Hi!! Some backstory : A few months ago, while I was on tour, Lena Headey reached out about making a video for Miracle. Maisie Williams quickly joined (they had both met on the set of Game of Thrones). Her vision was so clear, it was very different from the way I've illustrated the universe of "Good Faith" up to that point but that's what made the idea so fascinating, it’s a different interpretation. They focused on the drama of the music and made a beautiful video. I'm very honored that my music inspired this!
At first, this video came off weird as we were all probably expecting a colorful/blissful video. After a second watch I fell in love with it. I believe this tells the story of a couple who had a tragic accident (car crash). Unfortunately, only the guy survives making him beg for a Miracle so that his girlfriend comes back to life(I believe the vocal pre-chorus choir represents angst, pain, etc). At the end she has to let go and he has to realize that his girlfriend is dead. It's very refreshing to see other artists such as Lena Headey interpret Madeon's music this way. Personally, my favorite part is at 1:56 when she realizes she didn't survive the accident. Hence the final chorus ''and so I'll go'' as she says goodbye to her lover and accepts her death. Truly a great video.
Personally. I don't think it's refreshing. I think it's lame to see a complete misinterpretation / misrepresentation of the song. Miracle is about making a CHOICE / Sacrifice to leave something behind in the persuit of your dreams. This video is about hoping for a miracle in the wake of an ACCIDENT. accident =/= choice. Art is free to interpretation but the theme is completely off and ignores the majority of lyrics in the song.
Andrew Kassab I liked the video (I personally think music videos have a little more freedom in interpretation when it comes to theme or relevance) but I have to admit this is a pretty solid argument
@Flick I wanted a music video that fit the theme of the song and the universe that Madeon created. It doesn't have to be literal, but this is far from an accurate interpretation of the music.
Hey, id just like to point out the massive age difference visually between the two characters. I think that makes it more possible for her to be the daughter rather than a girlfriend
I really hope Madeon releases official music videos for every track in the Good Faith Album! But I hope Nirvana and Mania are combined seamlessly into one music video, it just makes sense that way.
Be Fine, Nirvana and Mania (since they have transition) are a trilogy, so if the music videos were made for those songs, it would be like the Pixel Empire trilogy music videos of Good Faith
2:40 When the voice started with the piano in the backgroud, i just can not fight back tears. Her voice was so so so good that give me a lot of emotions. Such a emotional singer
It's so visceral. Can tell it comes from a dark place. I'm waiting for a breath, for relief, the whole time, wondering how the visuals and music will resolve. And it doesn't. It hurts, just like guy is hurt.
I was going to say it was cool but all the sudden took a complete 180 and showed someone just die from a car crash by the looks of it. I loved the people in video playing the characters but at the end of the day I feel mixed about the video because I don't think it goes with the theme that Hugo wanted. My thoughts originaly of song was that it was about having a second chance for the loved one not the whole oh she is dead shocker type video. (I am sorry for this long text just wanted to give my opinion out if anyone cared)
Powerful imagery. Gonna hug my wife and little girl a little tighter tonight, as those near and dear to us can be gone in an instant. I feel this video is a reminder of that.
TH-cam premiere gang rise up! hahahha. Btw im so happy to see one of the best tracks on the album getting a music video, thanks for the present, Hugo 🧡💫 Edit: my god, i wasnt expecting such a powerful video, i love it
Madeon has a very deep knowledge about how to touch your soul with his music. This song takes you really away to a nice and chill place. It makes me happy only listening to this song
This video is beautiful, the contrast between the upbeat vibe of the song and the dark emotional story of the video is crazy. I seriously love this, gave me chills!
Miracle is such a powerful song, and I think it can bring a lot of emotions distinct to each person who hears it :) lovely to see Madeon highlight that in this video. Was stunning.
I like how Maisie’s ghost is more bloody compared to what her actual corpse looked like as that’s how most trauma’s effect the mind long after they’ve happened.
I'm not sure if this is the same but ive had 5 car wrecks (2 nasty ones) and now every time i take a turn i feel an impact lol. at least it makes me a safer driver
@@chief2632 I was talking more about memory and how the mind overblown details about our trauma to make it more terrifying but you are right some physical trauma like a concussion or even a twisted ankle can return later in life.
@@chief2632 sounds like some PTSD, your mind is reminded of the accident so it immediately reverts back to the same feelings you had in that moment but hey I’m not an expert so should probably go ask a professional about it if you need to or the next chance you get. You never want to leave a potential problem to fester even one that comes from the mind.
this song came into my mind as i am still grieving over the loss of a family member. this music video makes me think how we take moments for granted as we never know it may be the last time.
The music, the voice and the theme of the video make it so special and with that touch of a sad feeling if you understand the music and the lyrics very well madeon 🥰👏
For people who don't get this video, the starting part is the ending in reverse. The collision between them indicates that they got into a fatal accident (hence the pieces of glass when they hit). The part where the girl sees herself in the mirror covered in blood indicates her realising that she didn't survive. Later the girl is seen being pushed away from the guy with the line "So I'll go" in the background, this means to show that their souls are getting drifted apart. The last scene in the starry setting (same as shown in the beginning) shows the guy accepting that she's dead and hoping for a miracle (her not dying).
Another interpretation could be that the guy in the video has already accepted a job/move/trip to America. The "collision" is them meeting and the guy knowing that it won't be a long relationship, while the girl has no idea. That's why at the beginning when she falls in the bed she smiling, and the guy is sad holding himself back. Then as she learns about his commitment, she slowly start to bleed and eventually yell about their ill fate. Her 'death" is just time running out before he has to say good bye. The miracle is hoping to stay with girl, and keep her alive.
What an incredible piece of work. Even outside the Good Faith lore, this video tells a whole another story for this song. It's gut-wrenchingly beautiful indeed.
I'm here because of a beautiful soul named Mallory that stood with me at my very first Electric Forest. I've never even heard this type of music at all in my life up until now. As Mallory and I stood there watching I couldn't help but dance at times or just stand there in awe of the beautiful performance Madeon put on display. As Madeon started to finish up this beautiful song I looked over to see Mallory with tears streaming down her face. I was confused at first but at that moment I turned to her and said, " Awe Mallory don't cry, I love you. I'm glad we got to experience this with each other" as we shared a warm hug. That was the last I've seen of her, and I doubt I'll ever see her again...... But if you do see this Mallory thank you for this beautiful memory that I'll never forget. I wish you true happiness and prosperity! -Your friend Dennis ❤

In this scene the guy is trying to pull her back which is only a manifestation of what’s happening in real life. And the part where she’s ripping the teddy bear apart (feelings of suffocation, utter desperation and pain) were her last moments until she exhaled her last breath. The guy was holding her in his arms and at the end he’s just frozen and lying down, which is symbolic of the final memory she has before she finally goes and leaves it all behind.
