I grew out my gray during the pandemic, and I am surprised at how cool my hair looks. I have a couple of gray "chunks" that my hairdresser calls my "money pieces," because, "girl, people pay big bucks to get this look!" Let the gray-flag fly!
Going natural is super freeing. Learning to be content at every stage of life is a good thing. You’ll be beautiful whatever color yr hair is. Have fun on the journey.
For grey I was told "A year to the ear" My grey was a bit past my ear at one year grow out - longer in the back of course. I think grey hair is absolutely beautiful! I am glad people are letting themselves enjoy their real colour!
I am almost 89 and I still have my hair colored a reddish brown with green eyes and pale skin. When I tried to go grey it was not pretty. Also, my hair is so fine and thinning, I keep a Bob that is undercut in back that is so easy to manage. I love your fav colors as they are also my best colors. You make your videos so fun….I have been a fan since your first video.
I’m 46, have about as much gray hair as you and have never colored my hair. Whenever I think about it, it sounds exhausting with the upkeep! I’m good for now and really do not mind it. It shows my age and so what! ❤
I stopped coloring my hair after my twin sister passed away at 47. I used a semi permanent dye and a short style as I grew out my gray. It only took a few months. The color would fade out slowly. My gray is similar to yours, sort of sprinkled all over with mostly brown so I didn’t have the harsh dark hair/gray hair line some folks have.
It's none of my business, I know, but I think the width you have in your hairstyle is very flattering and draws attention to your lovely eyes❤️ I only found you with shorter hair, but I have looked back at ones before and you look like a different person. Always enjoying your content thank you xx
WOO HOO! It's coming along nicely!! It does take a while to grow, for sure. I got a pixie cut when I did it to speed up the process. I love embracing my grey, and I get a lot of compliments on it. I'll never dye my hair again! 😍
We’re here to cheer on all the new TH-camrs-because we’re all just winging it anyway, right? Let’s grow, laugh, and maybe even go viral together (or at least pretend we planned it)!
Good job there, Diana! I've been growing mine out since 2018 just because I could and with long hair I'm glad not to color anymore. I still am mostly brown and am concentrating on treating my scraggly locks 😀 with good hair care!
Your grow out is going beautifully! I did this in 2018. I had a very bad outcome with a temp color. Left a lovely (not really) purple ring around my head adding an extra highlight between the old and new. What did work for me was cutting my hair in a shaggy cut shorter and shorter throughout the year. By the end of the year I cut the last of the color off. I’ve been so happy with the choice. I encourage everyone interested to go for it. Natures highlights are sometimes fab!
Wish someone did this years ago, I am now totally silver but there were years of in between hair dying! Twenty years ago in my sixties I had enough and went with natural hair color! Fortunately it looks compliment worthy now! Love your content and style!
Guess I missed a lot of experimenting fun by never coloring my hair. Maybe I'm a French girl after all because, you guessed it , I don't care! (I know I'd be bad at keeping it up.) I have enough fun watching my daughter-in-law's hair go from pink to purple to gray and back again.
I would stop the dye and just let your hair be. You have so little grey that the grow out would look very gradual. And you would know what your true colour is. Just my thoughts. You are very beautiful!
I love your channel! I grew out my hair, went from blonde to gray. It’s not that noticeable. My friends hardly noticed; yay for me! I loved your gold sequin scarf in one of your shows. I am on the hunt for one! 🧣
I grew out my hair starting at the end of 2018. I am thrilled not to have to dye it anymore. It is a bit of a shock, because it changes the contrast from my skin, eyes, and hair, but I would never go back to dyeing it. I am FREE! In the house my hair looks pretty dark, but out in the sun I am shocked at how much silver is in it. Yes, the silver does make me look older, but older than what? Older than my age? No. Older than people used to think I was? Yes. I did it all cold-turkey, and it was REALLY difficult once it got past the tops of my ears. But, I should have done it long ago. Happy-happy!
I'm letting my white hair come in naturally. I'm naturally a dark ash blonde, so it's not hugely dramatic, but it did start with an increasingly wide white streak split by my natural part, so it is pretty visible. My Mom's whole side of the family starts going white in high school, and are bone white by 30. My hair was like theirs, so I always assumed that would be me, too. Nope. I didn't start getting my salt until my mid-40's, like my Dad. It still takes a bit of deep breathing at times, as I kind of thought I might be immune after all these, but... I like it. My favorite comment was from an extremely well groomed and high maintenance friend when I told her I was deliberately letting it go white. She studied me very seriously for a few moments, then said, "Your bob, pure white, with red lips? So chic." That's the mental image I'm holding on to.
Girl..I went on oral minoxidil.5mg and the hair growth is dramatic. It’s fuller and the hair loss from menopause is gone. Now I’m growing out my pixie cut to get a little more length😊
Impressive video, UnBlah Yourself. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I smashed the thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your approach to transitioning with demi-permanent dye is fascinating. Have you considered the potential impact on the health of your hair with repeated dyeing during the grow-out phase?
New subscriber here. Loving your videos. I am becoming addicted to thrifting, and I am having sooo much fun! Can you offer any advice for finding natural fabrics? Can you list some of the brands that are always desirable? Where I am shopping, I am seeing a lot of items that appear handmade and are without labels.
Just ordered. I’m grey, and I ordered a dark ashy color. We will see how well my grey hair takes to color. I’ve haven’t touched my natural color in years.
Have you heard of pantothenic acid? It's a B vitamin that helps retaina nd regrow natural hair color. I started taking it along with my B complex about 90 days ago and wow! I can already see my dark hair coming back! I buy a brand called Jarrow Formulas, it's 500 mg. totally love it!
Purple shampoo will work to re-tint the orange parts. I wouldn’t do any dye any longer. LUSH makes a fabulous purple shampoo. There is no dye in purple shampoos.
I have colored my hair (blonde) since high school. At this point my grey and blonde look pretty similar and I am going to transition very soon. A bit scarey since it's been so long. I grew it out once in my 30s and it wasn't great. My hair seemed quite a bit darker and my fair complexion just looked ... faded.
With your cool tones, going grey/silver will look great!

I really like your hair shorter. Really suits you

I worked with a lady who had black hair but had a white streak in front on one side. She looked fabulous.

Thank you, Diana. Great idea. Your hair looks so healthy and fab!
Diana, I really hope you're safe and well. Worried about you!
PS I love the new colour 😊

IMHO, your short haircut is perfect for you!
Oh I think so too . Looks great !

you look great in that warm grey sweater. I
You're still so beautiful, elegant and pretty
Beautiful 🫵🏾
I'm on month 10, also!!!
I’m not sure that the orange is a good advert for the E-Salon stuff. Your natural hair is beautiful.
What is the color combo ratio did they give you??? I use eSalon and have a similar tone to yours.

It can be very beautiful to go from gold to silver.
Not everyone looks good with gray, silver or white hair just like not everyone looks good as a redhead. Depends on your complexion
How about au natural, Ms Diane?
❤
