There isn't a piece of music that Ms. DiDonato does not completely throw herself into. Marvelous and Brava!

Dear God, I love this! Joyce DiDonato has such a huge and impressive singing range, and portrays a very spirited and determined Rosina. Which I find really cool. :)

DiDonato might not have the most fireworks, but I always find her performances to have the most character. Maybe it's because she has such a great public personality, but somehow that very human Kansas-ness comes through, and it's charming. Totally embodies Rosina's young, feisty spirit.

Berganza,Baltsa and even Bartoli are real Rossinas. DiDonato is pretty bad considering she’s seen as operatic star. The voice is open, vibrato caprino and like most Americans incapable of pronounce proper Italian

And....you left off your list good Rosinas (which only has 1 "s" in it) Callas, Horne, Sills, Flicka, and a Plethora of others

@@rugby8-Philadelphia As as professional I gave an opinion, that any singer with professional with knowledge of proper use of chiaroscuro, even vibrato and the importance of pronunciation would give me the reason. You like this woman great. Still you can’t argue the voice is open (sometimes nasal),vibrato caprino and the mistake almost all American singers do. Not studying Italian well enough.

      A professional what?
I have been a Professional Musician for over 40 years. A Music Director, Conductor, Coach, also a performer.
What you are expressing is *your* opinion. You are certainly entitled to it, however, that doesn't *Not* make it fact. Purely opinion.
Based on your statements, I'm not sure you even know what chiaroscura is.

I am so glad someone can still identify bad vocal technique! I am always amazed to read so many excellent comments about those kinds of singers. The way she sings can seem cute and pleasant to listen to. BUT this is not good operatic singing. The voice is grossly underdeveloped. The main problem that stands out for me is lack of proper chest voice development. Without chest voice everything collapses including diction. The low register is small, thin and overcovered. Like many undertrained singers nowadays she might even sing in the wrong register and be a soprano!
