I agree 100% with your evaluation. I've had my 2023 Niro EV 'limited' since July. Driven from Winnipeg to Vancouver island and back and to Toronto and back, distances you in the UK will find hard to imagine. Love the LACK of a 'PlayStation' screen in the front... Like you do not use the infotainment system while driving. HEADS_UP is FANTASTIC! One improvement I did: I removed the 'sub-woofer' speaker from the lower area in the trunk and have a FULL SIZE SPARE, pneumatic jack and tools available. Picked up a nail on a Friday at 4 pm 1600 k from home. 20 minutes later i was driving home and fixed the tire later in the week for $10.00. The GOOP they give you for "fixing" a flat is a SCAM... cost a fortune to replace and makes your 'flat' very difficult to clean and use again. but then I'm old school. But seriously, the weight of a full-size spare is really nothing and the security of a spare tire as REAL spare tire is worth a million bucks. LOVE the buttons for heated seats, mirrors, steering wheel heat etc etc Like you want to scan through screens to find the heat for your seat??? Feels just like a 'normal' car BUT SO MUCH MORE FUN TO DRIVE and costs very little to run!
Having now owned my Niro EV for just over a month, I’m very happy with it. Yes, it has some downsides, the touch screen is too far away, the dual use climate control/navigation I don’t like, too fiddly which is not what you want when driving a car, thankfully some of the automations help with the distractions. The lane change assist I don’t trust and don’t see the point, you do have to nudge it for it to work, and I find it moves too far to the right of the new lane before it adjust itself, worrying if another vehicle is going by in an outer lane. The piano black is also a finger print trap. Apart from what i’ve mentioned, I would not change my mind, oh, the charge is slow for today’s standards but this isn’t a big thing as 95% I charge at home.
That was sport, but keep in mind I only did it once and it may be that if I did it again it would have been faster but having said that you don’t buy this car to do 0-60!
I really liked your calm way of presenting this car 🙏👍 I’m thinking of getting one, I’m just not sure if it’s big enough for my Rhodesian Ridgeback in the back?🤔 but as you mention, you can lower the floor and the height gets better👍
Thanks for the very comprehensive description of the eniro. Just one comment, I found a value of 7.9 second to make 0-100 kms (about 62 miles). Maybe your test was done in eco mode? I have driven the car and the eco was “very eco”, a bit too calm.😅
Thanks for this review, you didn’t mention the capability for vehicle to load though which I think is one of the main improvements over the e-niro, buying a portable battery is getting on for £1,000 per kWh, this car includes it for free.
i would assume EV6 GT is setup very different than GT-line where its softer suspension and so on. i am curious if you would have the same opinion if u were to drive these back to back but non GT EV6
It is a good question, I don't remember the EV6 feeling the same as the GT but I think I would want to drive other fast EVs to compare the GT to - even in the same group with the IONIQ 5N and GV60.
Love everything about it EXCEPT the battery using all the bad old blow up lithium cobalt Fire batteries. They should have LFP batteries that the Kona uses instead.
One only needs SPEED of charging on long trips! Charging at home is so convenient. I have the 240 volt hook-up but the 110 will do just fine if you plug in each night!
The car has nothing to do with grip. That has to do with the tires and tire pressure. It's like saying this car is better in the snow, without saying the car had snow tires. Formula one cars are good in the rain, why? The answer they have amazing rain tires
@@TechInTheCarKia chose the tyres for summer, yes. But, as per usual, most people in the UK ignore the fact that winter tyres perform better in cold weather and then moan they got stuck in a bit of snow or slip in cold weather. I really wish we’d follow some countries and make it law that you need three peak tyres in winter.
Niro EV or the Hybrid/ ICE version?
I own a Kia Niro EV 2024, it's a pleasure to drive.
420km range often costs £2 when I charge at home.
perfect car
I agree!

Thank for the spare tire tip! I wonder why I don't see that suggestion everywhere? Just see the complaint there's no spare.

Congratulations 🎉 what about winter days performance in battery ?
What driving mode were you into with the 0-60 test? Is it faster in sport mode? Or does it not make a difference?
That was sport, but keep in mind I only did it once and it may be that if I did it again it would have been faster but having said that you don’t buy this car to do 0-60!
How much is the Payload in kg?
Does it have wireless android auto or apple car play or do you still need to plug in your phone?
Check my Kia 2023 infotainment video where I talk about it!
At 5.04 he mentions its wired

Thank you! 👍 Only way to find out is take your dog to the dealer and see if he/she fits.
Great review. Enjoyed it. If I may offer an improvement opportunity, the audio quality was not the best.
Noted! Thanks

Different roads and weather makes a difference, it is perfectly possible it is faster as you tested but when I tested it that is what I got.
how come noone ever shows the trunk or back end? I'm looking for a back space for camping and Costco runs 😊

Good point! I missed that feature and it is a very useful feature.
He did mention it - said it could power your whole house which it wont of course.
Sorry - wrong video...

Any improvements regarding charging time?

That's a no then😅

It is about set-up though and Kia chose the tyres so on the Niro EV it is better set up than the EV6 GT.

What grade is this
It’s not a 2
it is a '4' trim
@@TechInTheCar thank you for replying 🙏
