Everything has it's compromise. Power cords. +Pos+ they deliver a lot of power that's non-stop. -Neg- they have length limitations, tangles, fray and will electrocute you ;) Cordless. +Pos+ portability. -Neg- Batteries, limited power, extra weight, guaranteed to go bad and need replacement, expensive.
Didn't even mention cordless glue guns (ryobi) but baseboard is my favorite application. I use a lot for returns too on crown and making makeshift jigs.... but baseboard by far is the ultimate hotglue hack
No need to put paper around your tool to make a cap for it... just oil it or grease it, when it's dry you just slip it then wipe your tool. if you lost a cap do the same, the twist it off and there you go!
Also, hot glue can be used to quieten a dog that won't stop barking. Simply apply the glue to the dogs mouth area and clamp the jaws shut until the glue sets. Alternatively, if the barking is coming from a neighbour's dog which you can't access due to a fence or gate, squirt the glue into one's own ear-holes to block the sound. If you need to sleep during the day but find the sunlight bothersome, a quick dab of glue to each eye-lid will keep the eyes shut, simulating darkness. Alternatively, if you have to work a nightshift but can't keep your eyes open, the glue can be used to stick the eye-lids into an 'open' position, thus allowing you to safely operate machinery, etc.
The downside to glueguns that no-one talks about is that glue gets everywhere.. and you end up wasting a lot of glue as glue tends to over-melt and leak out the nozzle.
Can you use hot glue on laminate wood? I want to do a diy but I want it to be permanent. If not this which glue is the best to glue rope to smooth shiny laminate wood?
