As I have said before Donn, Please move over to America and come be my neighbor. Your a one man manufacturing plant and capable of a great many things.... You make your homeland quite proud of you.
I can't even begin to imagine how many hours of planning goes into these projects, both before you start them and even in between videos. Thanks for sharing, as always stay safe
@DonnDIY I am so curious how you will manage building the truss to the necessary precision. I have no doubt at all you will succeed, I just cannot see how yet. Gonna be a tough week waiting 😂
I binged the last 5 videos, since I've been moving and missed them when you released them. I first started watching you with the wheel widening rig, and I'm continually impressed with your ability to follow through on your plan, making changes when necessary but not getting sidetracked and losing the plot on the build currently underway. I do wonder how many projects you have in mind, and how you can possibly keep them all straight, so that one doesn't bleed into another. You must've driven your mom mad doing stuff when you were a kid! My condolences to her for her sacrifices!
I do get sidetracked sometimes (as I did with the 8x8 Argo) but try and finish all the projects I've started. I usually start building things I actually need to use at the homestead so when the motivation fades over the course of the build process there's still the need for the machine that keeps the project going. So it's kind of a failsafe built into the project.😀 I haven't asked my mum, I hope I wasn't a huge PIA.🤞🤣
Coming together, make yourself some tapping blocks, just a block of steel with clearance holes for your taps, 4/5/6/8/10/12 > saves the wonky start when tapping.
Coming along very nicely !! Looks like your getting ready for paint next .....this has coming along way ....amazing work as alway's can't wait for the next video !! 👍👍
When farm life gets fully automated, Donn/DIY will be there filing the patents! Awesome; when you started I was really worried you might have over reached; my bad; somewhere in your vast resume, you must have worked around one of these babies for sure! Big machinery companies like IH, John Deere and Case should fear you mightily, Donn! Those "no user servicable parts" labels are mere snap for you to remove and turn obsolete!
Your saw mill is coming together nicely. Whenever I make a nut plate I drill the hole enough oversize to be able to use a flat head machine screw to center the nut on the hole for welding. That way I never have to worry about the final bolt/machine screw dragging on the hole. You don't seem to have issues with this but my method eliminates any chance of this occuring.
Disassembly means time to move on to the next stage and we find out how long of a main beam will fit into the DonnDIY workshop. Plus speculation can begin on what colour of paint Donn will use. Classic DonnDIY Red/orange is my vote. 🙋🏻♂️
@AW-Services Look on the bright side. At least when Donn does a time lapse he doesn’t play annoying music to fill that void. 🤷🏻♂️ Of course your definition of annoying may be different than my definition of annoying.
Can't wait to see it hit 88MPH! 😂 What's the machinery that's running in the background? I've heard it in a few of the vids now. Is it an extruder / filler of some sort?
I was wondering how he would be able to have fine control with the ratchet. Great suggestion. I think you have the solution. How about use the winch to get it close and then have a worm driven fine adjustment? Maybe an expanding (worm driven screw) mounting plate under the winches? Just a thought. He then wouldn't have to rebuild the whole setup he worked so hard on. (Settle Down, people. 😅🤣😉).
Hey, Donn! I've been wondering for a couple of videos what machine makes the funky sound in the sped upp footage, e.g. around 5:00 compressor? Air filter? Fan?
Hi, Donn. Is there possibility to rent your rock crusher? I know, from Latvia it will be long ride, but localy i tried to find one whole summer.. didnt go well. Smallest i could find was about 20 tonns.. much too much for my pile of bricks and gasbetons..I have a pile of rocks too, but i need them for another project... so no, wont be crushing rocks.
Hey, purustus.ee makes these for sale. That's where I got the flywheel from for my own rock crusher. You might want to contact them and let them know I sent you.👍
Hey lil brother by another mother. How about a lil outside weather clips in your videos(yes I know that you're uber busy editing all of your audio while also trying to fab, engineer, and build, but some of us,especially those from Pensacola Fl,USA areas want to know whats going on weather wise wirh certain folks around the globe...or maybe it's just me bruv...😮
I'm looking at the blade manufacturers website - 550 mm diameter blade optimal rpm 2400 (3500 max). Mine will be around 2800 rpm. So no worries. I can always play around with pulleys.👍
... Is is it just me.. or does this just seem to swing the blade.. "the wrong" way ??.. Like it travels down the length right.. And usually you want to be able to cut down the length.. in two direction.. This.. cuts... Down the length and then swings.. and cuts.. Across??? is my brain not braining here?!

Let's hope I don't run into any trouble while fabricating the beam/truss and I get it done and get the sawmill together and working properly.🙏👍

You are creeping up on 1 Million Subs, Donn!! You deserve it. You can mount your TH-cam 1 Million Subs Prize on the wall of your shop!!

Looking Good Donn. Thanks for sharing with us, catch you on the next video, Stay safe, Fred.
Thanks, Fred!
Continuing demonstration of ideas that's time has come great video.😊
Thank you!

