King Protea works extremely well in this fight thanks to her health stacking mitigating the max hp downs, Skadi NP's insta-kill immunity also having a use for once was kinda wild. This fight can be horrible, but with the right team it's honestly quite a fun balancing act
I didn't talk too much about the other contracts Mephisto can give. You don't really have to worry about them in a rushdown strategy. But for the record, he can give the other enemies contracts too. These can involve taunts and poison-on-hit debuffs, but these have drawbacks for those enemies after two turns. Supposedly, he can also give one of your servants a full bar and NP damage buff at the cost of killing them once it expires. I haven't seen that myself though.
I just want to say that these breakdowns have been really helpful, just walking though the steps while they're happening is much easier to digest than trying to read about them on a wiki. I've completed a lot more of these than I had anticipated thanks to your guides.
I ran Passionlip for this fight and I have to say that it went quite well. Her being tanky meant that the max health decrease wasn't really a factor. It was a real shame that her second skill didn't activate with reduced maxed health. It took 20 turns but it worked out in the end.
@@Shadowfire129 I ran Waver and support Merlin, with Hans and Mashu as backup. I think my final slot was a taunter, either George or Leonidas. Basically you want to save your NP for when Clown is on the field. Otherwise focus on riders and berserkers that could crit your support casters. Put 2030s, Prisma Cosmos, or other forms of star gen/np gen on supports. Lip has damage CE.
@@DarthKalamity don't have a high level George or Leonidas at hand, or at least I'm going to have to actually level them, both level and skill wise so they don't fall down like a house of cards, don't have any 2030's any alternative's for that?
A lot of what makes them look super easy, especially on TH-cam, is that you don't see all the failed attempts. Quite a lot of the difficulty simply comes down to the high amount of randomness inherent in a lot of these CQs, where an unlucky crit or bad hand can cause things to spiral out of control. Another part of the difficulty comes from the rather complicated design of the CQs. But they're complicated, not complex. Once you understand what's going on, execution is actually pretty straightforward... assuming that circumstances actually allow you to execute. The problem is that the barriers to execution are often outside your control, such has having the right characters or the right RNG.
As much as I do like fgo, it is really brutal for newer players imo. The longer you play, the more resources you get access to, whether it better servant variety, servant strength or lots of friends to pull from. That being said, even after playing for around three years, some of these challenges are still a pain. Rng and Murphy's law does not help either lol.
@@KreuzDrache it's my 2nd year of playing fgo, so i thought i can clear all the exhibitions relatively easy. God damn, i was wrong. No taunt ces, instead of pulling Merlin i pulled lowkey the worst 5*,which is Bunnytoria, and generally i got only low tier 5*, apart from Skadi, summer Archer, and maybe sth else. After loosing whole night to clear jaguar, I'm just gonna farm boxes in peace. Single tickets aren't Worth it.
Tbh, what surpises me about these EQs is the fact that I didn't use BB for any of the quests eventhough I rolled for her specifically for high difficulty contents.
So the gist of this one is: Run some way of removing that Buff Block so it doesn't get in the way (Clap man helps) Pray you don't start with the Buster Buff contract because that's not a fun time You're working with a lot of random buffs with horrible debuffs coming your way; some of them instagib once their duration expires (Rare instance of Caster Scathach NP working well due to it preventing such things) If the instagib don't gib, he will also cut max HP by a lot AoE Rider, Alter Ego or Berserker help in taking down this fight as well as clearing up the trash mobs. Preferably ones with self-charges, I presume (I have Astolfo so I guess my game plan for now is "run something similar and pray I get the same results") On break, Joker Prototype will purge all buffs on the field and may summon more contracts Despite its complexities, it does look like one could be able to clear this one without too many hardships. May try this one myself and see how it goes. Otherwise, I'll go back to the lotto farm.
The mechanics for this fight are mostly surmountable, but I'd argue that three values are overtuned, which can crank up the volatility quite high for lower-end setups -the volume of the attack debuff from the buster contract -the volume of the defense debuff on mephisto's second bar, which lasts a *very* long time since he keeps leaving the field -the volume of the defense buff on his second bar's taunt contract, which is a *nightmare* if it ends up on the knight. Kingprotea and Arjuna Alter are top dog if you're set for your own supports and want to borrow for DPS. I'd say Arjuna is a better lead, and Kingprotea is a better anchor, if you plan to field two attackers. Arjuna's guts skill can help push through the initial buff block, and can also be used to extend his longevity after the instant kill drops him on turn 7, if you don't build instant death immunity into your team composition. Give him invul with a teammate or mystic code, let the damage CE's guts effect proc, then apply the guts/regen on turn 8, and with any luck, you can get him to stick around for quite a while longer.
I used my maxed out Gorgon as my main attacker and a friends cu alter with damage ce on. I used her so I can have aoe and slight np gain, as well as an additional guts use. That being said, Skadi was a big part too in protecting against the death contract. I never would have thought of using Jinako though.
I did this with Kingprotea because my Drake and Astolfo were both only at NP1, so they ain't doing diddly squat to the other mobs. Unfortunately, KP is also only at NP1so I had very little room for error- moreso that the comp I copied required Outrage, which I didn't have. Had to use a CS to force an NP at one point, and I still doubted she'd be able to pancake him at the end. Still extremely happy to finally be able to use best giant daughter for what she was made for. Fully lored her just for this.
