Hi Anna! Thank you for the tutorial, my lace was beautiful! But I do have one question. I tried to attach the lace to a buttercream (not fondant) cake with edible glue (water and tylose powder) but it wasn’t working great. What to your recommend to make sure the lace will stick to the buttercream?

Hey Anna! Can I attach the wafter paper to a buttercream cake or ganache cake? And once I attach it to the cake, can I place it in the fridge or will it dissolve? Thanks!
Yes you can! Generally, if a flower is fully dry (made a few days in advance) - it is safe to put it on the cake and in the fridge. I put my cakes in the fridge in a corrugated cardboard box and let them sit at room temperature for a few hours to avoid condensation. And I never have any fresh produce in my fridge, if I’m working on a cake. However, it is important to know your fridge and your room humidity because the difference causes condensation, not the fridge itself. It is better to use a hygrometer and check the humidity to protect wafer paper from melting.

Yes, the same. Wafer paper, especially fried like this is very stable and I use it on Swiss buttercream all the time.

I haven't tried with rice paper, but maybe to make the mixture thinner (more water) and use higher heat? Bubbles are from boiling the mixture quickly

Yes you can! I recommend using powder color, I find gel color might make it sticky

You can use buttercream or royal icing to attach wafer paper decorations.

Thank you. Piping gel is a clean neutral gel. It's thicker than glucose syrup and dries faster.
