so hyang is a fake belter. just headtones. headtones mixed with very tiny chest voice to sound like she's belting. in a more technical way, head dominant mixed voice. i could do so hyang's fake high notes. a lot of people can do those. but only a few belts with power chest dominant belts- there's whitney, celine in her prime, mariah, christina, and jonalyn. you see, so hyang's fancy head tones are not as amazing as whitney's, or mariah's. whitney's E5 would be more stunning than so hyang's A5 or B5.
Demi, Lea, Patti, Sohyang and Chaka were my top 5. I wasn't sure I'd put Sohyang in my top 5 this time just because she doesn't do A5s often and it isn't like one of her signature notes like G5 or Bb5. why is no one giving lea the recognition she deserves, quite clearly the cleanest belt, without using her head voice, and holding it longer than everyone else, the only others holding it longer were riffing so not actually hitting the note for the full extent of the vocal or using their falsetto, like hello???
literally, it's easy to understand why Ariana was picked. Yes, it may have had no resonance, whatever the fuck, or it was too mixed, but she didn't even try. She hit it with a smile and it sounded beautiful and effortless.
So did some of the singers such as SoHyang whom is a better overall vocalist compared to Ariana. Arianas A5 was nothing compared to SoHyangs, it was unsupported, unsustained, no vibrato, it was peaked A5s, just look at SoHyangs. The A 5 is my highest comfortable note.. Thank you for sharing this as it makes it very easy to flow with other voices and pitch-out so to speak.... Interesting as the A sounds good in it;s totality in tone and ambiance whereas other higher notes that I hit periodically have an awful sound in my opinion the A really sounds sweet!
