Nah Arslan arguably is the best player in Pakistan and the world right now. Recently Arslan beat the Jon in first to 20. Arslan also recently beat awais and Heera Malik in grandfinals.

I saw this match live, superakumae was playing for like 30 hours straight, he was already in another universe.
The tier list would be the pakistani players themselves.
Any objective analysis still shows that overall and even considering risk-reward, Akuma is the strongest character. Hell, even if you only looked at the Pakistani scene.
The character needs to be nerfed. Every other player needs to step it up. IMO Channel is getting there. Arcades in Korea in Japan need to be relevant again.
Super Akouma's personality is why some people troll him a lot. He seems a bit full of himself.
I would be full of myself if i main akuma. In terms of looks and personality, akuma is a badass, which will make the players also feels like that.

I think it’s pretty clear even from these early matches that the jon is extremely familiar with akuma. Sidesteps punish hadoken, ducks df1,1. These are things I’ve never seen anyone do yet really. Looks like akuma’s popularity in pakistan is making a difference.

Khan, Bilal, Atif Butt, Heera, arslan and even The Jon himself they all know how to play akuma at a very high level so the opportunities they had to learn to fight akuma clearly make them above everyone else in the world when it comes to fighting Akuma.
Of them all Awais honey is probablythe best akuma but the others are extremely good also FAR stronger than Super Akuma who in a lot of people's heads was considered best akuma kek.

While I agree about the sentiment behind your "if the top 20 Pakistani players attended a major 7 out of 8 in top 8 would be Pakistani", I reckon due to relative international tournament inexperience, half of them would be poorly seeded and we'd instead see something just as telling where most of the Pakistani players are knocked out in pools or before the top 8 by other Pakistani players. You'd have fucking titans like Heera getting knocked out off stream by some hidden boss Pakistani Lee or a flyby Anna rocketing into the top 3 after knocking Awais into losers and the only people who wouldn't be surprised would be Pakistani.

Those aren't even the greatest players. Pakistan players will tell you all the time that there's way better players who just couldn't travel enough so yes that's awesome that they're showing their all and for the people back home.
For real many countries have monsters who just can't show their skill. Guatemala for example has some serious monsters.

Picking up Marduk and I watched this set before, but with no commentary on another channel. Your experience with both characters and added commentary really helps with learning, thanks!
I mean, SuperAkouma had the most predicatable pattern, and he repeated it almost every round. Poke, focus attack feint, poke, low poke, low poke, fake a combo starter with Hadoken, go for combo after that with the exact same Hadoken/Shoryuken starter into bar use, or fake one more Hadoken, repeat x100 and lose 10-0.
People tend to forget that Pakistanis are asians too and we all know how good asians are heh.

The Jon is a fundamentally strong player, that's why his Marduk is so good. All good Marduks are fundamentally strong players, they don't do anything fancy(as it's not necessary), they just outplay their opponents.
As good as Super Akouma is, Akuma is an incredibly strong character. It's like giving a master plumber a giant toolbag with all the best tools.

Akouma looks so defeated by his mistakes, he progressively makes more as the sets go on, shows how much of a snowball Jon got by just denying Akouma any of his chances by consistently spacing any d3’s and in the early game punishing a ton of his hadou cancels by stepping and launching which made Akouma even more hesitant to try them. Not to mention the chokes at round taking matches where Jon, nearly completely calm just takes it back.
He also played for like 8 hours straight each day, far from peak performance for sure.
IMO he is doing what every pro out there should be doing.

The score doesn’t do the match justice, the majority of the matches were close, just The Jon knew how to close out the rounds, as he plays Akuma for a secondary, and a great part of the Pakistani Tekken community play Akuma. Having said that, SuperAkouma won the Lyon Mixup TWT tournament. Imagine if the Pakistani players where there.

The majority of players do not know how to fight vs high level Akuma that has a lot to do with how well SuperAkouma performed throughout the years, that character wasn't really a threat to most people because not many played him at a high level but now it's a matchup everyone is becoming more familiar with.

Javier Acevedo They do matter. However; who they actually matter to is what people really miss. They only matter to players who completely understand matchups and have adequate knowledge of the game.
Also tier list are assuming that both players are playing the characters to their max potential. Jon is better than SA though imo.

@@TheEverglader a pakistani player won evo with kazumi by pretty much poking all of the worlds best players to death and not taking too many unnecessary risks... a pakistani marduk player absolutely trounced what was at one point the supposed "best akuma player" that was being "carried" by the character no sweat to the point where he just started playing with him half way through the set like a cat with a dead rat (excuse the shit rhyme it was unintended) cuz his defense and knowledge both with and against the character was just that good. Point is our region sucks cuz no one puts in the same ammount of effort as pakistan or korea to lab any of these "high tier characters" the way they should, i guarantee you if the pakistani players wanted to they could easily use any character they wanted and steam roll through damn near anyone with the exception of a few players that actually spend their time in traing labing every single character which honestly aint alot of players

I recently moved from USA back to Pakistan, and its much more difficult to win against online players in Pakistan than i was used to in the US. Also, people do play here online a lot but we dont have many streamers here.
Online play in pak sucks. If you really wanna get owned go to a arcade centre then you ll see proper players

I am a total scrub who mains Marduk. He is a steamroller. Defense is difficult with him, as is punishing. But his momentum and oki is nuts, and his damage is crazy. If your opponent is on the offensive it can be tough. But The Jon's defense is impeccable.
This was disturbing to watch then I don't know what Atif Butt vs Super Akouma (Akuma vs Akuma FT10) was. That was scarier

Me too i used to main him until i realized how mutch cheese he got and stop playing him cause i was feeling bad for my opponent.Also Marduk is a character for high level players and not cause he require execution but because if you are a low tier player or newbie you wont learn tekken fundamentals or movement.He will give you bad habits like tackling all the time insteed of learning movement.Craig marduk will curry a noob until a certain stage after that he will get embarrassed.Cause all he knew to do is taclke.
I am not surprised at all, if "the incredible" superakuma loses 10-0 against this Pakistani player for certain reasons: 1 the Pakistanis know the matchup against akuma well. 2 knowing the Supertuma matchup well, he has difficulty managing the game ... not like in Europe, which plays without scruples playing "in a spoiled way". 3 loses for the simple fact that he does not play with certain character set-ups and does not adapt to the opponent's game ... end of story

I don't think it's absolute and the round robin at TWT will hopefully show that. Anakin beat Jimmy who beat Arslan who beat Anakin. It's not guaranteed that because a player beats someone that they are way above every other region. They are very good but I absolutely believe they can lose to Korea or America. Chanel and Jimmy are recent examples of people who either beat or came very close to beating the top Pakistani players