Waver - Berserker Lancelot - Skadi Waver and Skadi with 2038 and Lancelot with event CE. At very start use all your buffs (starting with 3 most useless ones to get rid of block first) since they should be up again in 5 or 6 turns and you will burst down first break bar while buffs are still up. Try to not kill adds as much as its possible to not get to Knight you saw on the video Like Fino said reset if you get the burster contract on main dealer. Mefi will show up on like turn 2. Then you need to deal enough damage to brake his bar with good NP + brave turn from your Berserker. Reset till that happen. Keep stalling for few turns trying not kill any adds and he will appear again on turn 5 or 6. This time he will have massive defense buff. Use all your buffs again and deal a lot of damage to him. Then he should be down by many HPs and your first 3 servants will die. In my backline i had Nitocris + Ridertoki + Mash. You will get like 2 turns before enemy show ups for last time use that time to charge Ridertoki NP. Activate Nito skills and make NP chain with Nito and Ridertoki. Nito will kill mobs while Kintoki should finish up Mephi. Yeah this is not easy and will require a lot of resets, if you dont have certain servants you need to replace them best way you can.
Summer BB can actually just not get affected by the insta kill, so if you run her as your main attacker (which was what I did) you can have a decently safe run, plus she has a giant health pool at Lv 90 so the gibbed 10k max HP won't be too much of a problem after factoring that she also as a good heal and evade skill.
Something to keep in mind for the fight, Mephi's break bar isn't just a buff purge. It is a full reset for EVERYONE, including his team and your team's debuffs. If you have any contract punishments like that 90% attack down from the buster contract, he removes it in addition to all your buffs. Plus he also removes any buffs he or the minions have gotten from each other. You can see it on Hans, his buff block is removed while Astolfo's buffs are removed. So if you plan to run some solo strategy with QSH, it means you can stack up the contract debuffs, then get them purged to hurry and finish off Mephisto when he is the last one left.
I did this fight with Kingprotea and she slams down on exhibition quest pretty hard. I ended up killing all the enemies and left Mephy for last. The only advice I have for a KP comp is to bring Skadi for her NP. You don't want Mephy to suddenly purge all her growth buffs and have the instakill pop her guts. Lot of anxiety waiting for those growth stacks to come back.
You were extremely lucky on turn 6 to land the right cards, and to crit on both Skadi and Astolfo to charge their NPs. I ran 6 times and it always went wrong here (or the Clown not killing the Doctor on turn 3).
Wait, the contract expiring counted as instant death effect? And here I was, running Martha DPS frontline all with guts CEs and backline with ideal holy kings...
I tried brawling with mothman but he keeps dying. I think the easier strategy is have a pocket mothman for if you main strat fucks up, but it was pretty much bad rng, I got crit 20 times in a row when I tried it solo
I struggled pretty hard with this one since I like trying to do these fights blind and ended up killing every enemy with sick dantes looping thanks to skadi, asclepius, and nero bride. Nitocris also helped clean up some of the mobs and a cu alter from my support list worked as the finisher once the clown was by himself
I cleared this with Rider Ishtar, but boy did i have to reset several times because he would give Ishtar the attack down buff. Skadi did help this fight though by keeping Ishtar alive. Definitely, an annoying quest if you get hit with bad RNG.
I tried Marie NP2 (grailed) in the hopes her debuff cleanse spam and healing would work, but it just wasn't enough damage. Ishtar Rider really was effective and my recommended strat.
I did this with Parvati, merlin, skadi, asclepius, mash and ushi as last resort and went with the stalling. 44 turns and only Asclepius died. Mephisto has very low dmg by himself so he can easily be tanked even with lower max hp after all the enemies are dead. The only problem was keeping skadi alive for good looping and evasions from her np.
@@Anacone Skadi NP nullifies instant death effects. For the buff and np bar removal on mephis' bar break I made sure my party had as much hp as possible before breaking his hp bar and I saved everyone's skills since parvati, merlin and skadi all have skills for np gain and survival. Then I just built up skadi and merlin np asap with those skills and arts chains. I was lucky that mephistoteles did not manage to kill anyone until I got the nps up. After that the battle was as good as won but you really need to plan ahead and be lucky, which gladly I was :) Iirc I broke his hp bar when he was 1 turn away from nping so I could use merlin's illusion after the break to mitigate mephis' np and my whole team gained a good chunk of np from it.
i ended up blocking the instant death with skadi and then murdering everyone with kingprotea. She died at the end but I had a support Ozy to finish off the clown.
I tried to copy an Arjuna Alter run, but card rng would never let me charge his NP when I needed it. Eventually had to seal charge him to win. Of course it was annoying enough even finding an AA on my friend list, despite having several of them.
This was one of the easiest cq so far. Just get a lvl. 100 Arjuna Alter NP4 or 5 from your friend list with damage ce then just NP brave chain the clown whenever he appears xD.
Do I feel wrong for cheesing this quest with Godjuna, Merlin, Waver, Mash, George, and a friend's Cuzerker as an anchor? About as bad as I felt doing the same thing to Jaguars and Neros cqs. Which is to say not even a little bit :) some of these mechanics are so annoying it's basically cheese or have an aneurysm after the 9th run not giving you the exact cards you needed on turn 37 and losing with only 50k health on the boss to go because your man Leonidas just ain't pushing those numbers with his dinky qqa chain. Case in point, I'll leave the low rarity/meme runs for Memerson. I like many others just want to hit big red buttons and watch the enemies health bars go *brrrrr*

