    Hi Amber! Thank you so much for your review! Your curls are absolutely STUNNING! 🥰
    For No.8, we recommend using it in place of No.5 on the days your hair needs extra moisture, so no need to use both No.5 and No.8 together! ✨

    Olaplex is LIFECHANGING for me. My hair is completely natural with no heat damage, but just like yours, I saw dramatic results even after the first use. It makes my curl pattern more defined as soon as I use it. I've only tried Olaplex no3 so far, but I would like to try the rest of the line along with it because I've heard it works wonders. I'd recommend it to anyone who regularly heat styles their hair, but also to anyone like me who has virgin hair but wants to tame the frizz and get the natural curl pattern popping again. Oh, and I also had noticeably WAY less breakage afterward, so the bond repair DEFINITELY does something. I'm pretty sure Olaplex no3 is not a protein treatment too, which I love because normally my hair does horribly with protein treatments, leaving it crunchy and stiff.

  • @MISSPHOTOGENICBABY

    I have been sleeping on Olaplex for YEARS! After one use my hair shed was cut in half, I barely see anything In my brush during detangling, my spit ends have also improved dramatically! I use the salon stand alone treatment (1 & 2, I leave it on for a few hours, I’m licensed) but I’ve heard good things about 0 and 3 together. Something to note is that Olaplex is not permanent but it will continue to rebuild your Disulphide bonds every time you use it. K18 is permanent and you can use it with Olaplex because they repair different bonds, these two with protein treatments and deep conditioning treatments ( Olaplex & K18 are not protein treatments) will have your hair feeling like silk. No 8 is one of my favorites, my hair feels so soft after using it and it does penetrate the hair shaft quickly ( try 4 in 1 conditioner if you have thicker hair)! The oil and leave-in gave me a silky bone straight look after I flat ironed ( with no build up!) and I was impressed! My hair had not shed at all while brushing it, it’s hair magic 🪄

      Thanks for the detailed response. Unfortunately, whenever I use Olaplex, I shed like crazy. I don't even use too much, because it's so concentrated. I've tried the entire range, in different combinations. It's, regrettably, just not for me. It's a shame, because my hair feels great when I use it, I just lose too much of it. However, I'm curious about K18 and have a small sample tube, so I might give that a try 🙂

      @@tfk5566 Thank you, the box has directions but I’ll explain my routine.
      First, I wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo ( you can even use dawn), then I put my hair in four braids and let it dry in a t-shirt for five minutes.
      I use an applicator bottle to apply number 1 ( do not use a spray bottle) all over my hair while i’m bent over the sink ( be careful not to get it in your eyes).
      I always have a big bowl in the sink to pick up the dripping solution. I hate wasting and this will make sure you coat your hair evenly. After that, I let it sit for ten minutes before applying No. 2, I use it to detangle my hair as well. I always braid it back up and leave this on for a minimum of 3 hours before rinsing and washing with No. 4.
      Olaplex stops working when it’s dry so keep the hair covered!
      After No. 4 I use a protein treatment and follow up with No. 5 & 8 for moisture ( leave on for 10 min).
      I hope this helps!

Never really noticed looks when I would buy stuff from African/Caribbean hair shops but I'm oblivious to whats going on around me most of the time any way, I don't think it would make a difference. I tried the olaplex hair oil and didn't much care for it, prefer Moroccan or argan oil (I know moroccan oil is argan oil but seems thicker or something) but may be I'll try the range and see cuz my hair is damaged af! Have a weave atm cuz I butchered my hair during lockdown - see, I lived in Dubai and bleach, sun, sand and curls don't mix.

    I'm transitioning back to natural and found that my virgin hair was super dry. My go-to style has been a blowout and press so that the curly roots work with the processed ends. I've started getting an Olaplex treatment every 12 weeks, when I go for a haircut. I use the No. 7 Bonding Oil after every wash as it seals in moisture without being greasy or weighing down my fine hair.

  • @dcarmeto

    Olaplex isn't a protein treatment boo. It may feel like it is, but it isn't. Olaplex will actually work hand in hand with one of your fave protein treatments. A protein treatment that's working on the outside layer of your strands while Olaplex works on relinking broken/weakened disulfide bonds inside. You can also pair Olaplex with your fave moisture mask, or use their moisture mask. I can understand why people think of it as a protein treatment because of how strong their strands suddenly feel.And there is some people that think its a moisturizing deep treatment and end up using it incorrectly, even though isn't a conditioner. Everyone's hair can take to it differently and feel differently. Olaplex is honestly amazing and is one of my top brands that I love.

    @jackieison4793 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have used many of their products and love them all. My favorite was No. 8. You are right, you should have skipped the conditioner. It's meant to use in place of it once a week (I use it every three or four washes). You use a couple pumps and work it into very damp hair. This product needs more moisture. I don't ever think I've used enough, but after a couple minutes in your hair, it melts and spreads evenly. My waves and curls look amazing when I use it. For No. 3, it is active for up to 45 minutes, but the longer you leave it on, the better. I also keep no. 8 on for 10 to 15 minutes. Nos. 0, 3, and 8 were intended to be used together. There's also a No. 9 coming out this week. It protects your hair from damage and seals in your color and makes your style last longer.

