Two weeks ago I bought a nice art deco table, full oak, no veneer. I took it apart, did some restoration on missing parts and put it back together, which took me many hours of dedicated work. Now, I have been looking for the best way to finish the oak, since it looks kind of yellowish, though I have sanded it to the bare wood. I would like to get rid of that ugly yellow. I have considered white wash, but I feel not like experimenting. Maybe, oil is a better option to obtain a light but fresh looking finish?

Maybe it's an accent thing. The only problem I had was music too loud, and his mic is definitely too far away: any noise brings the voice level down; he needs a lapel mic.

Why white spirit ? Is it necessary ?
white spirt can clean up tiny dust in the grain and pores. make the coating looks better.
What was the cleaner you used with the 600 grit paper?
When you say white spirits, same as what they call mineral spirits/ paint thinner in the states?
