I love that top-down angle of the corner watching the riders lean over. So cool!
You know what would be fun. Jeff coming over here to the Netherlands and do some crits with Glen over here. Really curious what he thinks about Dutch crits and the level over here.
🤓🤓🤓
I race crits in germany, the european scene really is a whole different ball game, it would be great seeing Jeff getting a taste of our culture.
@@leonharddearaujoalbrecht8543 Back in the day when I was young and actually could ride a bike we also went sometimes over the border to do crits in Germany. Lots of fun
time to meet the 'grasklinkers'
I am seeing a euro tour, we have a nice crit course here in Ireland as well, do Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands.
4:07 easy on the chamois cream dude
Fabric softener + sweat = suds
Epic footage as always, Jeff. I know you're used to it, but it looks scary as in the pack bumping shoulders and fighting for position - all at 28 mph +. Chapeau.
Geoff lol
@@LooseWheelFilms Doh! I meant, Jeff!
Being able to taco your front wheel like that without crashing is even more impressive than the speeds these guys maintain!
Just a thought on the stats HUD: The power bar on the screen could be on some sort of logarithmic scale since 90% of the time its under 500W and the significance of 100W delta is more important at the lower wattage than at the sprint wattage. Anyway, love your vids, always glad to see an upload of yours
Every time I see someone in the wild suggest a log scale (correctly!), a data visualization angel gets its wings.
Bold of you to assume he wouldn't get ten thousand comments asking about the power scale being off
Shoutout to Mason Schofield (Clif Bar Rider with the monster pull to the break)
Great effort and amazing footage. Nerves and trust like that are exactly why I'll never be a crit racer! Imhe it looked like Ryan did get unlucky. Nothing on the derailleur owner though. Didn't act spooked or over-correcting. To me it looked like he got out of the saddle to punch out of a corner (normal, right?) and thus righted his lean angle at the moment Ryan allowed is wheel to sneak in. Bad luck happens when it's pushed to the limit like that.
Great video as usual, would love to see some more videos with Glen!
Was nice meeting you here! Great effort!
what were the average mph/kph numbers during this crit?
@@christoph1 25-31mph. Some courses were faster than others.
That train going by at the same speed as the bunch was indeed very trippy! Also, the rider in the yellow jersey looks so smooth and solid especially compared to the jittery style of some of the riders around him
Great video, and racing. and more Glen!! also that CliffBar rider. jeeez what an effort.
Sick coverage as always. Hindsight is always 20/20.
Lombard is my hometown, so Jeff's yearly Intelli Lombard breakdown is always special.
As always, great commentary Jeff! Love your work brother.

Looks true to me, its all balanced up all set to go. 😂
Ah, Lombard. We used to have to drive all the way out there for RadioShack district meetings.
Jeff. you probably have answered this but please tell me what rear camera mount you use, I cannot find one I trust, Thanks GREAT RACING !!!
I wonder how the derailleur faired after that incident. The spokes certainly didn't appreciate the contact.
Wasn’t legion on the front going into one lap to go. Was your boy 🤑
Should’ve slowed down and waited for me 😂
That happened to by back rim yesterday
16:25 here's what fucked the wheel up
I’d like to see more Glenn too
The drone shit is insane!!!!!
6:22 these slow motion telephoto high res shots are cool. Who is making these?
NorCal Cycling 👌
Never seen a square bike wheel before. Must be hard to ride like that.
Yes, bring back Glenn 'Grasklinker'!
your buddy ryan rode his wheel into that dude's rear derailleur is what that looked like.
You should get race footage from around the world to see how they race where.
Waaayy better vid than your normal Alviso
That wheel! 😬
just noticed rewatching your races like this, you are not wearing mikes bikes jersey
Ryan drifted out into him. Guy was literally rim almost on curb, ahead of him, and no where to go, but hold his line..
Can the wheel be fixed ?
Looks like 183 used all the chamois creme!! 😂😂
Slipstream-Chipotle team frame at 3:30 on the left.
There should be more international crit racing. Get these pros to go against the bigger European or road teams. The world championship was basically a crit. Would be interesting.
no offence but if u put this field against teams like Alpecin, QS or Jumbo they all finish on 10+ minutes.
I just purchased a set of Reserve wheels - why? They are guaranteed for LIFE! Any reason, they will replace the rim. Good company.
Ok but what about the spokes?
@@LeConcerto rims only. Hubs and spokes are not covered.
Who's the Blazers rider in the US Champs kit? I thought Luke Lamperti was the US Crit champ?
Blazer is amateur champ luke is pro champ. USAC should have a different jersey imo
@@NorCalCycling amateur champ, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying.
We want Glen!
I low key feel like Netherlands has the best crit racers in the world it would be interesting to have the best racers from usa and Netherlands in the same crit race
Why don’t you wear Mikes Bikes kit here?
17:15 well you wouldnt know the Legion rider was coming. But if you did decide to jump and go with it, it would have violated the "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" concept no?
yes i would have, but the cost in energy to jump on would've been paid back in full (and then some) by getting into good position at a critical moment in the race. easier said than done, that's why nobody else was on it lol
Are these guys changing gears at all or they in the fastest gear most of the time?
changing gears to keep it at the most optimal cadence (leg rotation rate), which varies based on personal preference but usually between 75-100 RPM
speeding with a train I see
This wheel is like a thousand bucks burned in less than a second - how can you guys afford going through material like this? :D
No longer with Mike's bikes?
No he's still racing for Mike's bikes most of the time, just not for the Intelligentsia series
Im surprised the frame is intact considering the brand of the bike.
I put my cheap alu wheels under for crits
4:05 bruh. Does this dude in front shit like a goose? What the heck is going on here?
Lmao America has the best crit racers? Legion would get blown out the back of a club level kermesse in the Netherlands 😂

There's a moment at about 5 laps to go where you get very excited about being able to shoot easily to he front. It's as if you've been given a doorway no one else saw. Except to walk through it, you're riding at over 400w while everyone you pass is doing around 100w. You thought you were in a good place near the front after that, but those riders who were resting knew there was still time and their leadout trains knew. I think you played yourself out of the race at this moment. You thought you were reading the race well. Instead they were reading you and you fell on the sword near the front.