True, I finished this fight with clearing all the enemies & finishing Mephistopheles alone on the field with Kingprotea in 23 turns.

The poision and HP Down is the combo of cancer. This is worst than Taiga. Taiga might be a bitch but at least you don't get an uncontrol instakill

Same here. Most likely because many EQ give you a window of opportunity when one of your servants dies. Very antisynergistic with the Faceless Moon

Mothman (as Fino noted) and Jeanne solos are possible. Neither are really enjoyable, but are also relatively braindead in execution.
Ah the stall god becomes useful again. I used him with Waver and Merlin in the MHXX CQ and he survived 17 turns at 1 HP.
He's been the MVP of this event for me. Clearing the Sheba and Casgil CQs wouldn't have been possible for me otherwise

Ended up just stalling with Jeanne, Skadi and Tamamo until Mephisto was the last enemy left, then had Cu Alter with damage CE to finish him off.

I don’t recommend breaking Mephisto’s bar on turn 6. It will kill your entire frontline…

The only thing that annoyed me on this CQ is his death skill... Not the countdown one but the one he uses randomly on someone after few turnd

How you avoid Mephisto cleaning all buffs and killing all with kill command.

i brawled my way through all 30 units with davinci lily lol, didnt even realized it until only Mephistopheles and a yakuza came out on like round 20

Do I feel wrong for cheesing this quest with Godjuna, Merlin, Waver, Mash, George, and a friend's Cuzerker as an anchor? About as bad as I felt doing the same thing to Jaguars and Neros cqs. Which is to say not even a little bit :) some of these mechanics are so annoying it's basically cheese or have an aneurysm after the 9th run not giving you the exact cards you needed on turn 37 and losing with only 50k health on the boss to go because your man Leonidas just ain't pushing those numbers with his dinky qqa chain.
Case in point, I'll leave the low rarity/meme runs for Memerson. I like many others just want to hit big red buttons and watch the enemies health bars go *brrrrr*

I use Achilles in this fight, clutch the shit so hard with 1 hp left but not gonna lie this CQ is pretty fun
i really didnt like this CQ,relies TOO much on RNG,at least the dead after 6 turns is something consistent.Even min turning this was a pain.
