyone help me with the details that what to submit?
I’m in year 10 atm and my pages are extremely high levels but just not my standard. I wanna go back and decorate because my book is so blank on my title pages
I am actually new in the Uk and I will do the GCSE art exam but I don't have any idea about it am sorry but can you tell me what we have to do and why there is alot if writing and thank you
I want to ask a question that if we are choosing Alice in wonderland so from where are we suppose to take pics from because in alevels we are not allowed to take pics from internet right
Wow your work is inspiring. Please can you give me advice on my to begin my work and how to I futhur develop it using artist research as an inspiration.
You could wonder off into different types of animals that represent that certain insect, explore different habitats of said insects, maybe what they eat and things as well. butterflies are a really good one as you can put alot of creativity into their wings. You'll get a lot of marks for contextual information, so I recommend doing a species page, writing about their adaptations and things. For the observational drawings, try using different mediums, maybe the rorsache technique, I dont know if I spelled that right lol It's been a while since I've done it. You can also maybe paint them really vibrant and colourful, as they are usually connoted negatively, so using bright colours while contrast it, if you explain that better than I just did, You'll get more marks! Maybe even explore patterns, as most bugs have vibrant colours and patterns to indicate that they are poisonous, from there explore poisonous things and so on. As long as you can link what you're doing to the them you'll be fine lol
im watching this WAY too late im already on my last year 11 book and this video just makes me regret everything ive done already lmao
Same I'm on my first book tho I m getting a C probably

Sonchika - would love for you to check out my art sketchbook video :)
Your sketchbook is so good! What does the examiner want from you BTW?

Hope it's not too late to ask but what exam board did you pass through? Thanks. Oh and great work by the way.
This makes me want to drop art

Sure! I will try to do one in the (not too far off) future. Thank you and good luck!

A well deserved A*
You are so inspiring ♥️♥️♥️
Hi Great work . My daughter is art mad and we are struggling to put one together with being home school 😢
Every single school I went to , someone in my class had the same name as me I kinda wish I had a cool name like yours 🙂
I might not choose art for gcse anymore 0_0
I am only in year 8 but idk if I could ever be that good!
You'll get better. I thought same when I was in yr 8 too
i’m in year 10 now doing gcse art and i do not regret taking it. At first in year 7 and 8 i wasnt the best, but gradually ive become much better and i am producing higher work for my target. I’m now getting 8’s and 9’s when my target is a 5..

And another great video :)

Genevieve Hall tysm for the help!! I'll go check that out now 😊
Was wondering how you burn the edges? Obviously because there’s a chance of burning the whole thing 😂

When it catches fire dont let it burn too long cus then the flame gets bigger. Do that all around the edge. Also, do it to the background before u actually draw/paint on it so if u mess up u can just do another one 😊😊
Use a wet paper towel or dish washing sponge to put out the flame. Or just quash it with a piece of metal
Hello have you done your foundation
You know... I think I’d be okay with a C.
First lesson tommorow. Any advice? x
I am kind of confused what things do we need to submit to the examiners? Like how many sketchbook? Please can anyone help me with the details that what to submit?
I'm doing art GCSEs but I don't have any artists that could inspire my art in the near future.
Around 2:09, how did you attach those? I love your artwork btw!!
Sxra Kxte I think I did it with a hot glue gun haha 😜 and thank you!!
I’m in year 10 atm and my pages are extremely high levels but just not my standard. I wanna go back and decorate because my book is so blank on my title pages
I like these vidros. Keep going. Can you do some studying type things maybe?
Emily W I'll try after Christmas!
Genevieve Hall you actually replied!!!! I was literally watching this video for the 6th time its so good

Your work is amazing! How did you create the contrasting spray titles?
Isabel Perryman thanks :) I explain how I did the titles at 1:20
Oh sorry, i'm not very good at paying attention😂 not sure how i missed it
@@isabelperryman9080 I can relate😂😂
Wow your work is inspiring. Please can you give me advice on my to begin my work and how to I futhur develop it using artist research as an inspiration.
Where all your pictures printed on special photograph paper ?
how do u write so much and know what to write
For me I research then write it on word then you just copy it
I had no idea what i was doing for year 10 so im doing my whole personal portfolio in two months :)
HAHA I QUIT HAVE FUN YALL
Would you say that having to be able to draw is a major part in this? (Curious for options)
Shade - yes. Draw - no. You can trace outlines, but if you cant shade, it'll look horrific.
Do you have to do realistic?
not always, but it is preferred
What exam board were you with?
Why are you shouting though. Killed half my brain cells with the first sentence
Welp i cant do art as a GCSE coz i suck at it and all they like is realism and i hate it when im forced to do realism
Some one help im doing insects as a theme and i dont know what to write or draw. Coz all i can think of is drawing a bug!! 😱😭
You could wonder off into different types of animals that represent that certain insect, explore different habitats of said insects, maybe what they eat and things as well. butterflies are a really good one as you can put alot of creativity into their wings. try different painting styles!! google pointillism and sgraffito as those are some easy ones x
lol she goes to my school
i just really struggle with layouts and never know where to start
There’s no way I could get an A lol
why you shouting
u over make noise
why does she keep shouting
I was wondering same Lol!😂
