Changing brake to clutch pedal isn’t required, just change the brake Saturation to 100. You’ll get 44% braking by the point the pedal gets hard to press and then if you press harder you’ll get the full 100. I have mine at 80 based on the amount of pressure I can do to get to 100 but just adjust it based on your leg strength. You want it set so when you’re pressing the pedal hard you’re just hitting 100%. An F1 brake pedal in real life is HARD to get full braking.
I've been doing great braking with left foot on the clutch pedal and throttle on right foot. I agree the brake pedal on the G920 is absolute trash. Left foot braking with clutch pedal is way better
I bought a GTEye brake sprint and put it in the clutch as the stock clutch spring isn’t that stiff. It’s now awesome and way better to play with it mapped this way. I the bought the same spring and put it in the brake too, removing the brake block. Both mods make the clutch an brake so much better.
I have found that the centering spring on this G920 wheel, I can't seem to stop it when in this game. It wants to center back too hard. I can adjust it for non-force feedback games in GHUB to a nice value of like 20% but as soon as in the F123 game it goes to being really stiff pulling back to center. Anyone know how to reduce this?
I bought g920 yesterday and was worried that the brake pedal is faulty coz it just wasnt braking. As suggested in your video I swapped clutch and brake however facing difficulty in session menus where still brake is the default to swipe to car setup or advance or mesagging tabs. I mean even after the swapping brake and clutch, 'Left Trigger' or 'LT' is still set to brake. Is there a solution for this?

You probably already figured it out, but I had the same issue. If you assign the brake to a different pedal and immediately go to test the calibration, you won't be able to test it because you'll first need to save the change. Since the change hasn't been saved, the game won't recognize that you've swapped the pedals. So make the change, save it, and then go back into the edit to test your new assignment.

Uh oh. Not sure about that honestly. Do you have it adjusted in Ghub? If you are on PC you can adjust things there as well. Not sure if that would be a culprit. Good luck!
Totally disagree with using the clutch as the brake. Use the brake as it was ment to be, you get about 40% brake upto the part where it goes really hard, but then you can't reach 100% so you increase the saturation and keep testing in the button test in the setting screen untill you can get 100% with a little hard press once at the rubber block in the brake so you get the intended 2 stage brake.... OR do as we did, buy a truebrake mod from axc-sim with the 40%/soft spring in the piston and then use the short hat so you get about 1cm of initial brake which gives you about 25% brake pressure before you push past that for full brake, you can easily drive with no abs and not lock up. That wheel damper is way too high, go watch some of the eSports drivers they have it very low/off and the wheel rotation is way too low. For your acceleration of you are suffering spins with no TC you need to add about 25 throttle linearity so the initial press is sufficient to get the car moving and you don't press 100% until about 3rd/4th gear (manual gears)
Do you have a Logi wheel? Just curious, because if you do, you would know just how terrible the brake pedal is 🤣 I know a mod works, but I'm not spending more money on a mod for something that should just work when the clutch pedal works perfectly! @@ConnerSpeed6 highly recommend you taking a look at the axc-sim brake mode, it's a linear potentiometer with 2 springs, one for initial travel and then a harder spring for the 2nd stage...which comes in 3 different weights but I use the softest, it's easy to take up the 1dt spring and it's more of a squeeze for the harder brake zones which is more akin to a proper brake pedal

Hey, I am having a bit of an issue when I open my "controls, vibration and force feedback" settings. I have a wheel which is being read as steering wheel but has all the calibrations of a xbox controller. For example the up shift is a instsed of the shifter. I can change the bind of them but the steering is very wierd compared to the other games. I want to click a preset but none of the presets are there, what should I do?
@@ConnerSpeed6 after having a quick look I realised that the icon is a keyboard but the name of the device is steering wheel, so basically I think that the wheel works but all the inputs will be like a keyboard meaning that I need to have 100% steering to just start to turn the car. You mention how you swapped the clutch and brake mappings for the G920 given how difficult it is to use the stiff brake pedal in the game. I did that myself and found it much easier and smoother for braking, but quite difficult on starting a race. I now had to push quite hard on the clutch (now the brake pedal) to get into first gear for the flying start -- only to have my chair roll backwards as the lights turn green. Are there any settings for clutch to make it easier to engage?
Been playing this game for a while but my problem is that in game, my wheel is only at about 90°, but my logitech steering wheel has made almost a full rotation
Just take the rubber piece out of the brake pedal spring? Plenty of yt vids on how, takes 10min. You can even go one better and get an upgraded progressive spring, highly recommended. You get a way better feeling brake.
Sorry but I disagree.....You just need to set things up right.....I actually like the brake pedal on my G920, it's got a lot better over time as the rubber block they added has got softer just by playing and using it and it's a lot better now and a lot more realistic than using the clutch pedal. To save you locking-up when using the brake pedal and help make it feel a lot better, you simply need to tweak the saturation and dead zone settings in-game, this way you can get it spot-on with the pressure you wish to apply, it just takes a little trial and error testing to get it set-up nice.....It even shows you the pressure you're applying in the options menu to help you set it nicely, this way you can enjoy the full range of the brake (without having to stand on the brake pedal for max braking anymore) and the rubber block actually feels more like a real car then. Imo, The best way to get all your wheel settings set to the way you like with more realistic handling and feel is to actuallly play time trial, then just pick on one setting to adjust at a time, then change that setting to either Max or Minimum then go and drive few few laps, this way you can really feel what that setting is doing and changing, then slowly adjust it up or down, a little bit at a time, test driving a few laps after each slight adjustment then tweak a bit more then test again etc. etc. etc. repeating this process until you get each setting dialled-in so it feels and works realistically and just right for you !! It takes time (especially if you play a few different games as each needs setting-up like this) but it's the best and most thorough way to get everything set-up and dialled-in properly and once it's done you don't need to change them again.....If you've spent the money to buy the Sim Set-up then it's worth it to take the time to get it all set-up right for each game, this way you'll get the most from your games and racing rig.....Enjoy !! Hope this helps someone !?!?
For anyone searching for good wheel settings for pretty much any wheel except for Fanatec direct drive wheels: 150 1 1 1 somewhere in between 1 and 7 (makes you're wheel feel heavier.) On Somewhere in between 300° - 360°

Definitely not required, but I still highly recommend it personally!

You can modify your brake pedal by removing a small rubber piece inside of it which makes it a lot easier to press down fully.

Try decreasing the 360 degree down a bit helped me it's in the calibration settings I think

that’s exactly how mine is, it might have to do with the sensitivity of the brake but idk how to change it
I made my paddleshifter that shifts up a gear my clutch when held in try that it works a treat for me.

Instead of mapping brake to clutch, you can put the sensitivity to 100 (max)
But then that makes it even MORE easy to lock them up 👍

It takes time (especially if you play a few different games as each needs setting-up like this) but it's the best and most thorough way to get everything set-up and dialled-in properly and once it's done you don't need to change them again.....If you've spent the money to buy the Sim Set-up then it's worth it to take the time to get it all set-up right for each game, this way you'll get the most from your games and racing rig.....Enjoy !!

Hi Conner, thanks a lot for your video and your good explanations. I struggled a bit to find better settings for me compared to the ones I user in F1 21, your data definitely helped me on that. I personally prefer 300 degree rotation more because it feels just a little bit smoother in some turns on different tracks, you may check that out. All the best 🤟

F1 rotation is 360 and linearity is 0….super cars are all different in real life ….most are around 540, but exception like the McLaren is 480
