Nice, what I needed to convince me to install one on my own.

The wired part is a reed switch, the detached part is a magnet.
    Great informative video, thanks!

The power walls were just the beginning of the garage bling I see!

Just a thought in regards to installing the sensor on the ground. I installed the same sensor for my alarm but I installed it above the door. I attached the stationary piece to the wall and the magnet to the top of the door. This may be an option for you.

great idea! much better than the floor-mounted install that the manufacturer suggested I do.

Not sure if I would ok with having such a gap between air curtain and the entrance of the door. Bugs can still coming through the sides.

Hi! Is It protecting efficiently against mosquitos and other Flying insects?

    • @JasonLassen

yes, we've been very pleased with how this has worked out. It does a great job at keeping the insects out. It will slowly let the heat/cool air out so if we leave the door open for a few hours in winter, the temp definitely drops. I dont believe it ever equalizes to the outside air temp but it will have a noticeable effect after 15-30 minutes.

Are they effective at keeping leaves from blowing into your garage space in the fall? Or are leaves on the ground too heavy/far away to fight the wind

it really does a great job with the leaves and the insects! One thing to note on this - debris will come into the garage from the car and if you sweep it into a pile near the door and then open the door, the air curtain will blow it all back onto the garage floor! haha, that has got me more than once. *facepalm*

So how big of a difference does it make?

Did you do the heated driveway in the end?

    • @JasonLassen

Yes. Best feature of the entire home! I'll try to do a video on it in the future. Thankfully, I won't be able to record any snow falling for another half year. haha

Hey man how’s the air curtain been working over the last year? I want to put them on all my doors lol.

we love them. I honestly wish I had wired up all of our exterior doors for them!

???!? whats the point of the air curtain if its not perfectly blocking the whole doorway? the sides seem open and so mosquitoes and cold air/hot air etc can easily come in and out. Have you dont any rough calculation to see if this actually helps in insulating the garage?

anywhere you place your arm across the open garage while the fan is on you will feel it blowing, even 2 inches off the floor. As long as that wind is there, no mosquitos can fly thru.

    How's the noise level?

    • @JasonLassen
      @JasonLassen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

there are 10 speed settings on the Berner air curtains. the noise level is great at the lowest 1/3. the middle 1/3 is ok. the upper 1/3 gets annoying over time. Berner has a cool feature that allows the speed to change based on the weather which I really like because then it's only on the highest speed settings when it absolutely needs to be.
