I have mixed feelings! On one hand I'm so happy that you guys got a house (and it's beautiful -- I used to work in-home with a child w/ autism at AMR, so this video brought back such good memories), but on the other hand I'm surprised (and upset) that the military moved you guys in while the water situation is still going on :( It's probably not safe to wash your clothes at home right now, but when it is, I highly recommend getting your washer/dryer from Costco! If you don't already have a membership, get one lol. I promise you the way us locals shop is at the commissary (for those of us who have access, and a good amount of us do) and at Costco/Sam's (but I think Costco is way better for multiple reasons). I'm so excited for you guys! Aloha & blessings on your new adventure in Hawai'i!
We definitely have to get a Costco membership. We havnt right away because we’re only 3 so we don’t need much in bulk lol. But yessss we need it ASAP. Also, they did try and hold him back 2 more months but when they told him he was already in a hotel with all of our stuff shipped out.
But it is pretty annoying. The could have kept us in the hotel till then. Or at least give us the home but still have to hotel. Lol. I don’t know. I hear that’s how some people have it here.
Beautiful house!!!! So jealous of the weather there lol is freezing today in Germany 🇩🇪 Hope you guy enjoy your time and make new amazing memories there!
Ughhhh! I bet! I was so sad we were leaving our apartment to a smaller home since that’s what I kept seeing on Zillow, videos etc. but we definitely got a good home and when we leave Hawaii I’m sure I’ll be thinking the same. Hopefully onto a better home lol
Well i was happy in the big apartment in Ramstein ^~^ but after being sent to New México i feel im in hell hoping to be sent to another base any base away from this damn desert states, would love Hawaii, Florida, Utah and overseas not in the USA well Japan ❤ but many people say the housing is like a shoe box.
Great Video! My husband and I got orders to move there in October. We are trying to start a family this year and absolutely loved your homes layout! I’m trying to get on the waitlist and wanted to know what your floor plan was called? ❤
I lived in Two houses in Hawaii.IMy first house in Earhart was a ranch house that is what me and my parents started with. I also had private alley way to a swing. I also would walk to school since this house was so close to my school. This was also where I began my journey with Henry my dog who sadly isn’t alive anymore. My second family house was on Gemini avenue for hickam. I would ride my bike in our court some times with other kids and sometimes by myself and some of the kids became my friends and I also would play tag games on the Television.
Okay this is so funny when I was moving to Vilseck I came across your home your video and now going to Hawaii and here we are lol I appreciate your videos trying to figure out what community we’re going to just going through what ever I can find
Did the house come with a AC unit ?😭 Hopefully, it does. The humidity is no joke. Beautiful home 💜 Can’t wait to see more content in Hawaii so exciting.
This is AMR. We went thru island palm community. So schofield is a bit far from us. My husband works in Shafter. (Love it 100x more the schofield area 😬) we’re so close to everything! (Honolulu) Anyway to answer your question.. lol Schofield is about 40 minutes away
Water situation is back to “normal” however it’s something I think this island is going to be dealing with for ever. Leaks and rumors come and go. So it’s almost never known how certain it is. I personally will never drink from the sink water again. And I’d get shower filters. Etc.
Island palm community in AMR. Rank was E6 I believe. Although they don’t go my rank here. My same neighborhood has a mix of 3 & 4 bedroom, and then some 5 bedroom ones around the corner. This is on a military community. So all bah is taken. Honestly. We wouldn’t be able to find a better location, we considered getting renting/buying but every place was too high. We’d be paying a lot more out of pocket. Plus not as big/new/pretty 😅 So this was definitely the best option
It is amr. I’m not exactly sure what floor plan this is 😅 I can’t remember. But we did have 2 offers(other floor plans) before this one and didn’t like them as much. Also, it’s a 3 bedroom. So I know there is a few more floor plans than the ones I was offered.
A huge house! Congrats. I feel a little uncomfortable at that living room. Quite unusual for Germans to drop into it by the main door. How are you going to clean the window above the stairs? In the end it depends on the decoration and furniture arrangements. At least you have a/c I presume. Also the shop area in the garage is great! Will you purchase a table saw? A drill? So Niia can learn woodworking from early on. Or making leis?
That’s one of the main things I thought about! I have so many wood related things I want to do lol. You’re right! In majority homes I visited in Germany there was always a little hallway/room
@@NathalyRaya We have that hallway called Windfang (wind catcher) because our climate is more on the cold side. So in order to keep the cold out a kind of air lock is installed. It oftentimes serves also as a quasi "walk-through" closet to hang the outside clothes and change the shoes for Hausschuhe (house shoes). And since the living room is mostly at the opposite part of the house that is also where you have the terrace and planted garden (instead of a yard with only dirt).
I'm so anxious to get to Hawaii. I'm worried about the water situation though 😕☹️. I am interested in this home floor plan, have been since I began researching last month. But again, nervous about the water. Congrats on your new home!!
