for anybody that doesnt live in england, getting a 9 in gcse art is EXTREMELY difficult and you have to be crazy talented to get it. minty u deserve it so much !!! 💓

@@Kreativekailyn2010 they are exams taken in England, Wales and Northen Ireland . they are taken at age 15-16 in year 11 (grade 10 in America).
this channel was so important for me at like twelve years old way back when you first started! i commented under a different name and eventually just kind of fell out of this small youtuber art community and coming back to see what you’ve been up to is so cool and has given me such nostalgia… great job on your GCSE!

This sketchbook is absolutely incredible, I can tell why you got such a good grade. Not only are you incredibly skilled at drawing and able to draw beautifully in many different styles, you make every single page of this into a piece of art. The way you use different colors, layouts and compositions makes every page look gorgeous, and I’m sure that contributed to your grade. The mindmap and collages at the beginning look amazing, the way you arrange all of the text and pictures is just so perfect. And the colors and backgrounds you add to everything make it look more pretty and interesting to look at. And I’m just going to mention my favorite drawing, which is the one at 8:55… I LOVE the day and night theme, and you created it so beautifully. The woman looks very pretty, the colors are stunning and I just adore the stars and constellations you put on her face. I also love how there is some orange on the night side and purple on the day side, and the way you used different layers is PERFECTION. It makes the piece look ten times better. You’re an incredible artist, Minty, and this sketchbook blew me away. ^^

Hi! I definitely recommend a piece of tracing paper between two graphite/charcoal heavy drawings if you want to limit the amount of smudging. Some people don’t like loose papers in their sketchbook, but it’s a nice way to protect your art in a non intrusive way :) great art btw keep it up
I did do that throughout most of the year once I figured it out haha, but I guess I was too late

Im so glad your back :) you are the only youtuber that motivates me when doing art ❤ if you want to stop pencil/oil pastel or anything like that from sumdging u can spray a bit of hairspray on it (not until its drenched but like so it stays in place)

Well, I was never been in art school or an art class, and every time I saw someone's project I kinda feel jealous. I may try my own "school class" without been at art school. Like, I will choose a theme, give myself a time frame and have to deliver a final project. I think it would be fun!

Woah! Based on my brief art class experience, your assignments put so many others to shame! It’s far more inventive! I’d take those assignments over shading a circle any day heh heh. I love what you did with everything! Your art is continuing to blossom!
haha yes i’m so glad our teachers gave us a lot of freedom! they did help me a lot though when it came to final pieces, otherwise i don’t think i. ever would’ve went 3D

oh I’m not in 9th grade haha! I’m slightly older, basically grade 9 for this just means an A*, so we are graded from a score of 1 to 9 if that makes sense :) but thanks!

I’m actually not sure since my school gave the sketchbooks out, sorry about that! It wasn’t any special type of paper though, just slightly thicker than normal :)

icl idk what gcse stands for lol, it’s just a type of exam course, and it lasts for about 2 years with studying and coursework with an exam at the end :) then you get graded on a scale of 1-9

This is so talented you totally deserved a grade 9, which is so impressive. Im doing GCSE art right now it's totally stressing me out and have to put in so much work fr a grade 9 which is draining but at the end of the day it will be worth it as i want to go into art college and get into fashion design :))

I haven't started my gcse art, but i have seen other students' works. The booklets/sketchbooks are massive! I think that you only fill 2 pages per topic/ task. Im not sure since i haven't started, but i already know that i am going to have to free uo my schedule a little bit.
it can definitely take up time! just make sure to focus on having fun while u get it done and that’s how you’ll keep up with the workload!

i wish i knew how to pull off smth like this 😭😭my motivation is so on and off, and especially because i fully prefer digital and i dont actually have an interest in the art GCSE, though i really need to change that mindset if im looking for a good grade. i dont want an absolute perfect 9, i just want at least a 5.
the thing is, i want to go to an art college and so i know i have to take GCSE, ive heard bad rumours about IB art so im considering doing A-levels for art instead...

Hi I am a student who is completing my gcse art early,the topics i have done is 1 full sketchbook on natural forms and spirals then the 2nd topic is confectionary do you think i should mount my confectionary things in another book or should i put them on boards to get top marks? I have also only got 2 A3 big pieces do you think thats enough for the whole thing? any help is much appreciated!

for my second topic I just had all my stuff loose. I’ll make a video about that at some point hopefully, but I don’t think it matters too much how you put your pieces together, it didn’t seem to affect my mark but it could depend on ur exam board tbh. but putting them on boards would look good I think!

i might make a video about that at some point, but my biggest tip is to make sure u keep up with the work set by your teacher, and maybe do some extra! also try to write as much as u can, it helps a lot :)

ooooh well me personally I would just draw faces lol as I have done, for identity. but you can really do whatever you want as long as you can make a small link to the theme!