    Olaplex no 3 & 6 have been my staples for quite a while now. Next time I run out of my Curlsmith shampoo and conditioner lines I will be adding the Olaplex shampoo and mask a try. Lovely turn out on your hair, it looks so luxurious! I'm addicted to the curl definition pop after rinsing no 3 too! 😁 Oh! Just a friendly fyi (via professional stylist) if you are going to use a deep conditioning mask. You would use it alone, as they're formulated for intense moisture. As with a regular conditioner too, you would use it alone. Not simultaneously. Your conditioner had already done the good job of adding back your moisture, so that's why the mask didn't make much difference. So hopefully you get a chance to try just the mask. Just wanted to watch how Olaplex is helping fellow curly gals. The strength and length retention since using no 3 is so incredible and adding no 6 leave in has me bragging to myself about my wash and go's. I'll be a new subbie after this! Cheers!😁

    I have hip length 4a hair at this length it can be a little challenging to keep the ends healthy. I tried Olaplex about 3 months ago and it has been a great addition to my hair care routine. My ends have improved and now I don't have to be so concerned about them. At first I used it each week for about 4 weeks and now I only use it once a month. The only products I use from the line are the O and 3.

    One needs to use 1 with chemical treatments before anything else...I grew my hair down to the middle of my back and it was bleached white sometimes dyed half ultra blue...and I'm a man of 60...all because of Olaplex, longest my hair grew before was to my shoulders in the 80 and the era of big hair bands.

    Oh I am here for this. I got a lot of gray coming in. I've been going great since the day I turned 13 years old. Nine gray hairs. And my mother chased me around the house to try to put them out. We got into an argument and I was like you're going to make me go bald by the time I'm 50.
    I'm sad that I said that. Cuz my immune system is attacking my hair follicles. And shutting down my immune system to stop it from attacking my hair follicles. Not a good thing because I already have a very bad immune system. Yay me.
    My hair is natural curly. Nice and spirally. Growing up my hair was so long, I had no idea how truly curly my hair was. I would get little tight tendracurls around my baby hair areas around my neck and ears top of my forehead. But whenever I finally cut my hair to my shoulders. I was so upset, I thought the woman had actually cut my hair up to my ears. I went back in crying and she's like sweetie look at your hair. I said I know it's curly and we didn't even perm it? I said my best friend just got into an argument with me this morning that I went and had my hair permed. Can you tell me what's going on? And why is my hair so short. God love her she said you don't know you have curly hair do you? I said I have curly hair. I looked in the mirror and we both laughed.
    This lovely woman took me in the back and taught me about my hair. She actually took the time washed my hair out help me condition it, did a wonderful treatment on my hair. My hair went from, and I'm not joking, I walked in with a triangular afro. For the first time I had some bangs cut, oh my gosh they shrunk up to my forehead. It was just, shocking really shocking. I went from long wave slight curl. To Shirley Temple. But my hair isn't as nice as Shirley temples. It has texture to it. My grandmother is Arabic Israelite. Her and I are like two peas in a pod. I look more like her daughter, then I ever could look like my mother.
    For the first time in my life I actually learned about the texture of my hair. How to take care of it. I literally cried when the lady was done because she didn't even charge me. So I asked one of the girls where her favorite place to eat lunch was. And I went and purchased her favorite lunch. And her favorite smoothie.
    Now. I have a fear of hair stylist. They always get my hair wrong. No joke 13 times I've sat in a chair. Only two times have I liked my hair. It's cool I'll just chop it I'm good. I tell a woman please don't use any razors on my hair, it's curly I'm getting a shortcut I want to be able to wear it curly and straight no razors what do you know what are you doing using razor. Okay...
    My gray hair, I thought my hair had texture. Oh my goodness. My gray hair doesn't curl the same as my other hair. It has more of a wave to it about 60 to 70% of the front of my hair is gray. But then the rest is my other hair. I can't tell you how hard it is to style two different textures of hair. And I love wearing my hair curly. But then I find on some of my gray parts I will have to take a small curling iron and curl them which then I don't really want to add too much heat to the white hair. Cuz I don't want to make it to go yellow.
    And here I am again. That little girl sitting in the chair not understanding why in Shadow her head look like a triangle, and how it magically went tight curly frizzy and just one day, I had a new head of hair on my head. I was so confused so lost. Absolutely bewildered.
    And I'm there again. And I'm not kidding, I don't know what stylist to go to. Who's good who's not. And I've had my hair messed with so many times. Stick of forking me I'm done. I'll just wear a hat okay... Hahaha 😂🥴👌💫

    I use 0,3 for treatments. Then 4, the shampoo to rebalance the ph after treatment. I prefer my own conditioner and stylers. I use it on e a week for a month then switched to once a month and my hair is soo much better. It’s concentrated. You don’t need much.

    I'm late but I finally tried Olaplex for my semi-damaged 3c/4a high porosity hair and I wish I would've tried this sooner. I used the numbers 0 and 3 together and then I washed my hair with the Miche Beauty cleansing shampoo. I used number 8 as my deep conditioner and after that, I used numbers 6 and 9 before I blow dried. For my heat protector, I used the CHI iron guard. And to top it off, I used the number 7 on my hair shaft and ends. My shedding was crazy low and my hair looks and feels stronger. Honestly, my hair is unrecognizable.

    You are not supposed to work the shampoo along the lengths of your hair, you are supposed to shampoo just the scalp and use circular movements on the scalp and the suds/water will naturally fall through your hair ...

    • @kaitlynjones3424
      @kaitlynjones3424 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think some people with coarser or curlier hair have to wash throughout to get it clean and prevent build up. Fiber and straighter hair is easier for the shampoo to kind of drip or run through.

    • @tijay8507
      @tijay8507 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kaitlynjones3424 It is even worse for curly or coarser hair as shampoo is super drying.. if you shampoo the scalp properly including the nape of the neck etc then there is no reason apart from if you are removing extensions to ever touch the length..

    I don’t know if anyone mentioned it but transfer the 0 into a spray bottle. It works better and you don’t waste it. For me after using Olaplex for 2 months straight there was alot of build up. But it stopped my hair shedding. I would leave #3 on for a hour or however long and it works very well! I love the shampoo the conditioner is meh. The leave in is good but can be heavy. The oil is great for fine hair. But only worked for the front of my long heavy hair!
