It's weird looking at Pikmin 3 footage. When it came out when I was 9, to me, it looked very state-of-the-art and revolutionary. Now it looks like it has almost Wii-like graphics.
So Pikmin 3 started as a Wii game and got delayed so much that it became a WiiU game. Cause of this, it actually does still use assets designed for the Wii. Many reviewers noticed this at its original launch and mentioned it in the reviews and previews, you just don't think of that sort of stuff if you where a kid at that time.
As someone who's just beaten the main campaign in Pikmin 3 Deluxe and only played Pikmin on the GameCube, this felt like natural progression. We traded in swarming for good camera controls, the map button being a face button to the map button being a menu button, and finagling with the iffy cursor for enemy lock-ons. The shoulder buttons, no longer occupied with not-so-great camera controls, became more useful, being able to sort out Pikmin and lock on to enemies.
I would love to see multiple planets in Pikmin 4, like an entire solar system or something with different places that have been seeded by the pikmin, I mean, they are obviously space-faring beings... It would work well to have different astronauts exploring the planets and you could get side missions and such from them?
I'm surprised that so many of these features have been incorporated to Pikmin 4. Increasing max units, multiple parts of a map having base points you can move between, the CHARGE MECHANIC which was also in 3 deluxe. Heck, even the CLOCK looks like Hotel Transylvania 3's!.
My initial thought before watching is Hotel Transylvania is fun and charming, and so is Pikmin, but I have no earthly idea of how they're supposed to be connected. Oh right, the Hotel Transylvania game

“You grow the population over time” Flarlics
This is so funny
It's weird looking at Pikmin 3 footage. When it came out when I was 9, to me, it looked very state-of-the-art and revolutionary. Now it looks like it has almost Wii-like graphics.
So Pikmin 3 started as a Wii game and got delayed so much that it became a WiiU game. Cause of this, it actually does still use assets designed for the Wii. Many reviewers noticed this at its original launch and mentioned it in the reviews and previews, you just don't think of that sort of stuff if you where a kid at that time.
@@scarffoxandfriends9401 Huh, didn't know that.
You can tell Arlo’s going insane for pikmin content when videos like this pop up.
I can 100% say Arlo is the main reason I gave picmin a chance, played 5 minutes of the demo and was hooked.
Bought it after demo was finished
ok uh so... Pikmin 4 has more features in common with this game 0_0
like this is getting a bit uncanny lmaoo
I would love to see multiple planets in Pikmin 4, like an entire solar system or something with different places that have been seeded by the pikmin, I mean, they are obviously space-faring beings... It would work well to have different astronauts exploring the planets and you could get side missions and such from them?
Have you ever played the Overlord series? It's really identical to pikmin.
I was waiting for someone to say that Overlord is really fun.
Arlo calling me a friend just made my day
This is so stupid I can't help but laugh at the idea, but Arlo, you truly make it sound convincing. Fun video!
I like Pikmin 3 Deluxe. I have been picking up all the first party games and I like it.
9:06 Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard is the Dark Souls of Pikmin games
I can't believe Pikmin 4 turned into this, its wild.
