From Canada - thank you for recognizing Myles Goodwyn at this sad time…. April Wine and the Guess Who were two of the first Canadian Bands to break through in the US …. It was very exciting (and they paved the way for a lot of great artists to follow)
@@DavidB-2268 I must have missed that about Chad Allan. How many guys walk away from two future Superbands. A good tribute to him would be Dunrobin's Gone from Brave Belt, I think that's him singing lead.
Great Song. Had a friend (Larry) intro. me this band back in 1979 in H.S., then they came to town, which I got to see in Az. that was a tour I won't forget. Thanks Larry(RIP).
I believe that's a studio track over a concert performance. I am sad to find aboot Myles passing on this video. I am glad you guys love some April Wine. I rock out to this band All the air guitars and air drums Joy indeed God bless everyone
RIP Myles. This band was such a huge part of my youth. Like a fleeting smell can remind you of an event or place, April Wine sends me rushing back to an era, like a dream I don’t want to wake from. An incredible band. Well done, Canada!
I am a 57 year old Canadian and I cry every time that I hear this song. It is because this IS the most beautiful expression of a man's love and it hits home every day. Thank you so much for playing it! RIP Myles Goodwin, please be heaven sent my brother and fellow Canadian!
April Wine- Not only a great CANADIAN band, a GREAT BAND period.!!!!! A lot of the credit goes to Myles' writting, singing, and guitar playing- not to take away from the talents of the other members , there wouldn't have been April Wine without them! RIP MYLES, Jerry, Jim, Steve! THANKS FOR THE MUSIC!!!!
Another earlier April Wine song to check out is "Tonight is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love". A little bit different song from these guys with a bunch of cowbell.
I still say April Wine is Canada's greatest music gift to the world, and Miles Goodwyn is rocks greatest vocalist. RIP my rock hero. So glad I got to meet and talk to you in person. Love and miss you.
I'd have to pick Rush as Canada's greatest musical gift. Also loved The Guess Who. Burton Cummings had one of the best voices in the history of popular music.
Hi, I used to hire them for our high school dances in Montreal. Gerry Mercer (Drummer) and Brian Greenway (Guitar) were also members of other great Montreal bands.
Saw April Wine a few times back in the day and they always gave rock solid performances...not sure you caught the French line " seulement entre toi et moi " which is French for " just between you and me". Canada back then was mostly French and English. Nice touch Myles. RIP
I am a Canadian (and proud of it!), and this band is INGRAINED into our culture. From Tonite is Wonderful Time to Fall in love, to Oowatnite, to Enough is Enough, to Sign of a Gypsy Queen, this band is SO popular. This song is their quintessential ballas, and is perfect to karaoke to when you want to impress a girl on a date. RIP Myles Goodwyn! There's a corner office in Heaven's rock concert line-up with your name on it!💔
Growing up in Halifax, I always thought ‘oh, I’ll go see them at the Misty Moon when I’m old enough’. sadly I never did. (Saw Jeff Healy though). Love this song. So sad to hear about Myles passing.
I really love this song. I was a hopeless romantic in high school, and “Just Between You and Me” was one of my absolute favorite love songs when I was a junior in high school. ❤
We must be near the same age. Ballads like this were the all important 'slow dance' songs at Jr. high dances. Those of us who felt awkward dancing like goofs to the fast songs (i.e. most of us) could with a ballad waltz, drape our arms around the one we liked, hold them close, feel them breath, and slowly move in circles to the song while the rest of the world stood still. Ah! Those innocent teenage years in the 1970's!
@@rossmacintosh5652 Perfect description….I remember those feelings! This one came out in 1981 though. Those teenage years were definitely times we cherished.
Same here, Mr Wilt, loved this song I was either a sophomore or junior when April Wine opened for REO at the Kansas Coliseum-$17 for a ticket, man those were the days
@@allenwhitmer8192 Hey, man. I’m from Overland Park. I loved my entire high school experience; however, to this day, I have one major regret about high school. I had a ticket to go with friends to see Van Halen inside Kemper Arena in 1981 or 1982….81 I think. The ticket was $10. I still remember. BUT THIS FOOL DIDN’T GO!! Why? I was taking an English course titled, “The Term Paper”. Our entire course grade was writing a term paper like we might in college. I had blown it all off for weeks. So I had to use the entire weekend to write this 22 page, typed paper. Fortunately, I did get an “A”. Teacher thought it was best in the class. I said….it ought to be. Do you know what I gave up?? If I had the chance again, I’d go to see Van Halen. Lol. 😢
Canadian here. Good one guys. I grew up on April Wine and saw them live, great band. They were actually known for their great rock ballads. You may want to check out “Rock and Roll is a Vicious Game” or “Tonight is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love” I enjoy your videos, especially after a hit of sativa lol, keep’em coming.

I saw April Wine at a VERY small club in Nanaimo BC Canada about 15 years ago. Club holds about 300 people. The band played this show as a warm up gig for the much larger show in Vancouver a few days later...Anyhow, like I said 300 seat venue, the boys hit the stage with nearly an ARENA CONCERTS worth of guitar amplifiers behind them. WHAT AN AMAZING SHOW! but i don't think i could hear anything over the ringing in my ears the whole next week!!!!🤣🤣🤣👍Worth it
My first as well, Halifax Metro Centre early 80s, the opening act was Tom Cochrane and Red Ryder (White Hot) I don't know if they did Lunatic Fringe. Saw a post on a reaction channel from a guy in Iowa or something like that who saw the same tour.
Love April Wine! They have many great songs like Tonight Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love, Oowatanite, Bad Side of The Moon, You Won't Dance With Me, Cum Hear the Band, and I Wouldn't Want To Lose Your Love.
Oowatanite, a long time curtain raiser for AW and one of my faves. On a tour of Europe in the early 80s they did a TV show in England called Rock Goes to College from Reading University, this was their opener. It still can be seen on video.

Just Between You and Me" is a single by Canadian hard rock band April Wine, from their ninth studio album The Nature of the Beast, released in 1981 (see 1981 in music). As a teen in the 70's growing up in Nova Scotia, April Wine were the BOMB, saw them at least twice in Sydney before moving west and then two more times in Calgary, probably the best rock band ever to come out of the Canada and Goodwyn doesn't get enough credit for his song writing, amazing talent.