Can't wait to see the first log video of this build.
Great video!

I am so glad you know what you're doing because I got lost a few eps. ago lol...
🤣 I explained how this mill works at the end of the previous episode. That might help.👍

❤let’s see it working
1:20 put a little brass puck between the bolt and the plastic so it doesn't chew the plastic over time.
Favorite thing in this video for me was that ruler hocus-pocus! 😎
Cheers mate!🙏
I'm digging it Donny
Cheers mate!
Вподобайка.👍
That’s proper tidy, but a lot to dismantle for paint!
No worries! It's a much simpler sawmill compared to the bandsawmill I built and didn't paint at all in the end.😬😀
Increíble proyecto!, muchas gracias por compartirlo!.
Thanks for watching!
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Donn!! Woo Hooo!! Beautiful build, as usual!! 🤩😃😁🌍⚙🔩🪛🔧🪚🔗⛓

Classic DonnDIY Red/orange is my vote. 🙋🏻♂️
We really need a in-depth video what works what and how once this great project is done!
😉👍👍👍
I did explain how this sawmill works at the end of the previous episode.👍 Maybe that'll help?🤙
Quality video
The "Rocky" Theme!!
Coming Soon, T-Shirts Sporting the words, "Like A Glove!!". 👕🧤🤣😂
Some brilliant innovation I find the audio to sound a little odd. Like a slowing space deep black hole effect that slows and echos 😅
🤷♂️😀

Hello Donn good job it's coming along really good well done
Thanks!
Ahoj, dnes se mi líbí tvoje video ještě více než jindy, když jsem viděl že jsi použil klínový řemen české výroby značky Rubena 😉👍
Thank you my friend
Thanks for watching!

I like fast motion and written description. Fabricating machinist I'm assuming? Enjoyed watching.
Yess, Rubena belts here from CZ =)
Absolutely!🤙
Great work 🤘🤘👍
Cheers!
Le esta que dando un aserradero genial . 💪💪👍👍👍
Super boulot garçon 👍👍👍👍

Glove-ly well done.

Welding gases exhaust fan 👍
Мегамозг👍
9:47 yes 🙂 Made in Czech Republik
👍
👍👍👍!!!
🤘🤠
Was just thinking, you might want to have a form of a safety switch for each cutting plane that must be engaged (locked) in order to run the mill.
I might.👍
I think a winch with a worm gear instead of the ratchet would give finer depth control.
I was wondering how he would be able to have fine control with the ratchet.
Great suggestion.

Yup, it definitely would.👍
👍
OK Donn, I have to ask.... What color are you painting it when you get done? You have never disappointed me on colors in the past sooooo?????
No idea. Sliding bits and the boom will probably be black. But other parts... we'll see.🤔
👍👍👍
👏👏👏👍
👍💪
Hey, Donn! I've been wondering for a couple of videos what machine makes the funky sound in the sped upp footage, e.g. around 5:00 compressor? Air filter? Fan?
The exhaust fan.
Can you tell me what kind and size saw Blade you used and possibly where you purchased it. Thank you
I used nook.lv custom 6 tooth 546mm diameter ripping blade.
👊👊👊👊

Back to the Future 😅

Weather is getting cold - around 0 degrees Celsius, -2 this night.😀
It'll be throwing chips in no time.
Do you have blue prints for the swing blade sawmill?
Hey, no unfortunately. I just sketched some basic dimensions on paper before I started fabricating. Everything else was done on the fly.
Maybe I don't understand, but shouldn't the blade swing in the other direction?
I explain how this mill works at the end of this video: th-cam.com/video/URGqc8nJO1M/w-d-xo.html
@@DonnDIY I see. Great work. I love your videos. Can't wait to see more.
I forgot, why did you go with electric motor that requires being close to house?
I do not plan to make the sawmill mobile. Being close to home is more simple.
Thus the electric motor.👍
Put a bike or motorcycle grip on your handle. 🚲 🏍
Tubli töö!
Suured tänud!
How the hell are you gonna generate 1.21 gigawatts! 😂😂
😀
LAS MATAS DEL MOTOR CON 2 TORNILLOS LO VEO UN POCO MAS AMIGO .REFORZAR CON OTROS SOPORTES Y TORNILLOS SERIA MEJOR
Selle saega palki horisontaalselt saed, vertikaalselt ei sae, vaid järkad.
Järgatakse ikka mootorsaega. Selle saeraamiga hakkan ikkagi palgi pikisaagimist saematerjaliks tegema.👍
Eyecrometer
You know it!🤙👍😛
The pulley ratio is way too fast. Blade speed needs to be 1500 to 2000 rpm for a 6-tooth blade.
I'm looking at the blade manufacturers website - 550 mm diameter blade optimal rpm 2400 (3500 max). Mine will be around 2800 rpm. So no worries. I can always play around with pulleys.👍
