  • The Internal Family Systems Model is an integrative approach to individual psychotherapy developed by Richard C. Schwartz in the 1980s. It combines systems thinking with the view that the mind is made up of relatively discrete subpersonalities, each with its own unique viewpoint and qualities.
This interview explains the links between IFS and how to locate parts with beliefs around money, work, worth that may be getting in the way of our fulfilment, wholeness and happiness.
Derek Scott is the founder of IFSCA, a certified IFS therapist and registered social worker with over 35 years of experience. You can find out more about the workshops he offers here: ifsca.ca/workshops/ and his TH-cam channel here: / derektherapist

this video is great for those people who have tried to manifest abundance through the law of attraction and failed. I spent years doing affirmations and visualisations and it didn't consistently work because of my childhood parts that had learnt its hard to make money. you have to struggle to make money! when it didn't work my shaming and worthlessness parts kicked in and round and round you go! ifs is life changing 💚

It is so true, your family relationship to money where you were a kid has a big impact on how you relate to money as a grown up. My parents were far from perfect, but at least they showed me how much was enough and were happy with whatever they got. Thank you Cleona and Derek for the lovely interview.

Could be... or acidic food if you are a pitta type or repressed emotions like grief and rage... Or something else.. So many reasons and then the body responds clearly to the stress felt.

I wasn’t familiar with IFS and this was a very interesting interview to see how our thoughts on money are connected to something deeper.

I like to mix these videos in with all of the other videos I listen to. I know that I have lots of parts. I am just having a difficult time identifying with them and relating to them.
